That’s bc death transforms into what you fear. Puss fears wolves, so death takes the form of a wolf in the movie. Edit: ok can this reply section stop, this is literally just a thought that I had. Y’all needa chill out
I don't know who in Dreamworks came up with the idea of Death being a dual sickles-wielding wolf but whoever they are deserves more credit cause how do they sleep at night knowing they just created one of the most badass villains ever who made toddlers cry in theaters?
My friend and I guessed that The Death is a wolf because of the Anubis, the Judge of Dead in egyptian mythology. Sickles though always have meaning of death to them, as they are weapons of farmers to harvest crops, in other words, weapons to end life of the wheat.
In Diablo 3 the angel of death has dual wielding sickles... But it's probaby linked to the fact sickles vaguely resemble Scythes typically associated to death in the west, or just sickles from ancient Egypt, also associated with death.
Dreamworks origin of death is actually based off of a myth where death will take the form of a wolf and will whistle and will break through your windows or doors if you don't lock them
dreamworks company proved that death is not monotonous, he discovered the character and inner appearance of death they showed that not all deaths take lives, but give a lesson in appreciating what you have while you are alive so i think this movie deserves more than the others
@@Anygetting in a land with bipedal talking cats and donkey that had kids with a dragon, is it not possible that death could take any form he desires and what can prey on cats? Foxes, wolves and other canine creatures so the most logical thing death would choose would be something cats fear. There predators.
Death in other media: Skeleton/shadow with a scythe and wearing a black hoodie Dreamworks: Furry with two sickles that can stick together to make a staff blade and will give you anxiety with only a whistle.
If it works, it works They probably found a sentence saying Death Takes the form of something you fear the most just to have an excuse to make a furry and a badass one at that Sadly As the Internet is... it's ruined and I sometimes hate the Furry community too
I assume Death itself in Dreamworks is just the cloak wielding the blades. And it takes the form most ideal in taking the life of whoever it comes for. I suspect if we see Death again, the cloak will still be there, but it might change forms depending on who it is going to help pass on to the next life.
It’s crazy to me that death isn’t just like, a villain in that movie. He’s literally the grim reaper of that universe. He definitely needs a re-appearance in shrek 5
What if there is an "immortal" enemy in Shrek 5? I say that, because then Death comes into play. Because knowing the character of the wolf, I think he would hate the fact that he mocks death itself, without valuing his life. (Maybe Cat together with Shrek and company will join forces with Death.)
The fact that one of the deaths in the beginning is actually a angel trying to stop a man from commiting suicide, so technically he isn't really considered death
Bruhhhh why you people are making fun of marvel?. And the meme women☕. Is against the b-tches in online. Not for a normal or fictional normal charecter. Go learn about it first.
Dreamworks Death is by far the most unique one out of them. Definitely a character to be respected. I imagine he is chill normally, it's just he was pissed at Puss for not caring about the lives he had so he went to him to remind him why Death needs to be respected.
@@apricat3796 probably because he didn't expect Puss to actually change. He thought he really was just some cat without a care for his life. Don't forget how he acted right as he left though, gaining a respect for Puss like Puss did for him. Puss learned, he respected that even if hr wasn't pleased about it
@@Bonniethebunny Yeah but my point is he isn’t a chill dude he enjoys crushing the pride people have and is disappointed when Puss changes, I don’t know how you got that he respected him he just looked annoyed and said he’ll be back and walked away
@@apricat3796 he started respecting Puss because Puss finally realized he needs to cherish his life, not throw it away carelessly like he did his other ones. He taught him to treasure his life because Death comes knocking eventually. It just took being chased by him for Puss to finally realize, and come to terms with that.
I have to say the animators did a great job on Death in Puss in Boots. His body has some unnatural proportions in some of his scenes that just give this uncanny feeling to his character, just like how I'd imagine an ancient being to feel.
The one thing I like about Dreamworks’s take on Death is how eerie his presence is.. the glowing eyes.. the grin.. his voice..these are the things that are missing on any version of the grim reaper
It’s honestly the most honest depiction of death if their was one. He was offended at this little brat who had extra lives and made it his mission to torment and kill him. He’s an uncaring entity whose sole goal is ending life. The only reason puss lived was because he impressed him, but even then he hasn’t escaped death, only delayed.
Playing with death so much that he took a physical form to kill you. But hey, atleast he delay it until when he did something that bring him so close to death that he just appear.
his sole goal isn’t really ending life though, it’s sort of just to keep the balance between life and death. he said he went after puss because puss kept cheating out of death with his 9 lives
Didn’t he go after Puss because he made such little use of the extra lives he got (that he didn’t deserve to have in the first place)? When he stopped trying to kill Puss, the reason was because he had changed and didn’t take his life for granted
Maybe because HE IS DEATH AND THAT'S HIS JOB?! You can't acuse Death for being Death. Also, I hightly disagree with you at the "uncaring entity". Just because he wanted to torment and kill Puss, doesn"t mean he is treating everyoane the same way.
It's actually wrong death have no face only skeleton hand and it's float and death have no emotions like the anime and cartoon shows death is only comes after u die no matter how many lives u have death only comes after the death of a person it's more like omnipotent spirit
Death is always scary. he's a shapeshifter and changes form in the context of the situation or characters he meets. take billy and mandy for example. He was used for comedy but still had nightmarish powers and could be terrifying if he wanted to be. Puss in Boots met a very aggressive form of death because he didn't take him seriously. Puss only believed in his own legend and Death humbled him
The fact that he didn't add grim gives me a type of anger and depression unimaginable. He's quite literally the most known iteration of death in all of *CARTOON* Network. Come on man.
@@LuckClover1 tf are you talking about The title is *LITERALLY* death in *OTHER* cartoons. Take that dumbass shit elsewhere. It's a post that could've used any variation of death. I'm not about to argue with a Neanderthal. I don't even know how tf you came to this conclusion. Are you blind by chance? Or are you just that retarded you COMPLETELY overlooked the *ENTIRE POINT OF THE FUCKING VIDEO* I don't understand how people are really this stupid it's mind-boggling
Yeah, I’m pretty sure Death’s supposed to be ambiguous in the Puss in Boots series. Plus wouldn’t it be realistic if he shapeshifts into Humpty Dumpty, or Kitty Softpaws, or hell… even Dulcinea and Evil Puss from the tv show?
The choice to make death a wolf is such a great idea, holy hell. Wolves are the folkloric big bad. If there's a wolf in a fairy tale, it's a villain. This movie is so good.
Yea but the only problem is its a furry and that makes is bad. I mean ye cats are afraid of dogs and wolf is kind of a dog so yea wolf makes sense a little.but like I would prefer a skeleton.
