Deborah Cox played the same role as Whitney in the musical version of the Bodyguard. I think she has really studied Whitney's voice to play that role. She sounded amazing when I saw the musical. Very talented!
I'm SO glad you did this! I'm a big fan of BOTH! But Deborah is SOoOo slept on!! Her tone is UNDENIABLE! And she's hugely influenced by Whitney so the references you made were SPOT on. -- You should check out Deb & Tamia doing "Same Script, Different Cast" (the Women of Soul 2005 video has a better sound) It's originally by Whitney/Deborah but Deborah does the Whitney part and Tamia does Deborah's part. It's AMAAAAZING.

I’m sorry no shade at all. But How do you not know “Tamia” but you’re a vocal critic. Tamia was hand picked by David Foster AND Quincy Jones ( who came out of retirement and did a whole album with her at the forefront. She is the first Artist he chose to work with AFTER thee Michael Jackson). Imma need you to education yourself on her catalogue . Just my opinion.
