I finished the director's cut of this game recently and so now looking back at this trailer and the teaser showing the 5 floating figures I know what those entities represent, it truly is one of those special games that should be played by those looking for a TRUE escape from reality.
@@thephoenix9301 well since it's been 3 months since my comment from what I remember is at the end of the game you stop the last boss from destroying and creating the world anew for the sixth time. So each of those five floating figures represents each of the last boss' successful recreations of the world.
@@mistahburpfractal Absolutely, it's a game that in order to understand it you need to really sink yourself into it... the gameplay is bland but it rewards you for putting up with it... hell I'm like 16 hours in and I'm still really confused and really intrigued
@@willbrown3963 Hell yeah man. Glad to hear that. And yeah, you really need to pay attention to the story to enjoy it, if you're into story games. It's incredibly interesting to me. The timefall, necrosis event, the bt's, the bb, still mothers, the beach, the chiral network etc. I love it.
@@thisguy9050 It not a bad gameplay. It's just people labeled it as 'UPS Delivery Simulator', which is not false, but is really not doing justice to the complexity of the gameplay. People may dislike it, but saying that it's bad is just.. false.
This game is in my shelf of masterpieces. This complex but also very well thought throug and implemented story is like nothing else. It´s so unique yet fascinating and rich on storytelling. You may be confused at the beginning but after finishing you see it with whole new eyes and appreciate it on a whole new level. 10/10, can´t wait for part 2!
My second playthrough was the best. I am 60% into my third and I'll leave it for a while after the end before I replay it again. The first playthrough was great, confusing, frustrating and I was ambivalent at the end, but knew I needed to play it again. It is a Masterpiece.
@@jameshicks7125 Yeah I will probably replay it before DS2 releases to refresh my memories. Since I wrote this comment after completing the game I'll go on vacation and relax from all the deliverys before I strap on my delivery suit again and go back to keep on keeping it on.
I got the Directors Cut last November. So far I have about 500 hours into it and I am about 60% into my third game. It is amazing on so many levels. It is definitely an original masterpiece -completely different than anything else I have played.
I love when this trailer aired no one knew what the hell was going on and what its about, than on release it was amazing and has a great story, I loved the game and I'm excited for sequel
this game was fucking amazing the ending made my ass cry alot when i thought lou was gonna die my heart dropped im a dude i felt like father for that few mins man like if a game can do that to me that proves its game worth your time i will never understand the hate the game gets its an amazing game
too many people quit this game too early… the story gets so much more interesting after meeting with MAMA. it’s pain to get to that point imo if someone just casually picks up the game.
yes, one of more challenging deliveries out there. after Mama, the equipment is almost fully useable and the mix between vehicle and terrain delivery is spot on…
One of the best games that has a great and immersive story and gameplay. A masterpiece and i just can't wait for DS2. 10/10 story 10/10 characters only dmbass says that sam isn't likeable. He was made like that and had a trauma in the past if you guys don't know. 9/10 gameplay 10/10 missions

That is so funny to watch this today. Imagine all those people looking at the stuff in the video, imagine them all going wtf is happening, no explanation whatsoever. And you are from now, after playing the game, you know that all what at first seems as nonsensical random shit, one after another, actually does make complete sense in the game's lore =)
Imagine kojima showing norman again in a show. And people think this is another version of DS but after a few minutes ... boommmmmmmmmmmm ... we realize that this is Silent Hill .. damn everyone goes crazy. I came here after learning that DS 2 was under construction. 😂
I don't understand one thing. This was the first death-stranding game, so why people got excited when the letters started leaking? I mean, it wasn't a sequel that people would recognise from a previous game, it was an original one. So, why people got excited just by seeing those letters leak as if they identified something from previous years!!
Because Death Stranding was revealed in 2016 and everyone at that time of this trailer was in the know of it's existence. That and Hideo Kojima of course.
It's funny that anything from SONY people applaud and scream, but when it launches nobody plays or says that the game is not for everyone. It's bizarre LOL.

This game is the opposite of last of us part 2, this has bad game play but good story, and the last of us part 2 has good game play but not a good story.
I found the walking gameplay and mechanics really interesting and realistic. Vehicles behaved strange and clunky. Also combat was a little meh but those criterias don´t hinder me on calling the game a masterpiece. Literally everything else was just perfection in my eyes.
Played exactly that to test if I like such games before buying Death Stranding because I was afraid it´s nothing more than that after reading some reviews and comments like that. I finished Walking Simulator and bought DS and boy this game is a fucking masterpiece in my eyes! My expectations were rather low and I got bombarded with surprises and a 10/10 game. Can´t wait for part 2! 👍+545

I cried with the ending, first time i cry with a Movie, Game, Book, etc. This game is A masterpiece, but some "gamers" only like to play the same thing again and again. But when a different thing comes out they hate it and call it a "walking simulator" because is not about killing everything that moves. (And i love games like that, Doom and Cod btw) And the game is far from being a walking simulator. It has Weapons too, a ROCKET LAUNCHER THAT USES YOUR BLOOD And A Baby, Lou is a very good character and she even dont talk in the entire game. And Good enemies and Boss Battles. And the Online system is a masterpiece, other online games are PvP, but in DS is about helping the others. The delivery system is addictive, i dont know why. Death Stranding have one of the best villians since Borderlands 2. Higgs has the same vibes that Handsome Jack for me. Thanks Kojima for this masterpiece. Srry, i writed the bible here lmao. I just wanted to give my opinion on this "-Videogame-" Masterpiece

The game could look a little boring in video or playthrough, but once you played you get the feeling, the lonelisse, you´re get caught in this amazing world with a lot of details. Its good to see a game inovate so much in gameplay and storytelling, only Kojima could bring this to us. Absoluty master piece.
It isn't, you have to progress more. Stop bashing it before you see what it offer. Comparing it to No Man's Sky is ignorant and really shows how easy fooled you are.
I just finished it and now it´s in my shelf of masterpieces. It´s definitelly nothing for the easy minds and I get why people think delivering is boring but I liked it. The music passages while hiking in those beautiful landscapes was something else as I like hiking and such amazing landscapes irl too. I got some cinematic and billboard worthy screenshots out of it too, especially on lategame where the visuals and sceneries are beyond stunning. And not to forget this complex, yet very well thought through storyline the executed like champs. It´s truly unique and something we haven´t had before. A surreal appocalyse scenario from the twisted mind of Kojima. I love this game man and can´t wait for part 2! 👍+673
i felt the same when i played for around 10-15 hours and later on i somehow started to like the game very much, still mgsv is my fav, then half life 2 and death stranding this game is not for everyone, you dont like it cool dont play it or get a refund if you bought it.
currently on my second play through after completing it when it first came out , it’s in my top 5 games of all time man. it can be hard to get into , but once it hooks you it’s incredible. give it another go with an open mind
