Debbie Gibson was only 16 years old when she was in the studio recording this first album. She wrote all of the tracks, while co-producing and mixing many of the tracks also. In the days when record companies were putting out teenage pop artist, Gibson was uniquely talented for all her skills. For fans of hers, there's an extended version of this song that pretty great also. GREAT REFLECTIVE REACTION!
She has a beautiful..instantly recognizable voice. When one path splits into two that diverge..that relationship is over. If they can run parallel and stay within sight of each other, there's hope for a reunion.
A song with sad lyrics, I guess we all sometimes have regrets about relationships, and if I'd have known then what I know now. Good song well performed-Colin Ward
Debbie and Tiffany were my first musical crushes back in the 80's. The song comes to life when watching the video. Debbie wrote her own songs, probably lived this one.
My father got to see her singing at a BabyO's bar in Seaside Heights back in Summer 1987. She'd just started her career & already had an upcoming Hit. He said she was amazing 🎉 & sang, "Only In My Dreams".
I guess she was the Taylor Swift or Katy Perry of her time! Although it's difficult to catagorise music or anything with any real precision! This tune is pretty sad and nostalgic! Not bad! Goodbye groovy 🐧 penguins!
Regarding what you said at the end about relationships, my take is neutral at this point! Both genders can be so complicated and nearly impossible to understand! No wonder 🤔 a lot of people are turning to AI, like chat bots, AI girlfriends and boyfriends and the like! It seems like our options are not looking too promising these days! But know that hope never dies, and no one knows how anything will turn out! Life is full of surprises! Stay tuned and have a good one!
I remember this song. It came out when I was 15 years old. She was pretty popular but not exactly a vocal powerhouse. (yes, I still know all the words) I have a screwed up brain where I remember most everything in my life.
Hello High School.🤓 Debbie had a nice run in the late 80’s. Also, thanks for sharing, Angela. Ultimately, with the break-up, you most likely did yourself and your ex a favor. Sometimes you need to let go in order to move forward. ✌🏽
