Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has launched an international campaign to achieve recognition by the United Nations for an independent Palestinian state. Abbas and his international supporters claim that only Israel (with the United States) stands in the way of this act of historical justice, which would finally bring about peace in the Middle East.
This video debunks the Palestinians' claim and shows that Abbas has been lying about the origins and history of the conflict. Palestinian leaders have rejected partition plans that would have given them much more land for their independent state than the Jews were offered for theirs. Rather than being the innocent victims of a "dispossession" at the hands of the Israelis, the Palestinians rejected reasonable compromises and instead pursued their aim of getting rid of the only Jewish state in the world.

It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti-Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? It's surprising you're writing this bc it's not brought up as a point anymore: nobody brings up the "war" b/c that's been refuted. Look up what really happened in 1948. This alone should show you the Arabs in the area, if really wanted to fight, would've stepped in 1946-47, when word of the first massacres and expulsions were happening. At that time 200,000 Palestinians were expelled. Read abt it from different sources. In 1948, there was no "war" of combatants vs. combatants, and no historian now denies this. What really happened is the "Arabs" (what is that exactly? Sudanese speak Arabic and they are "black") weren't interested in fighting, ill-prepared (every history book, no matter the persuasion, says this), and rearraging themselves after colonialism. They were simply responding to the massacres happening in the villages next door! Village by village, the Haganah and Irgun plundered and massacred it's inhabitants. Heck, even mainstream Isreaelis will point this out, and so do historians. So your comment is not only inaccurate, it shows you deny what's really happening. Torture in prisons, raids in refugee camps, massacres, like the Flour Massacre last month (again, every news organization covered this-now undeniable).

This war started with the creation of the Zionist party. Truman was a greedy, and may he rot in hell for this, but he only supported the state of israel because he needed Jewish votes in the USA. Obviously, I have basic human morals, which means that I sympathize with the Jews for the disaster of the holocaust. But just because you suffered this does not mean that you can use Manifest Destiny to steal the land of an entire people. Unjust and disgusting. Personally, the Palestinians would have been fine if the Jews lived there peacefully, with healthy laws and a healthy amount of immigration done. But Britain had to go and dump them in Palestine, with illegal immigration, without consent, violating international law and ethics, signing the Balfour Declaration which also breaks international law, creating ILLEGAL settlements, and ignore all of this suffering until the times that we actually attempt to strike back from all the rape and burning and torture that the Zionists have subjected to us. But, you all act like the victims and label Islam, the only true religion, as a "religion of terrorists" for self defense. I agree that not all Jews are Zionists, which is why I have absolutely no hate for any of the Jews. Nor are we anti semitic, because THE ARAB COUNTRIES ARE SEMITIC COUNTRIES. It is unfair. Wrath and suffering upon the oppressors!

That's one of the best comments I've seen on this horrendous situation. It seems certain peoples/states are repeat offenders at it in the Middle East. Also, it's a shame more isnt' made of the fact that Hamas are not just another political party wanting their own state. They are religious extremists who want to turn the entire area back to some kind of medieval theocracy. The irony is how many in the liberal left support this ideology that hates liberal left values and wants to gain power precisely to exterminate those liberal values.

