You're NOT crazy. If nothing else, the insane weekly price rises mean you'll be eating things you LIKE when others are NOT. We live in a tiny apartment, and are now literally stacked to the gunwales. Tinned potatoes are a G-dsend for when you're making something and boiling just 1 or 2 (or ANY) is not an option (or too much of one LOL). JUST TRYING TO HELP - here's a SUPER-easy Italian dish that's perfect for people like us: 2 tins Cannellini beans (or Great Northern, or Navy, or White Kidney) WITH THE LIQUID, 1 tin diced tomatoes (pref. with Italian seasonings, but if not, add your own). You can toss in meat - diced Pancetta, ham, sausage (not much, literally just a handful - and meat is NOT necessary), add a cup or 2 of cooked firm pasta (Rotini, Fusilli, tubetini, etc). Add garlic & Italian spices. Toss in a small slow cooker for an hour or 2 on high, and 2-3 hours on low. BAM. Super tasty, super easy, super protein meal.

They stopped passing budgets and have desensitized us to “Continuing Resolutions” and “Increasing the debt Ceiling” and fill bills with pork and pet projects that personally make them millions. I think I’ll pass a bill to increase my debt ceiling and head on vacation today!🤬

Sunshine, an idea is to buy yourself the refill propane adapter to fill one pound tanks using the 20lb.tanks..

There’s pain and great caring in your voice. I appreciate your videos and your tips. Here’s one for you - consider stashing some coconut oil along with your regular oils. MUCH longer shelf life and little flavor. I’ve also started adding some canned meat broths to my stash. Yeah, the organic broth in cartons is great - but very short shelf life. This adds flavor to those beans we are always cooking! Also, a big YES to advice about a stash o’ cash in the event of….whatever…..as well as moving some money into silver and gold. Stay safe!

Get an extension hose for your buddy heater so you can hook it up to a 40lb tank a 10' hose should work. Just make sure it's a hose made by Mr Buddy, otherwise you may need to add a filter to it to filter any oils that come off the hose it's self, so it does not clog up your Mr Buddy heater. This will give you a longer duration to use your heater should you need it to last longer than 12 hrs. With an oil filter you could hook it up to a 25 gallon /100lb tank for increased usage. The filters are not too spendy.. $9-$12 or so and you can get them on Amazon as well. I hope this helps.

You presented this information really well in this video. Also, I love my paper plates and disposable coffee cups. I see them as preps, but I also use them throughout my week as a single parent. There's only so much we can do in a day, so if some disposable dishes help us get through the day then I'm all for it, especially at this season of life that I'm currently going through. FYI about the cooking oil ----- the coconut oil I'm buying now has an expiration date of 12-24. It's more expensive but it's also more "shelf stable" and it's a good prep. BTW - I don't think I've ever watched one of your videos without thinking about the video you did a LONG TIME AGO where you felt in your gut (I believe it was God speaking to you) that ONE DAY --- you will "feed people". Sunshine, if you hit edit button under each grocery item you pick what you want it substituted with or hit don't replace. You can also return it if you don't want it. Thanks for the great video. I think canned goods are a very important part of food storage since they typically have a long shelf life. We may not eat these goods every day....or even weekly....but if things get bad, those canned soups and veggies will be a welcome sight in the stockpile pantry.

