In my personal opinion, most Protestant denominations lost all their gravitas when they started affirming the LBGTQ plus lifestyle. They moved too far from God and there are very few churches now but still a firm true Christian values. You can welcome those people into your church, but you can’t affirm and celebrate what they’re doing or their lifestyle. As for the United States Constitution this country right now is living in a post constitutional state the government has become way too powerful, something to constitution was designed to control.

Our US government is absolutely based on a Creator. Our nation seeks our rights from God! The Declaration of Independence states we are ‘endowed by our Creator certain inalienable rights of which are life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness’. Duh!

Beautifully summarized in ch. 11-13 of “The Myth of Religious Neutrality” by Roy A Clouser which presents Dooyeweerd's theory of reality/society/”the state”. Ch. 1-10 set the ground work for ch. 11-13. (from the amazon blurb) “Written for undergraduates, the educated layperson, and scholars in fields other than philosophy, The Myth of Religious Neutrality offers a radical reinterpretation of the general relations between religion, science, and philosophy.”

Some comments and questions for you and Stephen Wolfe to consider: Article VI of the U.S. Constitution states, in part, that "This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land." The Treaty of Tripoli, unanimously ratified by the Senate in 1797 affirms, in part, that, "the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion." Combining those two facts with the fact that, nowhere in the Constitution do the words God, or Christian, or Christianity occur, in what sense do you believe the Founders thought they were establishing a government on Christian principles? "All the nations are as nothing before [the LORD]; they are accounted by him as less than nothing than emptiness." (Isaiah 40:15) Given that, what is Christian about Christian nationalism? Finally, Revelation 13:9-10 reads, "Let anyone who has an ear listen: If you are to be taken captive, into captivity you go; if you kill with the sword, with the sword you must be killed. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints." How does that square with any notion of seizing a moment to overthrow a government to establish or re-establish Christian principles? I can't say whether your principles are right or wrong, but I can't see how, as self-described protestants or evangelicals, you can call them Christian with a straight face. Be honest with yourselves: you are Christians, or you are nationalists, but you can't be both.

I vote red but I hate this religious stuff. Yes, some laws, not many, over lap with Christian values, but leave it there! Religion and government should not mix! Keep your beliefs to yourself and we’ll all get a long better. No one ever won a religious argument. There’s no point in having one. End of discussion.

If you want to change the texture of our country toward a more Christian form, focus on your personal relationship to Christ and his example, not something of your own making. By the way many of the founding fathers were Deiests, Masons and other stripes of religious devotion that aren't characterized by orthodox Christianity. The interveiwer and you, yourself might profit by studying authentic history and quit the perpetuation of inaccurate information.