Firstly a disclaimer: Not a Jew, not an Arab, simply a Brit who studies Arabic at university and lived in Jordan (Amman) and Palestine (Ramallah) for a year. I lean more towards supporting Israel on the conflict (I refuse to use the term "pro-Israel" because it gives the impression that I side with Israel on all aspects, which would obviously be ludicrous), but ultimately see both sides as having good and bad within them. While overall this video is correct in the information it provides (and is 7 years out-of-date), it does also leave out events and information (the Deir Yassin massacre of 107 Palestinian villagers, the controversy surrounding Plan Dalet, the exploitation of Ottoman home ownership laws etc) that would more correctly portray both sides of the conflict (although admittedly not every single facet can be shown without the video becoming hours long). It also jumps from the conclusion of the 1948 war to the Camp David accords of the early 2000s, completely ignoring many important things that happened in-between such as the 6 Day War and the start of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the Khartoum Resolution, Black September, the Munich Massacre, the Yom Kippur War, the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty, the Israeli invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon, the First Intifada, the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty and the Oslo Accords. Post-2000 the video also ignores the construction of the West Bank barrier and checkpoints, the 2006 Lebanon War and the 2008 Operation Cast Lead. As for the information provided, whilst (as previously stated) the information is generally accurate, there are some mistakes that I'll correct: 0:45 - There were no borders pre-1967. After the conclusion of the 1948 war, the Israelis and the Arabs agreed to armistice lines separating Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt from Israel. The Arabs made it explicitly clear that these were simply ceasefire lines and didn't demarcate country boundaries, for the simple fact that it would unofficially be a recognition of Israel (which they refused to do). 1:46 - True, but while 10% were Jews, the majority of that 10% were recent refugees and immigrants from Europe making Aliyah. 3:28 (with reference to 2:31) - The Palestinian people didn't exist at this point as a national identity. Palestinian nationalism, the idea of the unique Palestinian people, arose as a response to Zionism and Israel and came to the forefront after the Arab defeat in the 6 Day War. At this point the now-Palestinians saw themselves simply as Arabs, no different from the other Levantines of Greater Syria, and pan-Arab nationalism and support of King Faisal was very much the default at the time (in fact his defeat and exile to Iraq after the 1920 Franco-Syrian War is one of the causes of the Nebi Musa Riots discussed from 3:22). It was mostly the collapse of the United Arab Republic in 1961; the humiliation of Abdel Nasser, the figurehead of pan-Arab nationalism, after his defeat in the 6 Day War; and the work of Yasser Arafat and his opposition to Zionism that led to the modern Palestinian national identity. 4:05 - Everything depicted here is true; however, it should also be noted that, along with 4 Arabs dying and 21 injured, sheiks of 82 Arab villages surrounding Jerusalem and Jaffa condemned the riots and attacks on Jews. 4:54 - Very true, there were many more riots and pogroms against the Jews, the worst probably being the massacres of 1929; however, as previously stated, this ignores Jewish attacks against the Arabs, the worst being of course the massacre at Deir Yassin. 5:49 - The Jews rejected the Peel Commission. 7:09 - Wrong order of events. After the declaration of the proposed UN Partition Plan in 1947, the Arabs started a civil war against the Jews which saw the beginnings of the Nakba. The other Arab states invaded in 1948 after the expiry of the British Mandate and the declaration of the State of Israel. 8:09 - The widely-accepted number of Palestinian refugees displaced in the Nakba is 700,000 or 80% of the population. 20%, or 150,000 Arabs, remained within Israel and became Israeli citizens (although under martial law until 1966). Specific cases to mention would be Haifa, where the Jews of the city pleaded with the Palestinians to stay and not flee as refugees; and the expulsions at Lydda and Ramle, where Palestinians were literally forced out of their homes at gunpoint under the threat of death. 8:14 - Not so much sent as they were already there due to fighting in the war, and they also occupied East Jerusalem. Worth mentioning as well that the Jordanians expelled every single Jew living within the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem and throughout the West Bank; denied all Jews, not just Israelis, any access to all holy sites within East Jerusalem and the West Bank (eg the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, Rachel's Tomb, the Cave of the Patriarchs etc - too many to mention really, the entire area is riddled with important historical Jewish sites) until their loss of the territory in 1967; destroyed synagogues, including blowing up the famous Hurva Synagogue in Jerusalem; desecrated ancient Jewish cemeteries; and looted and vandalised Jewish property. 8:40 - This is annoyingly misleading, painting the notion that the Palestinians reject peace agreements simply because they're against the very idea of peace with Israel. Just because the Palestinians disagree to the terms of a peace agreement doesn't mean they're anti-peace; similarly, just because Israel rejected the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative doesn't mean Israel is anti-peace, it just means they disagree with the terms of the agreement. 8:54 - Conflation of the Camp David Summit of 2000 and the Taba Negotiations of 2001. Yasser Arafat walked away from the Camp David Summit, true, but the terms of the agreement were nowhere near as favourable as the video says; instead, the terms the video talks about were part of the Taba Negotiations, which were ended by the Israeli PM Ehud Barak because of the upcoming Israeli elections - his successor, Ariel Sharon, never resumed the negotiations. This is still widely claimed to be the very closest they've ever got to a peace agreement, stating they were only mere weeks away from a final resolution. 9:16 - The Second Intifada began after Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount with an entourage of 100-odd Israeli riot police. Palestinians rioted against his visit, the Israelis cracked down of the riots, voilà Second Intifada. 10:06 - Skipped a bit. The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip then held the legislative elections in 2006. Hamas got the highest amount of votes, 44%, with Fatah getting the second highest at 41%. Hamas then took over the entire Gaza Strip, executing not only Fatah but all their political rivals, throwing them off buildings and driving them out to the West Bank; then they started the rocket launches against Israel, leading to the blockade in 2007. 10:12 - The Olmert Peace Plan is misrepresented here. The then-PM Ehud Olmert was convicted of corruption and bribery, indicted and sent to trial, stepping down as PM. This all happened just days after he summoned Abbas to the private meeting where he first brought up the proposed peace plan, saying that Abbas had to accept ASAP or it was off the table. At 10:43 there's a crucial mistake in that Abbas was forbidden from taking a map of the proposed agreement - Olmert refused to grant Abbas one after he asked. Abbas went back to his advisors and had to hand-draw the map from memory on a napkin, with his advisors rightly saying that agreeing to anything without proper perusal would be idiocy. Frankly the entire thing was dead in the water before it ever really began, it had no chance of happening. Wow this became a very long post, but the video needed a few corrections. Everything else mentioned in the video is correct to the best of my knowledge.

