Counting down all of Deathspell Omega's albums, from my least favorite to my favorite. This includes the brand new album "The Long Defeat", which was just released last week.
I’ve only heard “Si Monvmentvm…” so far but enjoyed that one. I’m going to start delving into more of their stuff later today if I have time. Thanks for the killer video yet again! 🤘🤘

Deathspell is definitely one of my favorite bands of all time As Wyattxhim would say “The French do it best” they don’t have a single bad album at all 10 Infernal Battles (Kinda Generic Darkthrone worship, still there’s some decent riffs) 9 Inquisitors of Satan (A better version Infernal Battles but still it’s not what I come for with Deathspell) *Now we get into the stuff I really love* 8 Synarchy of Molten Bones (Their weakest of the Mikko Aspa era but still would get an 8/10 from me at-least) 7 Si Monvmentvm (When Deathspell became Deathspell without a doubt their most important album and one of the most important black metal albums ever imo) 6 The Long Defeat (This album steadily rises on here it’s fantastic I’m interested where they go from here) *Now we get into the Masterpieces* 5 Drought (One of my Favorite EPs) 4 Furnaces of Palingenesia (What a way to end the 2nd era of this band, easily one of the best albums to come out in the 2010s) 3 Kenóse (Surprised this isn’t considered an album due to the length but also one of my favorite EPs ever) *Both albums I would take with me if I were ever stranded on a island both of these albums would make my top 10 Black Metal albums list of all time* 1B Fas Ite (It’s still one of the greatest albums I’ve ever listened to. Even though it’s Technically #2 in this Case) 1A Paracletus (This, Ecailles de Lune, and Enslaved’s In Times are my top 3 favorite Black Metal albums ever)
Nice! Love the details, I can feel your love for the band through your comments! I should have included the major EPs too, I would also have had them ranked pretty high. I am really liking the new album too, its different but still excellent. Oh man, top 3 black metal albums of all time, that is a very difficult ranking for me to choose, but definitely something I will do at some point, like a top 25 or 50 or something. Cheers!
Solid ranking! Thanks. I would have at least included Kenose and Drought. Especially in underground metal making a difference between a full length and an ep feels really arbitrary.
Thanks! And ya fair point...I actually almost included those 2 EPs, but then I thought I should include all the EPs, so I eventually just decided to rank the full lengths. Thats usually what I do for these ranking videos, but ya probably makes sense to include the EPs sometimes, especially when those 2 are so monumental.
