Doctor Who?
Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The TARDIS exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations, and helps people in need.
Beginning with William Hartnell, many actors have headlined the series as the Doctor. The transition from one actor to another is written into the plot of the show with the concept of regeneration into a new incarnation, a plot device in which a Time Lord "transforms" into a new body when the current one is too badly harmed to heal normally.
A series of special episodes will air to celebrate the programme's 60th anniversary. The episodes were written by Russell T Davies, and will be broadcast on BBC One in November 2023, preceding the following fourteenth series. David Tennant will appear as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate was also confirmed to be returning to the show in the 2023 specials.
The three specials were directed by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button respectively. Filming moved from Roath Lock Studios to Wolf Studios once Bad Wolf became a co-producer of the series; filming commenced in May 2022, and was complete
David Tennant will appear as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate was also confirmed to be returning to the show in the 2023 specials. Yasmin Finney joined the cast for the anniversary, to portray a character named Rose. Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Karl Collins are also set to return as Wilfred Mott, Sylvia Noble and Shaun Temple, respectively.
The Fourteenth Doctor is the current incarnation of the Doctor, the fictional protagonist of the BBC science fiction television programme, Doctor Who. The Fourteenth Doctor is portrayed by Scottish actor, David Tennant, who previously portrayed the Tenth Doctor.
Within the series narrative, the Doctor is a millennia-old, alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, with somewhat unknown origins, who travels in time and space in their TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes.

QUESTION: These Death to the Dalek Silver Daleks with black Hemis are classified as a Type 5 Dalek. It is basically a Type 3 Dalek with the improved, higher-frequency sense globes (hemis). Is there any other differences? Other than these silver & black Death Daleks, do any other Daleks belong to the Type 5 Class? The original type 3 were silver with blue hemis. The first Type 4 Daleks (first as in "first on TV"), were the Gold and Grey Daleks from "Day of the Daleks". They were the first to have the new & improved black hemis . The new Type 4 Daleks had an oval between the arm boxes (although older, refurbished/repainted type 4's didn't have the ovals). We also saw the shows' creators to continue the use of nearly identical Type 4 Daleks in Planet of the Daleks, and later on, Genesis of the Daleks although in between these (after Planet, but prior to Genesis) we saw the Type 5 daleks (silver with black hemis) in the TV Series "Death to the Daleks". This is where things get messed up. CONFUSING POINT #1: Through the first 6 TV shows, all the Daleks were silver including those from the very first TV series "The Daleks". Now since the TARDIS moves back and forth in time, the TV shows don't have to be in chronological order, but it has been established that the Daleks without "slats and mesh" (Type 1 & Type 2) appeared before those with slats and mesh (Type 3 and up). Furthermore, since "Genesis" detailed the creation of The Daleks, one can also assume with almost 100% certainty, that the Genesis Daleks should have been slatless and meshless, and without ovals. One might argue that a grey type 1 drone could have preceded the silver Type 1 daleks (in the TV series "The Daleks"). In other words, they changed the paint color from initially being grey to the silver color in "The Daleks". However, there is a problem with this assumption. Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 Daleks all had the early model, low-frequency sense globes (hemis). The Dalek Drones in "Genesis of the Daleks" had the later model, black sense globes. Had the drones in "Genesis of the Daleks" been grey with blue hemis, I would agree that there could have been a grey Type 1 that preceded the silver Type 1, but the black hemis in "Genesis" means the shows' creators just screwed up. Conclusion regarding "Confusion Point #1": Since the Dalek drones in "Genesis" were "grey with the later-model, black hemis", I am almost 100% certain that the shows creator made a mistake painting the Daleks in "Genesis" grey with black hemis. They should have been silver like the silver, Type 1 drones WITH BLUE HEMIS found in "The Daleks". CONFUSING POINT #2: The last TV series with the Mark 3 (silver with blue hemis) Daleks was "Evil of the Daleks". The next show had a Type 4 gold supreme and a Type 4 grey drone. The single most important upgrade on these Type 4 Daleks were the new and improved black sense globes (or Hemis). The Da;el drones remained grey with black hemis through the next TV series "Planet of The Daleks". After "Planet", the drones revert back to silver skirts and silver domes, but keep the new and improved black sense globes (hemis). These are called Type 5 daleks and they differ from Type 4 since they are silver instead of grey, and differ from Type 3 since they have the new, improved black hemis instead of the older, blue hemis.. After the "Death to the Daleks" series comes the TV series "Genesis", and as I said before the Dalek drones revert back to Grey Type 4. AFTER GENESIS of the Daleks, we have "DYNASTY of the Daleks", followed by Resurrection, Revelation, and Remembrance. All of these shows have grey daleks with black hemis. (For the time being, we'll ignore the new white-gold Imperial Types 6 & 7 Daleks that co-existed in "Revelation" and "Remembrance" with the original line of Type 4 grey Daleks (now called Renegade Daleks). BIG AND FINAL QUESTION: After the one-off series "Death to the Daleks", in which the Type 5 "silver with black hemis" Daleks change back to the "gray with black hemis", is it safe to classify these later gray Daleks (found in Destiny, Resurrection, Revelation, and Remembrance) as Type 4 daleks also?????? As far as I know, the only distinct difference between the gray Type 4 and silver Type 5 is the base color (gray vs silver). IF SOMEBODY KNOWS ANY OTHER DISTINCT DIFFERENCES PLEASE LET ME KNOW! From the 1975 series "Genesis of the Daleks" through the 1988 Series "Remembrance", we see the Type 4 daleks vary slightly with the shade of grey paint used and we see some other small tweaks from series to series, such as the color of the lower collar and changes in appearance of the dome lights. (Some times a change in dome lights may reflect the difference between a "section leader" and "a drone".). Thus, I can only assume these later gray daleks are still type 4 (since the silver ones were Type 5). With the 1985 series "Revelation of the Daleks", we saw the introduction of Type 6 (1985) Necros Daleks, which were the white-gold, Imperial Daleks. In 1988 series "Remembrance of the Daleks", we saw Davros refine his Type 6 Imperial into Type 7 Imperial Daleks. I should point out that there were several fewer slats (although the slats wee a bit bigger) on The Renegade Dalek in History of the Daleks Set #15. (Ironically, this change in slat design follows the changes that Davros made when upgrading his Type 6 Necros Imperial into the final white-gold Type 7 Imperial found in "Remembrance of the Daleks." To my surprise, the Time Lord's Dalek manual didn't deem this change worthy of creating a new classification for this specific version of The Renegade Dalek. Thus, it appears like this new version of the Type 4 Renegade Dalek is still a type 4 Dalek although it has the same slat design as the newer Type 7 Imperial Daleks. IMO, this is also an oversight on the part of the show's creators. Most likely it was a change based on economics since they could use the same Dalek form for both the 1988 Imperial and Renegade Daleks.

I'm not keen on pushing a large metal tube into the ball joints, it really messes them up, I don't think they really need them

Well I'm very keen on it, and once there in there in, I don't ever take the rod out so it doesn't mess them up. I know plenty of people who've done the same, in fact it was Nathan from NDW Design who gave me the idea 😂

I liked the "Death to the Daleks" Dalek design. They could have used the design in "Genesis of the Daleks" as part of a Squad lead by a Dark Grey "Planet of the Daleks" Dalek that had been sent back in time to stop the Doctor averting their creation. And use the Skaro City Daleks from 1963 as the original Mark I Daleks.