There was no such thing as a "Palestinian" until after the 6 Day War. "Palestinians" are Syrians & Egyptians living in Israel & were kept out of their country of origin after the Muslim's defeat by Israel. Israel is the Promised Land given to the Jews by God after their escape from Egyptian slavery. Muslims have been invading & conquering other countries since Mohamed founded the cult in the 7th century. Every muslim "holy site" is built on a place of importance to the people they conquered, just like they wanted to build a mosque at the World Trade Center after 9/11. It's a pretty common Israeli propaganda tactic to try and deny Palestinians their individual culture so they can say the land was really "barren" apart from some "Arabs" that have no particular connection to the land and should just go live in some of the many "Arab countries". But this is misusing the fact that statehood as such is a modern Western idea that only arrived in this area when the conflict arose. As a result Jews developed an Israeli national identity where before there was only a religious and cultural/ethnic Jewish identity, and so did Palestinians. But it's clear the "Arabs" of Palestine had a strong connection to the land and a distinct cultural and linguistic identity tied to that long before. So when you hear this argument know that it is wrong and anachronistic, trying to apply current day norms to a period when they didn't exist in that area yet.

That's been known a long time: "The Palestinian people do not exist. There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese. We are part of one people, the Arab nation. Lo and behold, I have relatives with Palestinian, Lebanese, Jordanian and Syrian citizenship. We are one people. It is only for political reasons that we carefully endorse our Palestinian identity. Indeed, it is of national interest for the Arabs to encourage the existence of the Palestinians in the face of Zionism. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity is only for tactical reasons. The establishment of a Palestinian state is a new means to continue the struggle against Israel and for Arab unity." - Zuheir Mohsen, Palestinian leader of the Syria-controlled as-Sa'iqa faction of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Excellent video, but important to note, since it can be misleading, on the point of Jews making up 10% of the population at the time. That might seem to some to imply that the muslim arabs made up the other 90%, but this was not the case. There were many different peoples living in the land at the time. To name a few other groups: Druz, Circassians, Christian Arabs, Baha'i, Bedouin,... Many of those groups stood with the Jewish people and are now citizens of Israel. Some of them even serve in the Israeli army (for instance the Circassians and the Druz are required to serve in the military).

@@duxd1452 Incorrect. According to the 1922 census: population 757, 182 Jews 83,794 ( about 11%) Christians 73,024 ( about 10%) (this category is further split into groups such as Arab christians, German templers, Armenians, etc.) (It is worth noting that the German templers kept getting kicked out by the British, during World War 1 and 2, and then either slowly returning or not, so while their numbers here at this time were around 700, this is not necessarily an accurate size of their community). 7,028 Druze (about 1%) and then yes, some of the other groups were each less than 1%, such as the Baha'is, Samaritans, Sikhs, etc. Muslims 590, 890 (about 78%) However, it is important to note that some groups, like the Circassians, were lumped into the Muslim group, because they are Muslim. But they are a separate non-arab ethnic group. When they arrived in the 1800s, they were around 4,700. Not sure how many they were at the time of this census. But they are just one example. What about other Muslim groups? So you're statement that these groups made up less than 1% in total is false.
@duxd1452
@duxd1452 4 месяца назад
@@AhavaMath I was using the latest census. But even in 1922 Palestinian Muslims were about 78% of the population, Jews about 11% (puts the partition plan that gave more land to the Israelis than the Palestinians into perspective). That's already 89%. Then there's 10% Christians (totallng about 73k) that were also mostly Palestinians. That gets you at least around 95% Palestnians and Jews in 1922. Those 0.92% Druze and 2% Sikh played no real role and apart from the Druze and Sikh every minority comprised less than 0,1% of the population in 1922.

Why no mention of the killing of Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli Prime Minister, in 1995, by Yigal Amir, an Israeli extremist? It bids to be one of history’s most effective political murders. Two years earlier, Rabin, setting aside a lifetime of enmity, appeared on the White House lawn with Yasser Arafat, to agree to a framework for limited Palestinian self-rule in the occupied territories including ceding most of the occupied territories back to the Palestinians; the next year, somewhat less painfully, he returned to the White House, with Jordan’s King Hussein, to officially end a forty-six-year state of war. Within months of Rabin’s death, Benjamin Netanyahu was the new Prime Minister and the prospects for a wider-ranging peace in the Middle East, which had seemed within Rabin’s grasp, were dead, too. Twenty eight years later, Netanyahu is into his sixth term, and the kind of peace that Rabin envisaged is more distant than ever.

