Nightwing is the most skilled of the Robins. He's the closest to being Batman or even surpassing him. He's literally the one capable of being Batman. However, if any of the Robin's stood a chance, it would be Jason because he could've been the most skillful if he wasn't so impulsive and emotional.

You might say this is a bad example albeit Green Arrow said quote on quote “He kicked our asses”. Even Batman in that issue also said it was fair and they lost, and we all know Batman hates and not hates Jason and is never willing to say directly that Jason is a good fighter or son, and Batman is arrogant yet Humble and admitted it was fair. He also sneaked up on DeathStroke which is incredible. DeathStroke admitted he was dangerous so if DeathStroke said it you have to believe it. @@kumalala3130 i do read the comics. and I will agree jason will give him a fight alright, but everytime it looked like hood had the edge in a fight it was story driven/the fight being interrupted in one way or another. Dick has more combat skill, he's faster, more agile and is overall a smarter fighter.
I know Jason uses lethal force but he isn't about to shoot Dick. Dick has more combat expertise and skill imo. And even if Jason used his guns there have been a plethora of times he's relied on them too much and it's bit him in the booty, leaving him with a ton of "oh shit" moments when he's either out of ammo, his guns are removed from the fight or they just don't help in a certain situation.

As a Red Hood fan I agree Nightwing wins because Jason is more of a "Punisher" type which involves a lot of shooting while Nightwing is more of the "Batman" type which involves more tactics and skills plus more intelligence plus he doesn't let emotions get in the way.
Why is this a debate? It's a no brainer, Nightwing is the best fighter Bruce has ever trained, he even beat Batman in hand to hand from time to time. Unfortunately, the animated movies hate Nightwing and make him get his arm broken in EVERY MOVIE. They don't do him justice at all, especially in that fight against Batman. Red Hood is the third best fighter out of all the Robins, second being Damian. Jason's skills is mostly used for killing, which requires less effort. Not to mention, he relies on fighting dirty, which is something Nightwing is familiar with while fighting bad guys and can easily adapt. That's like having Jason going up against a more agile Batman. Dick wins, that's it.
Good point but I think there has to be a guilt factor. Every time Batman fights Red Hood he would be reminded of his failure to protect him. That likely makes him hold back more against Jason than anyone else
I don’t think Jason is the third best fighter I’m pretty sure he’s second. He could whoop Tim if he wanted to and Tim has d sad horn he could handle Damian easily. At one point didn’t dick (as Batman) have to stop Tim because Tim got sick of Damian and was kicking his ass?
At the start of their lives Nightwing was training his body towards the peak of acrobat perfection. He was able to perform the quadruple flip at a young age. Red Hood on the other hand was learning street smarts( parkour brawling enviormental awareness). Training they both trained under Batman. Red Hood trained under a older and slightly more experienced batman however Nightwing continued to learn from Batman every once in a while after he became nightwing. Nightwing has also fought Cassandra Cain and Deathstroke to a standstill (Deathstroke usually wins). He also has been able to withstand telepathic attacks by shear willpower. Speaking of willpower this is an area Red Hood wins in. Red Hood was resurrected in a lazurus pit and then went on to train under some very evil people. All this was done while having a lot of anger and vengenace pent up inside him. He then went to Gotham and confronted batman (the man who failed him) all without falling into the murder happy state that Batman would if he ever let himself kill. All this is more impressive since the Lazurus pit is known to cause mental instability. All that being said Nightwing has been fighting people with guns and lethal tactics his whole career. Nightwing's age, experience, and acrobatic skill would win this fight 95% of the time.
Wow, this is a great debate! Huge Batman and Robin fan here. Nightwing happens to be my favorite superhero. Specifically Dick Grayson. Now I'm not just saying this because Nightwing is my favorite hero, but Nightwing would beat Red Hood. Nightwing has the edge over Red Hood with being an overall good fighter. Red Hood mainly uses guns or other weapons. Plus Dick has his night sticks too. Both are cool heroes, but I gotta go with Nightwing.

In Batman and Robin Eternal: "Mother" storyline, Orphan (Cassandra Cain) "said" once, Red Hood (Jason Todd) is the Brawn, Red Robin or Drake (Tim Drake) is the Brain, and Nightwing (Dick Grayson) is the Heart. Heart means Nightwing will put his family's (Bat family) safety first before his own life. Nightwing has been the leader for the Justice League, that takes BALLS. Red Hood might be physically stronger than Nightwing, but Nightwing has no fear. He plays chicken with Batman when they are swinging in the air, daring Batman to wait with using the grappling gun. First one to use the grappling gun is a chicken. So yes, Nightwing got BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG BALLS. Against Jason, there will be no fight, because Jason is family, from Nightwing's point of view.

