That’s part of GRIEVING. When a person is grieving they aren’t thinking logically most of the time so of course he would have this type of reaction. It’s wrong but at the same time he’s grieving. After a while I’m pretty sure he’s gonna know what he said was wrong
she literally told him she had nobody to speak to and he still had the audacity to make her feel unwanted. jfc you’re not the only victim dawg, should’ve been obvious from her demeanor.
@MichaelDouglas-fd7gn I'm sure she suffered more than the guy whose wife was brutally murdered by her husband greatest hero on earth. Is it that hard to put that in perspective. It's like if a guy shot your wife or girlfriend and you go to group therapy/ Anonymous meet up and the guys wife/girlfriend is there.
tbf he did act like this outside the support group meetings pretty sure debbie didn't report it and just left she felt guilty pretty much the momment he confessed to her (i know it isn't her fault but shes just empathetic and blames herself at least from my pov)
@@TheDiscoGenre I get that, I'm saying that if his behavior were revealed to the therapist then he would have been removed from the group for confronting her like that.
""Wouldn't be a safe space with you there" Yes because they're all so much safer with their exes also having superpowers and possibly knowing they're there
@danknhshinki73 I actually understood this support group was for dealing with having a signifikant other that is part of the superhero life. Are there some member there because of bad experiences with them rather than stress/ spouses death?
@saratsukiyami "How was I supposed to know?!" "For so many years I was alone, I didn't have anyone but my son Mark to raise and love." "I truly thought that every time Nolan left me alone with Mark that he was out there risking his life in order to protect our world." "And now all of a sudden when my son became a superhero too, it was around this time where I found out who Nolan truly was." "A tyrant."
@@SonySlasher2468 It's not his fault either. It seems like everyone believes that he should forget his pain and support someone who makes a bad decision, which directly caused his pain and suffering. No one forced her to do what she did and the decisions she made. She gave Noland the key to the world, she have foult of what happen.
@@saratsukiyamilmao what? She was in a normal relationship, quite literally if she wasn’t in that relationship omniman would’ve killed most of the population and took over the planet. Crazy you’re trying to blame her for anything
@@coolspider295if not for that marriage, her wife would be killed a lot sooner and just because Omni Man missed lunch. But hey at least the chances of him reuniting with her would be a lot higher.
Ya know einstein originally supported oppenheimer right?...and advocated for the building of the atomic bomb...it's not until after Pandora's box was opened and they realised they couldn't put the genie back in the bottle that everyone suddenly had moral or ethical concerns...just saying.
I get that he is angry. He has every right to be, but to take it out on the person who didn't even know what his true intentions were is messed up. Yeah she was married to him, but that doesn't mean she can read his mind. What he said to her wasn't deserved.
Well… Alana was this guys wife, and Olga was a girlfriend right? And the way she and the super (sorry, don’t remember his name) acts, shows they weren’t in the best moment at his death. It’s a real different situation
@@saratsukiyami No Olga was Josef’s wife. They loved each other. The problem was just Josef’s powers made it hard for him to stay still. Time is essentially slowed for him. He says Olga is the only person he can talk to.
I swear I saw you copy paste this comment to literally every reply 💀 I'm convinced you're in love with Debbie. I mean, I wouldn't be going out of my way to copy paste the same words so many times for my favourite character unless I'm madly in love with them.
I know everyone talks about how strong Debbie and I have to agree. She's being put through the grinder because of Nolan's sins over and over but she fights hard not to let it bring her down.
Few things: 1. I feel so bad for Debbie. 2. Even though her ex husband was a psycho, her son is the reason why Omni man left, but it incredibly easy to understand the negatives. Like I don’t blame this guy for reacting the way he did. But it’s not Debbie’s fault either. 3. To be honest, “Spouses of Superheroes” would make a fantastic series on its own. It’d be interesting to see the lines between superhero life and normal life blur, and then you’d have a bit of action here and there.
She wasn't kicked out of the group. Also she'd have had every right to go back to the group and have him removed. He's grieving and illogical, and his reaction is very human, and also being a huge asshole at the same time which is a testament to the good writing. But acting like he's the only one with the right to grieve and denying someone else the same right is a mega ultra asshole move out of practically prying it out of her then punishing her for it.
And this is why I no longer go to support groups. While this is fictional, the bad real experiences I had were pretty much like this. Hurt people are the cruelest individuals you can meet and all they did was to show me kind and nice people like Debbie or her son Mark are very, very rare, almost fictional, because most people are either like this guy or like Omni man.
Personally I never quite saw the purpose of support groups. Yes you can talk about your experience, but it really doesn't sound like a good idea to have 10 people with massive depression and trauma sulk about how miserable they are with each other. I feel like that just makes it worse.