A good explanation of a great deal of the historical diplomatic attempts at resolution of the issues. Unfortunately this skimmed over the circumstances and outcomes of both the 67 and 73 wars. This is something of a problematic omission and a new version of this video with further explication of these issues as well as the past 10 years would be really welcome. What is useful however, is the inclusion of the honest timeline of the real politics that led to the 47/48 crisis and subsequent refusal of any resolution. The establishment of Trans - Jordan and its implication in the now, 'refugee' status of Palestinian people, cannot be ignored but so often is - thanks for including it here. Equally, the fact of the Ottoman Empire and it's dissolution during and after WW1 is rarely discussed but quite essential to a broad understanding of this complex matter, again, nice job to include mention of this.

No one ever talk about ethnic cleansing in Muslim countries. Population of Christians and jews in Muslim countries reduce severely overtime. Meanwhile Palestine experience growing Muslim population since the 1940s. Muslims are so caught up in their own victimhood.

First: the decrease of Christian and jew population in Muslim countries due to :- 1. economic and stability reasons 2. In many of these countries unfortunately they don't follow their own religious laws that encourage justice for non- Muslims who live in a Muslim land, and the leaders use hate to fuel the general public against them ( the non- Muslim)to distract them from their own corruption. Second: the Palestine region issue is not about ethnic cleansing; it's about two main things :- 1. The aqsa mosque that is located in Jureslim is the 3rd holiest place in earth in our belief so hearing an occupier that he will destroy the 3rd holiest site in your Believe what would you expect their reaction to be ???🤷‍♂️ 2. The people of Palestine are our brothers and sisters in religion so when we hear and see them being treated like animals by the occupation force of Israel, you expect as to be silent???? Finally: this is the opinion of civilians in almost all Muslims in the world, and unfortunately the leaders in Muslim countries choose their own self interest and allow the suffering of the Palestinian to happen because most of them are dictators who are allowed to stay in power ( and not get heavily pressure by the west ) as long as they support the occupation force of Israel. Note: the bias opinion against the Palestinian is clearly obvious through out the video by making them seems as they are the one who doesn't want peace while the jews are when in fact it's just that the Palestinian know that the jews of the occupation force of Israel are hypocrite cuz they appear ( to the international community) as if they want to give the Palestinian their rights but they shout in their own media and strongly believe that the land from the Mediterranean sea to the furat River in Iraq and south til the Nile river in Egypt is their land and they will establish the land of Israel on it. So what do you expect the Muslims will think and do while seeing this hypocracy. The occupation force of Israel is giving the Palestinian poison within honey by offering the two state deal so they can weaken them and making them dependent on them like what they are doing in Gaza they practically controlling every basic need of Palestinian. And in fact they invaded Egypt before in attempt to control sinai area the suez canal but they backed out.