Red Hood is my favorite anti hero but seeing how he was in the comics and movie he's too reckless but he did have a stand still between Batman, Red Hood has been trained by the league of assassin's making him deadly, Nightwing has gymnastics and Kombat training and he can handle himself against Deathstroke in Titans. It's difficult choice to pick but in Arkham Knight Jason knew where the weak point in Batman's armor was so he might know where Nightwing's weak spot is. I'm gonna go with Red Hood bc Jason seems to cover up more of the seems than Dick, Jason can go into a blind rage and he could take down Nightwing and he could know his armor weak point is and take his shot there
I think that blind rage is exactly why he would lose, part of why nightwing talks so much is to make people angry cause it makes them sloppy and reckless and that's when he makes his move, but he'd definitely have to earn it

Night Wing and it ain’t even close. Night Wing definitely top 10 most skilled fighters in DC Comics. Dick Grayson would WIPE HIS ASS with Red Hood. In terms of a strategic stand point it’s pretty tuff not gonna lie. I feel like they’re really about the same. When Jason Todd came back he had a pretty good strategy against Batman... I’d give it to Red Hood. Especially if where talking after Flashpoint. Jason in the N52 has his Robin Training, His Training with the All -Caste(Mystic warrior), and Still trained with Assassins and Mercenaries of the League of Shadows during his “Lost Days”(Which includes Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva). Jason Has Wins over Bronze Tiger, Lady Shiva, Ras Al Ghul, Deathstroke, And Batman himself in the N52. Jason’s body is also Peak due to the Lazarus Pit so it’s even between him and Dick physically. And Jason has his All-Blades(Soul swords he can summon) Jason even has better control over his anger now. Dick really only has his Leadership, Acrobatics and Strategy over Jason. Close fight but Jason FTW.

This is like Leonardo versus Rafael it will always be close however one will always have more skills than other and a better understanding of the other opponent and in this case nightwing is clearly it even though yes red hood does have editions training feats you have to understand that Nightwing has push his body far beyond the point where it’s almost equal or great than batman skills and technique
Chuck Dixon's run was the definitive run for me too. Loved Tom King and Tim Seeley's run on Grayson too although people these days are a little sensitive about the series.
Nightwing, Red hood is strong but dick grayson is the successor to the Batman cape, he even got to occupy that position. adapting more to hand-to-hand combat without the need for weapons
Nightwing would win, he is smarter more experienced and had more training from the bat himself. However Red hood would give him a very tough fight as he has no limits to how far he would go and full of blood rage which would make him unpredictable. Either way it would be an awesome fight and I love both characters more than most in the dc universe
Outlaw By Nature Dick Grayson has been stated to be Batman’s equal. Nightwing has decades of experience fighting different Metahumans and martial artists.
The thing is, Jason is ready to actually kill whereas Dick isn't that kinda guy. If we assume that both of them are trying to kill each other, then Dick wins due to being a superior martial artist, acrobat, detective and endurance.
Even though Red Hood is armed and ready to kill...Dick Grayson has been trained to handle potential killers since he was a child,and since he left Batman,he's only gotten better,Red Hood has an unpredictability about him,plus his LOA training,but dealing with fighting someone more collected and calm throughout a fight,Nightwing takes it.
Nightwing is the most skilled. Half the reason Jason was such an annoyed robin was cuz he felt like he could never live up to dicks skill as robin and would never be good enough for batman. Dick has more gymnastic/acrobatic and combat skills sooo yeah
While I love Jason, Dick’s got him beat. I don’t think it’s a matter of training, because they’re both around the same (Batman pre-trains his Robins before letting them go out on the field) It’s a matter of mentality. Jason’s probably physically stronger, but Dick’s stronger mentally. Jason in a fight, with Dick especially, would lose his cool and get sloppy. Dick would take advantage of that and stop him, then probably give him a brotherly scolding. So, Nightwing, for sure
Nightwing is a nimble fighter. His agility is similar if not better than Batman. I always think of Red Hood as a more aggressive version of Batman. I feel like he is also a good tactician but I think both of them are good at that since they both led a group of other heroes. Jason also briefly trained more as seen in Lost Days but I think Dick had a more extensive training since he was alive longer 😂