The new floor to ceiling shelf is on the agenda for today... I'll need room again soon. Today is my birthday. I tried a heavy square pan for 🌽 cornbread muffins, but it's hard to get the wood stove exactly the right temp. Next time I'll try the skillet. I went and got some wood but haven't been to the store in two weeks. I guess that I cashed in too many of the $5 dollar general coupons, they've done away with it and they have some online thing now. I had to get two loads of wood ; the first were just too nice to burn many of them, so they're going on the shelves. I signed up three weeks ago to get another years worth of food from the Cherokees. They were having a 25% off sale ( of one item) at Harbor freight so I drove over to get a hand grinder. I picked up a pound of welding rods too. So the Willy nilly college girl that checked out my stuff gave me the discount on the $8 welding rods instead of the$40 grinder, while I was putting the basket up. I'm not going back there anymore. I put a wire brush wheel on the older, cheaper grinder. The wood stove is keeping it nice at no cost. It's in the 20s outside, It's 75 in here. Tater chips are getting harder to find. I found some at a local store called red hot, family size for one dollar so I'mma go get another 15 of those today. No one else is buying them, lol. I'm about out of space to put much more, it's getting small. I'll get a few buckets. I need one for powdered eggs. My new propane torch will be here in the next few days. That's good because it's supposed to snow here about Thursday or Friday. I'll put a roast in the crock and set it on the wood stove. I bought a big 10 pound bag of Texas oranges yesterday for $12. Was glad to get them. I managed to get some lemons too. It's forecast for snow next month here. I keep waiting for the 15 pound jug of propane to run out on the single burner stove. It's getting lower pressure but it's not out yet. That jug has lasted for about four months. I bought an adjustable regulator and four foot hose for about twenty bucks and another adapter to the little bottles like you're showing here for fourteen bucks. So instead of the little bottles, I use a barbecue grill jug. Costs $22.50 to replace it. I keep a spare jug. It's a lot cheaper. I only use the one pound bottle for the torch to light the fire with. And I have the adapter to fill it from the bigger jug. So no running to get a little bottles. I used steel wool and cleaned up an old one for the torch bottle. If I wanted to use the torch for a long time, I can connect it to the hose, and run it off the big jug. That lets me regulate the pressure to get the best flame. The last time I bought the little one pound bottles, they were $5 a pair. I thought they were too high then. Yeah they're like $10 something I guess. Haven't been to Walmart in two years. They've taken everything out of the dollartree store but the new one isn't open yet. I know... you've given me an idea. I'll make a bucket of popcorn. Take them out of the box, and fill a bucket. How did you know that I was getting low on it ?

Interesting thoughts you have on the world problems. Everything seems to be on the table and very possible at this point. On the canned food recipe... Recently, I made a chicken and mushroom strudel recipe that was on the Food Wishes YT channel but I used almost all canned foods. Took it to the party and it was wiped out with people asking for the recipe. I too just laughed to myself.

I do the same with the black eyed peas and those greens.. I get the Simply Seasoned greens. Makes a super quick, easy tasty meal. I make some mashed potatoes as well.. any other veg you like. Yum.

Debt ceiling means nothing other than huge govt offices that would not be missed get a few days off. Medicare social security.Medicaid all will keep going. You are correct about war. I am 70 and these scary scenarios have been going on for years. I really do not worry about this.

Popcorn is a great prep! Even if electricity is down, you can still take it out of the microwave bag and pop it in a pan. Not only does it make a great comfort food, but you can actually grind it into cornmeal in a pinch. I stock this by the bagful!

Thankfully I found out they were charging full price for substitutes before I did my last pickup order from Walmart. I told them no substitutions. When I order my once of month groceries it's the rest of my money after bills for the month.

I was so annoyed that Walmart changed their substitution policy. I wanted two gallons of great value 2% milk and they didn't have any so they substituted them for a brand that's $10 for ONE gallon!!! I wasn't about to spend $20 on milk. Grateful for my preps as I had some shelf stable milk for my toddler.

I am a new subscriber. :) I totally agree with you! I do the same thing getting some canned goods. The popcorn I get the kernals and put a 1/4 a cup in a plain paper lunch bag, fold at the top. You can use tape to secure or even staples...3 across the top..yep, really. Pop in microwave for 2 to 3 minutes depending on your machine. Add whatever toppings after the popped. I have a video on it on my yt channel. :)

I'm tired of all these companies raising prices as they please. In my area residents started reporting a nearby supermarket to the BBB for not only hiking prices weekly but for also over-charging at the register as well. Not only were they cited but also found themselves on the local news.

Saw a comment yesterday but I can't remember if it is a quote. It said "This world is not falling apart, it's falling in place." It seems we are closer to the Lord's return prophecy wise than most realize. Most important prep... Jesus.

I don't believe it should be raised. Government is bloated and spends too much and always has. Shut down the federal government except for the military and the citizens benefit program. Just give the rest a month time off without pay. Let the people who have had guaranteed employment and pay through the pandemic feel the way other people have felt. Especially take away the pay from the house of representatives and the Senate.