@@andrewevans4722 A list of everything wrong I found in this video, Part One, not exhaustive: 1) Omits any mention of the first Zionist Congress in 1987, and its conclusion to create a Jewish nation-state in Palestine with a Jewish majority, which would necessitate the removal of the native population. 2) Omits any mention of the Zionist settler colonists who came to Palestine before the end of WWI: around 65,000 to 75,000 Zionists settlers. 3) Calls pre-British Mandate Palestine “underdeveloped and underpopulated”. Palestine certainly was not underdeveloped. Much of Palestine was cultivated before the arrival of settler colonists. Palestinian Bedouins even used traditional farming techniques to cultivate parts of the Naqab Desert. In 1944 it was documented that, even after 62 years of Zionist settling, Palestinians’ cultivated land just in the Naqab desert was three times the amount of land that all settler Zionists in Palestine had cultivated. “Underpopulated” has no numerical or scientific definition, and its usage here serves merely as justification for settler colonialism. 4) Says Palestinians sorely lacked freedom of religion under Turkish rule-here referring to the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire was not as religiously intolerant as this video paints it as. 5) Saying Palestinians were “mired for more than two centuries in backwardness and grinding poverty”. ‘Backwardness’ is not quantifiable, and the video never makes it clear what is meant by this word. Here, ‘backwardness’ is reinforcing an image of Palestinians as poor, ignorant savages. This may seem extremely nitpicky, but it’s one of the first indicators of a general picture this video attempts to paint of the Palestinian people. 6) Assuming that because the Ottoman Empire did not recognize Palestinians as a specific people, that Palestinians did not recognize themselves as a specific people. Even before nationalism emerged in the region around the time of WWI, Palestinians had a sense of regional identity. This attempt to erase Palestinian identity is a common tactic of justifying settler colonialism. 7) Saying Jewish immigration had just begun after the Balfour Mandate. As I said earlier, Zionist settler colonists had begun arriving as early as 1888, and around 65,000 to 75,000 were living in Palestine by the end of the Ottoman Empire. 8) Framing Zionist settler colonialists simply as “Jewish migrants”. 9) Saying Palestinians demanded a stop to ‘Jewish immigration’ without any context. As this video ignores that Zionist settling had begun in the late 19th century, it ignores the fact that Palestinians welcomed early Zionists, which said Zionists wrote about themselves. It also ignores discriminatory practices by Zionist leaders, such as forming a segregated trade union or sanctioning Zionist settlers for working with Palestinians. 10) Writing and saying “we will push the Zionists into the sea or they will send us back into the desert” as if it were an actual quote. The assumption that Palestinians collectively wanted to murder all Zionists. 11) The framing of the 1920 Nebi Musa or Jerusalem riot. Saying “Arabs poured into the old city”, framing that as an attack, when in fact Palestinians were in Jerusalem for Nebi Musa, a Muslim festival. Saying the Palestinians “launched a Jihad” against the Jews. It was a riot. This is clear word choice to frame the riots as an all-out war. 12) Mentioning the death toll of six Jews from the riots, but failing to mention the death toll of four Palestinians. Furthermore, it was actually five Jews who died. 13) The assumption, again, that the Balfour Declaration had granted the right to Zionists to begin settling in Palestine, when they had begun of their own accord nearly thirty years before. Saying the Nebi Musa riots were the beginning of 90 years of trying to reverse the Balfour Declaration, as if that declaration alone were the reason for Zionist settler colonialism and Israel’s existence, and as if the reversal of it alone could destroy the Zionist state. 14) Attempting to subtly equate the Holocaust with violence against Zionists in Palestine. 15) Saying “the Arabs of Palestine waged an endless Jihad against their Jewish neighbors”. Firstly, Zionists were not Palestinians’ neighbors, they were in Palestine with the express intent of colonizing it for themselves. Secondly, framing Palestinian riots against Zionists as “an endless Jihad”. This statement not only frames rioting as war, it attempts to make the riots religious in nature when they were most often not. The Haycraft Report, the result of a British commission investigating anti-Zionist violence, concluded that Palestinians were rioting due to British discrimination against them in favor of Zionists, not due to antisemitism. The findings of the Shaw Commission in 1930 were that “The fundamental cause, without which in our opinion disturbances either would not have occurred or would have been little more than a local riot, is the Arab feeling of animosity and hostility towards the Jews consequent upon the disappointment of their political and national aspirations and fear for their economic future.” 16) Failing to ever consider a Palestinian point of view. Why might Palestinians reject partition plans? This video is not interested in this question. 17) Saying “severe limitations were placed on Jewish immigration” during the Holocaust without mention of where those limitations came from. Limitations came from the British, but by leaving this detail out, the video wants to suggest it was Palestinians’ doing. 18) Saying “Arab officials announced that any partition would be met with rivers of blood”. Is this a direct quote, or an expression used, once again, to paint Palestinians as violent people? 19) Discussing the 1947 Partition Plan, saying the land would be divided “nearly equally” while failing to mention that the actual majority of it, 56% would go to the Zionists, who made up only a third of Palestine’s population. 