There's something about Sprite animations that I just freaking love. No amount of 3d, 4d, VR, CGI, FMV or realism can beat sprites for me :)

Because sprites represent videogames in general since the beginning. It ages like a fine wine unlike old n64 and ps1 games.

its the right amount of details on the screen. photo realism can be overwhelming for me personally. also, everything happens inside of our heads and the imagination has more details than any graphics

There are 2 ways to look at this. The first, it is like those ads that are so bad at the game you want to play it to do better. Think the wall pulling or matching games. The second: we are here primarily for splatts commentary, and if we like what we see of the game we buy it, and like it even more by playing it better.

I'm really picky about what games I end up purchasing nowadays, but I think this one is going on that list. I like the style and humor and the UI seems extremely easy and well-polished. Also, Fleshkraken is the cutest thing I've seen in my life.

27:00 Frontload the fun is a basic rule of game design I wish more developers learned. Whether its one hour or forty hours, you shouldn't make the players wait any longer than necessary before you introduce what is supposed to be the "fun" part of the gameplay. *Sometimes* this is the exposition, but !@#$ if I don't search for the skip cutscene button after one or two minutes.

This pixel art is amazing. My mind keeps getting blown by pixel artists. Getting Hyperlight Drifter feels, but darker. The hype is happening, dev guy. Good job so far.
