I feel sorry for Libya. My family were victims of mega Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines, and this catastrophic flooding in Libya which also took thousands of lives remind me of the suffering we went through back in 2013. I pray for Libyan survivors, their families and loved ones that they may find light and strength to help them overcome this very sad occurrence.

I can't believe they admitted they weren't prepared...nice to hear the truth instead of a political spin. I am so sorry that this happened and praying for the people.

Sad to see this devastation and hear of deaths, preparation is important and sad to hear that officials were not prepared or underestimated the storm, having much fragile infrastructure. Condolences and wish them well.

It is weird and Sad how this extreme weather is ripping mankind today... but it seems the Dam building is disastrous if not managed properly.

Perhaps we’re now living in the days that are the end of times. There’s catastrophes worldwide and death rates are staggering, going from hundreds of casualties to thousands. No place is safe and it could happen to anyone at anytime. Prayers for the Libyan people, may they find their families and get through this.

To be clear.. It was dams collapsing that caused the unexpected flooding, not authorities of the local government... This was caused primarily by disruption of Libyas huge water reticulation development by Gaddafis overthrow.. Maybe those opposing Libyan infrastructural development and national unification have a real mission now to help rebuild and redeem themselves and their homeland... And earn community wealth and respect..

Europe should send money to help these people. It is onlt fair that they send a few billion euros just like they sent to "help" Ukraine.

There are reports that the Egyptian Authorities are very worried about cracks in the Aswan Dam and the possibility that the storm will cause it to fail, flooding the Nile river with a 300 mile long by 50 mile wide mud and water tsunami. 85 % of Egypt's population are in the path of it.

People do not realize that we are finally in the last days. The bible talks of these days that we are seeing all over the world. Like the days of Noah, when he was told by God ( Elohim) to build the ark and get ready for the rains that are coming to flood the earth. As he built the ark, he preached to the people to turn away from sin. Idolatry, hate, murderer’s, greed, depraved ways of living, unforgiveness to name a few. The warnings were given and the people mocked him. Well, the rains came and the only family saved was Noah’s. The earth cries out to God in heaven for mercy for all the blood spilled. The sins of ma all around the world is a stench to his nostrils, and his wrath has begun. Jesus, came preaching to depart from sin and was crucified. But he went to that cross as the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind and through the shedding of his blood, repenting of our sins, and accepting him as Lord and Savior, we will abide in heaven while those that reject salvation through him are damned to hell for eternity. God does not make exceptions. He is an approachable God to everyone that acknowledges they are a sinner and repents of the sin through his only begotten son who never sinned. Jesus became the sacrificial lamb. The only one who knew no sim became sin when he took our sins upon him. He is the mediator before man and God. It is sad that all these lives are lost. The bible has been warning us and preparing us for all that is coming. But we live in a world where we mock God. Religion praying to gods fashion by man’s own hands does not save. But a living sacrifice was done on calvary for all our sakes. No one can save themselves or say they are a good person. The bible states that there is no one good but God( Elohim). It wasn't a flood. Lack of Maintenance on your 2 dams is the cause of the failure of said dams. Causing a Tsunami which washed away the area.

Its unfortunate that India too has an impending dam disaster in the south which no-one seems to care. There are thousands of people living with fear below the 128 year old Mullaperiyar dam in Kerala. This dam will burst for sure and the question is actually when as the possibility of a new dam seems to be impossible because of political reasons. This disaster could directly wash out 3.5 million people into the Arabian sea and could literally destroy the most literate state in India to mud and rubble. As the libyan floods has recently showed us, we can't take everything for granted against the nature and when the nature unleash its fury because of our irresponsibility it would be merciless...