20) Completely omitting any mention of the Zionist state’s Plan Dalet and the Nakba. This is the most egregious omission. The Zionist state's Plan Dalet was developed beginning in 1944 and implemented in 1948. It was a plan to expand the borders of the Zionist state, expel the Palestinian residents of any villages that fell within those borders and resisted, and place non-resisting villages under military control. Ethnic cleansing of Palestinians began before the 1948 war and Nakba. An example of this is the massacre of Deir Yassin. Before the war started, about 300,000 Palestinians had already been expelled. That there is no mention made of these events is conscious disinformation and shows more extreme bias than anything previous. 21) Failing to mention the end of the British mandate and Israel’s declaration of statehood as inciting factors for the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. 22) Citing the controversial Azzam quote. Azzam actually said the quote in a 1947 interview in Egyptian newspaper Akhbar-el-Yom, in slightly different words, “Personally I hope the Jews do not force us into this war because it will be a war of elimination and it will be a dangerous massacre which history will record similarly to the Mongol massacre or the wars of the Crusades.” 23) Stating that Israel’s land expanded without saying how: by the murder of 15,000 Palestinians, the expulsion of over 700,000 more, which constituted about 80% of Palestinians; by the destruction of emptied villages, and the passing of the Absentee’s Property Law, which allowed any absentee person’s property (houses, land, money, etc.) to become property of the state of Israel. 24) Failing to mention that Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinian villages continued into the 1950s.
@appaatemomo-freePalestine
@appaatemomo-freePalestine 4 месяца назад
Part Two: 25) Failing to state that Israel never allowed displaced Palestinians back to their homes, shooting at refugees who tried to cross the border. 26) Pointed declaration that Egypt and Jordan denied Palestinians civil rights while ignoring the Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestine, theft of Palestinian land, and denial of right to return. 27) “It never occurred to the rulers of Jordan or Egypt to create a state for the homeless Palestinians” extreme bias in this statement, completely ignoring, again, Israel’s ethnic cleansing of said Palestinians and denial of their right to return. Also ignores the existence of the All-Palestine Protectorate, no matter how ineffectual it was. 28) Claiming that Arafat never protested occupation of Palestine by Egypt or Jordan. Arafat led the PLO against Jordan in the Jordanian Civil War of 1970. Referring to Jordan and Egypt’s annexation and occupation, respectively, as “occupation of their land by foreign rulers”, having never referred to the Zionist state in the same way. 29) Stating that Israel offered Palestinians more generous deals that Egypt or Jordan, while again ignoring the fact that all the rest of Palestine’s land was being controlled by Israel, not Egypt or Jordan. 30) Skipping over an incredible amount of history. The Suez Crisis; the Fedayeen movement; Israel’s attack on the village of As-Samu’ in the West Bank. Importantly, the 1967 war and the Naksa, when Isael seized the remaining Palestinian territory as well as some territory from Syria and Egypt and ethnically cleansed another 300,000 Palestinians as well as 100,000 Syrians from the Golan Heights. More history skipped over: the Allon colonization plan, the 1973 war between Israel and Egypt and the Camp David accords, Israeli oppression leading to the First Intifada, and the Oslo Accords. 31) Claiming that Yasser Arafat started the Second Intifada because of the 2000 Camp David Summit. The summit took place in July. The Second Intifada began at the end of September, and was an uprising begun by the Palestinian people, not Arafat. The summit was a factor, but the inciting incident was Ariel Sharon’s visit to Al-Asqa mosque, accompanied by hundreds of armed soldiers. Sharon had been defense minister during the Sabra and Shatila massacre and his visit with the troops was seen, for Palestinians, as a statement of Israel’s total control over their holy site. 32) Failing to state that the Second Intifada started as largely peaceful protests, boycotts, and acts of civil disobedience. 33) Failing to discuss Israel’s brutal crackdown on the protests, and this brutal response being an inciting factor to more violent acts of protest by Palestinians. 34) Failure to mention that Sharon’s rise to Prime Minister also escalated violence. Failure to mention at all that Sharon reoccupied all of Palestine that was under the Palestinian Authority. Failure to mention the construction of Israel’s segregation wall, and that these events cut Gaza and the West Bank off from each other. 35) Focus only on Palestinian attacks against Israelis, not Israeli attacks against Palestinians. Omission of the death toll: about 5,000 Palestinians and 1,000 Israelis. 36) Claiming that Israel pulled out of Gaza. Israel pulled troops out of Gaza, but maintained their occupation of Gaza that continues to this day. The UN, the International Red Cross, and Amnesty International all recognize this. 37) Framing of the supposed withdrawal from Gaza as a benevolent act. Dov Weisglas, top aide to Sharon, has explained, “The significance of the disengagement plan is the freezing of the peace process, and when you freeze that process, you prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, and you prevent a discussion on the refugees, the borders and Jerusalem. Effectively, this whole package called the Palestinian state, with all that it entails, has been removed indefinitely from our agenda. And all this with authority and permission”. 38) Claiming Gazans burned down the greenhouses Israel left. Special Envoy for Gaza Disengagement James Wolfensohn wrote, “Some damage was done to the greenhouses,” as a result of looting, “but they came through mostly intact”. Looting was due to poor Gazans taking much-needed resources from the greenhouses. They were never burned down. The failure of the greenhouse project was due to Israeli restrictions on what Gazans were allowed to export. 39) Again, failure to consider Palestinian motivations in rejected two-state offers. What amounts to clear disinterest in considering a Palestinian point of view, to the point of omitting the most major crimes Israel has committed against the Palestinian people, and omitting the conditions that Gaza and the West Bank had been under from 2005 up until the year this video was made.