She was just a pawn in Nolan's plans and Green Ghost's blood is on his hands his actions are not affiliated with Debbie he is sick for putting that on her screw him.
I hope they have a scene where Debbie runs into this guy again and he can see the error of his ways. That would be a great meeting for character development
The fact that Green Ghost was killed at all is laughable. She has Martian Manhunter abilities, she could have simply become intangible and left. Surviving and being able to identify Omni Man as the killer. Weak hero.
Okay, to defend this scene, this does perfectly depict how people in real life would usually try to find ways to blame other people for their own problems whether out of personal spite as such, regardless if they're at fault or not.
Their grief is different Nolan lied to Debbie and called her a pet which made her angry and upset the guy the love of his life was brutally murdered by Nolan and he hates him so when she revealed the truth to him he couldn’t control himself he doesn’t hate Debbie he just doesn’t want to be associated with the murderers family
Indeed. Look I mean no offense when I say this. But he was kind of right. After Nolan killed the guardians of the globe. Debbie should have seen more of his true collars a bit.
I really like to think he only lashed out at Debbie because seeing her and knowing she was Omni-man's wife is too painful for him. Not because he truly blames her.
Alot of people hate this guy for his reaction to Debbie being the wife of Omni-Man but i think that its a very real portrayal of grief. During the Vietnam war the same thing happened in the military neighborhoods where some of the wives that had lost their husbands overseas were bitter and hostile towards the women whose husbands had made it home. That doesnt make his treatment of Debbie ok, but its still understandable seeing as how hes a grieving spouse who truly loved his wife
Yeah the man must see that his anger towards Debbie is unfair, but he still can't help himself. Without Omni-Man, his wife is the closest thing to a proxy he can hate.
Why? We, the audience, know Debbie, he doesn’t. And she just exposed herself as the spouse of his wife’s psycho murderer over drinks. How do you expect someone whos in potentially more pain than her to react in that instant?
@@CJ-du3wm maybe hear her out? Dude beat his son almost to death. Seems rational to make an assumption that she was maybe being abused into staying or something if she did know? I get omniman murdered his girl but onmiman also tried to murder his own son. Most people don’t know invincible is his son but at the very least they know omniman was hostile as hell
People give this guy a hard time, but dont seem to realize that people deal with grief in different ways. If you had the love of your life violently snatched away from you and you never got (or could get justice) you'd want to place your anger somewhere. Honestly, he handled it pretty well all things considered. He easily could have pretended to comfort Debbie and then kill her later.
@@RonaldMcreepy I never claimed he was a saint (if that's even a thing). But I've seen so many people call him a "bad person". If you lost a loved one to a notorious serial killer, opened up to a stranger, and later found out the stranger was the serial killer's child, you'd probably wouldn't handle it too well.
litterally me ever being open and honest about myself. people will litterally say im their best friend but as soon as they find out where im from instant disgust and they leave me
He appeared to be decent person but lets see: Victim blaming, gaslighting, and social manipulation. Alarming qualities in a human being. That guy may have valid reasons to struggle and hurt but he took it out on a victim and successfully isolates her through a bluff meant to guilt trip and shame her so he has control over her because he feels he doesn’t have any in his own life. I guess if you can’t progress through your own grief you can always kick someone else while their down. You should NEVER attempt to deprive someone resources and support systems just because you also hate the person that ABUSED them. That was a disgusting thing to do. He convinced her that NO ONE would help her. He spoke on behalf of an entire group that he doesn’t even lead and that’s some toxic gatekeeping behavior on steroids
His reaction is realistic. You cant expect someone to be emotionally intelligent in times of grief. Most of the time the pain overtakes your rationality.
Oohhh this is soooo gross. It’s like attending a support group of victims of a mass shooting while being the parent of that shooter. This is heartbreaking for everyone 😢
Technically not her fault though. Omni man made their lives a living hell but it's like the only universe where mark and omni man are the nicest. Because the other universe versions of them are blood thirsty
What a douche acting like Debbie could’ve stopped him. Like she should’ve known he was a mass murderer and done something about it. Even if she did know WTF is she gonna do!? Omni-Man could’ve and probably would’ve killed her if she dare try to turn him in.
The one thing I was taught is that everyone is responsible for themselves and you shouldn't blame one person because of their father mother brother sister or husband or wife you should blame the person that did it not the innocent people
Debbie is just as much as a victim and oblivious as you were that’s not her fault and he of all people should know that grief or no we are all in pain and suffering and just need someone to talk to
I was honestly pissed off at him for throwing shade at Debbie, but at the same time, he’s clearly grieving the loss of his loved one. There should be a part in the future where these two meet up again and the guy realizes how wrong he was for what he said here.
