Dec 3rd: Welcome the first sunday in advent. Mini skeins, knitting projects and Anna Ancher hunting. 

Such a lovely cozy way to start the day! We don’t have a flake of snow here so it’s nice to see the beautiful winter scene up there!

I like the idea of a blanket with the solid crocheted grannies… It’s a great idea on being able to see and identify the beautiful colorways that you dyed.

I think solid squares would be beautiful in uour Advent. In fact i have a Monets Advent Calendar and the yarn dyer has sent a pattern for this design. You have been busy busy. Plus all that snow. Lovely 💕

I think some sort of crochet blanket is a great idea. You’re already doing a knitted blanket so mix it up! The yarn will be the star of the show as it should be. Your colors are so beautiful! 🎄

Camilla, have you seen the triangulum blanket pattern? It is a knitted blanket , pattern from ellie jones and she has used her own handdyed yarn! Also there is a crochetpattern from Australia that you may have overlooked, the Log Cabin Square by Julie Harrison.....

Your individual minis tell such a wonderful story and are referenced to a particular painting - I think you should keep the focus on them by making something like the battenburg blanket (larger squares) separated by a solid color. Very much like a quilt. Each square should be appreciated apart from the others. Such beautiful colors so far!

Ahhh Camilla!! Every year I watch you open your own advent I realize I need to just buy yours next year. You take such care into what goes in it and the inspiration behind it 😍😍 I’ll have to remember that next year when they go on sale. ❤❤❤

Your advent is so so beautiful this year Camilla! I vote for the crochet blanket…I think your idea of keeping the colours in solid separate blocks is the best way to show them off and I do think variegated yarns look best in crochet. I also have a gorgeous advent that I’m still deciding how to use…maybe I will follow your idea. Also will mention that knitty natty is doing a hexagon shaped crochet blanket which looks like an interesting idea too…a bit of a change from the usual squares.

I vote for crocheting a blanket. I chose that one because that’s what I would like to do myself.

I like the idea of using your minis in a square instead of a striped kind of pattern... I was coming to the same conclusion. I was thinking of something like Kay Jones; Jelly Roll Blanket. I previously made a log cabin knitted blanket and love it, so I am interested in other 'quilt' squares that are knitted. I personally do not like granny squares, but a different crochet pattern would be nice. Someone here mentioned the Battenburg Blanket which is also pretty, especially with added neutral squares. So many choices! I am so envious of your snow Camilla! We are having rain here (Washington state in the US) for many many days. Your house looks so beautiful with the Christmas decorations.

I would love to knit a blanket with the advent. The colors are stunnig and I like you would like to see them in a section rather than striped. Maybe the anthology with a cream color in-between the advent colors.

I vote for making one big square of each skein, so there are fewer ends to deal with. 😀

I maybe too late with my advice. the Summer Fade Hexie blanket with the modifications from knittynatty. I think that would be such a nice way to show each color in all it's glory. Love the Vlogmas videos!

You should do a battenberg blanket. It is granny squares but they are a closed on. Very pretty!

The snow! Do you typically get this much snow? I may have to add Denmark to my wish list of snowy places to move! How fab that you're chatting with some of my favorite fellow knitters! I think a crochet blanket will be lovely!

If you want one big square per color I’d suggest the Radvent by Ambah.

I really would like to purchase your Advent Calendar next year. When do you start your sales? An absolutely beautiful match from picture to your imagination and finally your gorgeous yarn. So glad i found you! I love Denmark My son has visited many times and he took me when i retired after teaching teenagers for 40+ years. Ive been twice and we have a trip planned next year (we hope). Love your vlogmases and i cant wait to binge watch your podcasts.

There are so many beautiful Danish stitch patterns out there, could you knit a blanket square a day in a different pattern and the sew them together?

Why don’t you do the Battenburg Blanket? Knitty Knatty has been working on it with 3” rather than the 2” squares and I think she is getting 6 squares per mini?