Palestine is a name given by the Roman emperor Adrianus during the Roman occupation, to delegitemize the Israelites/Jews, and exiled them. The name comes from the Philistines - the sworn enemies of the Israelites during the Biblical era. They were actually Greeks, and have long disappeared since. In Hebrew its pronounced: "Plishtim", which means: invaders. Throughout history, there have been 3 Jewish States in that land, but NEVER a Palestinian State. The Arabs living there today are originally work labor that the Turks brought with them from Arabia during the Ottoman rule. By that time the land was a desert, with no habitats. Mark Twain wrote this in his 1869 novel Innocents Abroad. Everywhere you dig in Israel, you find ancient Hebrew/Jewish artifacts, but no Arab/Muslim. The cities Jericho, Hebron, Shkhem have no Arab names. Shkhem was renamed Neopolis by the Romans, but the Arabs can't pronounce the letters "P" and "E", so they call it "Nablus". Not even Palestine, which they pronounce: "Falesteen

@Jihad Express okay, so you are jihadi AND a nazi. No surprise here.
@robertleffel3156
@robertleffel3156 2 года назад
@Jihad Express you have a strange definition of victory, and not very consistent as it applied to either side. A victory in war by one side is achieving its strategic military objectives. For example, in WWII the allies had a strategic objectives of eradicating the nazi regime and destroying its military capabilities. Erasing Germany and German people from the map was never an objective. In 1948, the Arab states and local Arabs had the objectives of eradicating Israel, getting rid of the Jews and taking all of the land of Palestine to divide between themselves (no independent Palestine was planned). They lost of every count, other than capturing and retaining West Bank, half of Jerusalem and Gaza that Israel was either not interested in (Gaza especially) or had no means to capture and defend. Israel on the other hand had the objective avoiding being overrun and annihilated, and capturing some lands outside of the 1947 partition lines (particularly Jerusalem)m with a sizable Jewish community. Israel did NOT have an objective of capturing and destroying Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt, keeping their lands, eradicating their regimes and armies . Unlike the Arabs, Israel achieved its objectives, I'd say. So it's a win for Israel. 1967 was a resounding win for Israel. Like I said in earlier post, the Arabs states and the PLO did not achieve a single war objective. The same for 1973 war. Israel did not have an objective of the annihilation of Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The objective was to withstand the Arab aggression and to retain all or as much "buffer" territory captured in 1967 as possible. Although Egypt managed to cause IDF some hard time at Bar Lev, and to gain a foothold on the portion of eastern flank of Suez Canal (while losing a portion of the western flank), the overall outcome was a loss for the Arab side. If you think the Arabs won in 1973, you must believe Narnia is real. 1982 Lebanese war was a mixed bag, but I doubt it can be classified as a definite loss for Israel. The Israeli objective was to push PLO out of Egypt and degrade its capabilities: achieved mostly, and could have been more if the US didn't intervene to prevent the complete destruction of PLO in Lebanon and escort Arafat to Tunisia, but at least the PLO was out of Lebanon. It also had an objective to push jihadi Hizbullah from its northern borders and degrade its capabilities. This was also mostly achieved. Being an asymmetric warfare with a terrorist organization hiding among civilian population, nobody in Israel's establishment had illusion that it was extremely difficult to outright impossible to eradicate jihadi ideology, just to deal them a mighty blow and make them think twice about attacking Israel again. Israel COULD have destroyed both the PLO and Huzbullah, but tat would necessitate turning Lebanon into a parking lot (like Germany or Japan in 1945) with massive civilian casualties, and this was something Israel was not prepared to do. The problem that Israel had that it stayed for too long and got bogged down in southern Lebanon, inviting guerrilla attacks. That was a mistake, but its subsequent unilateral withdrawal hardly constitutes a defeat. Certainly far less than the US/coalition withdrawal from Afghanistan which brought the country back to square one more or less. Lebanon now is certainly not Lebanon in 1982 before Israeli invasion. But I think Israel should have pounded Lebanon (and especially Hizbullah, PLO and their allies and their infrastructure and personnel) more, resisted Reagan's attempt to save Arafat, and got out quickly leaving Lebanon smoking in ruins. Which brings us to the current situation with Hamas and islamic Jihad in Gaza and Hizbullah (in Lebanon). IF Israel sets an objective of destroying these organizations (at least militarily and taking out their leadership completely), Israel can do that, with a relative ease. Militarily you cannot even compare the two. Ideologies would live on of course (just jihadi ideology lives on), but there would be few people to practice it, and even few to pose any serious military threat. But that would require turning Gaza ad south Lebanon into a parking lot with massive civilian Arab casualties, and possibly reoccupying Gaza and West Bank, and this is something Israel is not prepared to do, given that a threat from Hamas/islamic Jihad, and Hibullah is a relatively minor nuisance. Yes, it's unpleasant to run to the air raid shelter, and eve more unpleasant to have 1 dead Israeli for every 500 dead palestinians, but at this stage it's a conflict management. not a conflict resolution and Israel has a lot of experience. In the meantime, Israel economy is booming, all Israelis including Israeli Arabs are getting wealthier, more arab countries are ditching the palestinian cause and anti-israel agenda, and the Palestinians especially in Gaza are sinking deeper into abyss of their own creation and finally starting to see who their real enemy is. Hint: not Israel. Btw, have you noticed that West Bank Palestinians including Mahmoud Abbas' PA is staying largely out of Hamas "fight" with Israel?