Why is everyone bad calling this man and not the source of this that is actually Omniman? This is an actual question. I think I'm missing something. The guy is grieving, he's angry, mighty difficult to be kind when you're this hurt. Poor Debbie tho, Nolan wrecked her life
He wouldn’t be in the support group if he was healthy, would he? This is what happens when you allow yourself to be blinded by grief and rage. She is just as much a victim as he is, but he refuses to think of it that way.
Wait... Am I missing something? Why did she go to a 'Spouses of Superheroes' support group, when she now knows her husband isn't the hero he pretended to be? Shouldn't she have looked for a 'Spouses of Villians' group? I'm pretty sure there would've been plenty of relatable men and women there. Hurt by the actions of their partners which affected them and others as well.
Honestly the only one at fault is omni man, sure the guy didn’t have to so aggressive about it but he just lost his wife and didn’t know about Debbie’s circumstances.
I am going to take what is probably considered the unusual approach and blame the alcohol. No, the characters aren't wasted/drunk/plastered, but it is still a depressant that tends to cause people to be less kind to each other than they would normally be without it. This substance never really "helps" Debbie in this series and while I wish she didn't use it as a crutch, I am glad the writers didn't sugar coat how nasty the use of it can be on people's lives even when people don't get completely drunk.
Dude, she literally told you that she had no idea who Nolan really was, that that 20 years of her life was all a lie, she’s an innocent woman who was being lied to by a genocidal maniac for 2 decades and you’re acting like she’s the bad guy here? That’s some nerve dude, maybe *YOU* shouldn’t come to these meetings anymore
@@sarapinkdiamond866 in The Boys there was superheroes gathering of people who got hurt by Supes ( at least I think that’s what the gathering was about).
He got me so mad.I wish someone would have said "yeah, well your wife got killed by having someone's hand go through her head, when she can become intangible. 🤔"
Wow, your girlfriend or wife or finance died because of someone’s husband that was lying to her this whole time and called her his pet. It’s been a whole year and you’re STILL whinging over your dead lover. Get over yourself.
"It’s been a whole year and you’re STILL whining over your dead lover. Get over yourself." of course someone with a thomas pfp wouldn't understand what it's like to lose a spouse at all
Lets be for real, you would NOT want to be friends with the spouse of your spouse's killer. You wouldn't want them to be anywhere around you. Especially when you know theyre still in a relationship and the killer is NOT going to face any consequences for killing your spouse. Plus the fact that Debbie does get back with Omni Man means he was right to feel that way. 😂
Let's be honest, we would all be him after what Omniman has done. We feel sorry for Debbie cause it's easy. But to find out what her husband did. That's more difficult
He might be right, it might not be a safe space with Debbie there, considering that people there don't know whether or not Omni-man will return. I can understand he need to feel safe and support and protect those at the group
This is why I can't stand the show. People only like it cuz it glorifies gore and death. Sure, it has its moments but like explained this scene? Omni man ain't even in earth no more and this guy still afraid of him cuz he might hear them talking bad about him? Then he saying she should have known he was evil??? Like wtf? 😂
@@spinestealer8129 cause her husband killed family of other people at the meeting....would you want a serial killers wife to be at the meetings of the victims families crowing about how they didn't know he was like that?
I can't believe this man is getting such hatred, didn't she go right back to him after all that he caused on earth and his affair. And she always knew he wasn't from earth. Honestly, Nolan only said hurtful words to Debbie others lost their life or watched their loved ones die. No she's not responsible for his actions but she didn't come forward after she found out the truth either. Trust me if your loved one was killed or murdered you wouldn't be happy seeing their family.
@@Norinia No, Debbie is a grown woman who is depressed and mourning the loss of her marriage, she didn't lose anyone but her mass murdering husband whom she watched beat her son, And after all he has done SHE CHOOSES to go back to him knowing he took another wife and he COULD kill again. She should've kept her identity to herself.
@@blkjem21Doesnt matter most of the people who watch the show dont know the comics so obviously they made their critics based on what they see on the show also like you said they can always change the storyline direction in the show etc Also you said in your og comment that "and she always knew he wasnt from the earth" so? I dont get it she still has no fault or anything +++ I wouldnt be angry see my loved one's murderers family i would maybe feel sad a little since they can remind me of that event but thats all other than that i wont feel any anger towards them or anything this is bullshit so its normal for him to get hatred it was unfair but i also get him a little i guess intense emotions sometimes made us say stupid things