Nope. This video glosses ever very important points.
@Nigel.123
@Nigel.123 Месяц назад
@@handsanitiser9832 There was no "Flour Massacre". IDF was targeting hamas militants, not civilians. Some civilians got caught in the crossfire. It's sad, but it happens in war. No doubt hamas leaders would call everyone who died "martyrs" (hint: a martyr is someone who dies for religious beliefs.) In 1948, Israel was attacked by 5 arab nations. "The British Foreign Ministry and the CIA believed that the Arab states would finally win in case of war... Martin Van Creveld says that in terms of manpower, the sides were fairly evenly matched. In May, Egyptian generals told their government that the invasion would be "a parade without any risks" and Tel Aviv would be taken "in two weeks." Egypt, Iraq, and Syria all possessed air forces, Egypt and Syria had tanks, and all had some modern artillery. Initially, the Haganah had no heavy machine guns, artillery, armoured vehicles, anti-tank or anti-aircraft weapons, nor military aircraft or tanks. The four Arab armies that invaded on 15 May were far stronger than the Haganah formations they initially encountered." From Wikipedia To deny that Israel was attacked by 5 arab nations in 1948 is total lunacy and historical revisionism. The Jews won, they took their historical land back and formed the modern country of Israel, and there is absolutely nothing Israel's enemies can do about it except lie constantly and blather the same hamas talking points.

How can you write this when Ben Gurion ordered villages to be bulldozed, the so-called command by Arab armies to leave has been proven to be false, and there are videos you can easily look up of Irgun soldiers bragging abt the massacres! This was in 1948! What about now?! The very nature of the massacres shows a hatred and supremacy permeating the society, and seen in the Gaza now, wherein they record themselves engaging in torture, urnating on corpses, laughing as they destroy, writing threatening grafitti, and, of course, blocking access to food while they enjoy desserts from settlers. You can look all of these up b/c they post it themselves. News agencies have also covered it. Does someone w/ this supremist mentality view the other party as worthy of land or life?! Again, your comment makes no sense if you consider context: it was all talk from the beginning. Heck, even Netenyahu said he'll fund groups to divert attention away from the topic. They never wanted a state-or people there in the first place .Here's a video of Irgun soldiers bragging abt the massacres, laughing and enjoying themselves (and no, it's not an isolated incident): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XjTxDYtNhno.html

People of the Netherlands never called themselves "Netherlander"/ Dutch. Their identity was always Protestant, Catholic, etc. That does not mean civilians are not bound to the village, ground, identity, community etc. The Netherlands was in history part of the Holy Roman Empire. I agree with you that it is weird and, contextually important given the statements of PLO leadership on the invention of the term (justification for extermination), the power of presenting as indigenous in modern thinking, etc. BUT I genuinely don't believe it changes the reality of for the existing people of Gaza and West Bank (most of whom have been born there and, for them, the term is real and having an ethno-nationalist identity is a powerful motivator). And I don't think denying that sense of identity builds a foundation for peace.

Identity or not. People lived in their homes. And these homes had been continuously inhabited for centuries. That said, was this a just recipe for peace & stability in the region? For the crime of Party A, the Germans, Party B, the non-native Jews were given the majority of the land of Party C, the Palestinians, by Party D, the UN. Needless to say Party C was not happy with such an unnatural, unlawful and abnormal decision by a body proclaiming itself to be for peace, progress and humanity. Needless to say Party A was content for Party B to go anywhere else. Needless to say Party B had no shame in becoming the only artificially inseminated nation state birthed by force of rape upon Party C. And Party D today continues to its track record of never bringing the world closer to peace, humanity and justice anywhere on earth. Meanwhile, those who fund most of the bills of Party D, continue to profit off of the global situations of conflict that have ensued since WW II. Debunk that.

The October 7 attacks have forced me to properly look into the history of modern day Israel and Palestine. And now I believe ignorance is the worst thing to have right now - especially on the Israel/Palestine issue. Its been a long history of issues. The more I learn, the more pessimistic I am of there ever being a two-state solution. The history shows the very things that will forever complicate the situation. From the religious ideology underpinning decisions to the politics in the middle east. And when you consider the relations between ancient Israel and the Phillistines (Palestinians)...longstanding peace is never going to happen. I honestly believe this is a situation that's beyond the capabilities of man. God alone can cause change.
@marklumley619
@marklumley619 5 месяцев назад
The Palestinians are not the descendants of the Phillistines but a conglomerate of people from Iraq, Saudi Arabia and surrounding areas. The Phillistines were almost entirely wiped out as a people and the remaining were absorbed into surrounding tribes. Some research will show this. You are correct in stating that there is no possibility of a two state solution because of religion. It isn’t just Palestinians who hate Jews but all Muslims. We saw this during the 1991 Gulf War when Saddam Husain invaded Kuwait but when pressured by the coalition lead by the US, he launched middles at Israel even though they were not part of the fight. His thoughts were to get Israel into the fight so that the other Muslim nations would join him because of their hatred for the Jews.
