"You should never use only melee to pass waves. This game was designed to be played by 5 people after all" that one random guy wearing a bucket on his head and atomic top:
I swear to god, the scavs jumping over parried scavs is the most annoying thing ever. Thank you for making the guide, definitely gonna help me get out of situations like that.
I Always liked berserkers concept and wanted to play it a lot. Watched a bunch of parry guides and THEORETICALLY got decent at parrying. But then i realized that parrying groups of enemies is absolutely different than one enemy. Thank god this guide exists. Now just need 40 hours of solo practice...
*Perk has left the chat* Short tip:Kiting easiest to do with vagabond sword as it has (atleast I think) the longest melee range Also spin around the enemy and spam f
Remember folks: if you play holdout mode, craft a Maria if possible, The Emperor(?) In the medieval boss wave can one shot, he deals somewhat 300+ dmg. The fracture inflicted by the Maria is level 4, it can reduce the boss dmg down to like...80% which is pretty nice
If you want to frontline in holdout, get a lazarus, use dependable, fearless, methodfical, and get a decimator. The deci is the most important part because people will steal your kills before meleeing them
nice guide, but I think you missed a few things like how you can shove a scav after being grappled in short window of time, when your ping is above 200, scavs have extended melee reach, Having even higher ping or when Roblox servers start acting up Scavs might have their animation not match up with the server, and running around the red crate thingy can help in lining up multi parries (although some scavs might go the other way if they stray to far from the group)
I can't really teach ping since it's not supposed to be played like this. With high ping you can also kite scavs with 150% range weapons, some people use it but in my opinion that is cringe.
@@iiddfay Yeah that’s true but it’s helpful to know though as no one really talks about it, not everyone has the best Wi-Fi connection but your parry guide is still really good, regardless of ping (The Ping stuff is like a small tip you only pick up after playing DW for a decent amount of time and knowing them can mean the difference between getting smacked by a extended hit or parrying the attack)
@@iiddfay usually moving far away from the router or have other devices/google tabs use up lots of bandwidth does the trick (recording dw on a Saturday at peak hours also works too)
More tips: - YOU CAN'T PARRY OR SHOVE A SICKLER (I still see people doing that) - You can parry but CAN'T SHOVE a skinner (still seeing people shove skinners because they get jumpscared and panic), either run away or parry
my toxic trait is thinking i as a beginner could do this easily (i cannot). but this is an amazing tutorial and really helpful. i found i was struggling with parries so much i just picked a ranged class LOL but this will definitely help me to learn it a ton, thank you
Love how when I kept playing this game before, I was literally like a parry god, but when I stopped playing for like almost 5 months and returned, I deadass sucked again
to the guys who are wondering: "how do you parry with "none" or the tanto" welp he is using a trait called "honerd" whitch allowes you to parry with every melle weapon encluding your hands. (tanto is a reskin of that. if you wanna get tanto search for a tutorial)
If you wanna kill her with billhook to spam right click, pay attention to when she longshots. If you stun her she has a good chance of parrying afterwards, just do it with whatever melee now that you know how she works. Glad i could help!
One thing that helps against parry scavs is actually having a higher ping due to the scav only reacting with the parry after your attack registers the damage This does only work well if you are killing the parry scav in that attack
I was training my parry and melee skills on raiders and scavs i recommend doing that you will learn how to parry and fight many other enemies like Tier1 enemies:pipe crowbar and alot other easy scavs Tier2 enemies:cleaver metal bat and fire axe raider etccc Tier3 enemies:military axe raider sledger other strong Tier4 enemies:cultists (melee ones) skinner and etccc 15:20 legend ak scav saved some time for our guy to explain everything RIP ak scav
mf i've been playing dw for like 4 years now and yet i'm struggling doing that on the first wave 😭😭 edit: no, i am absolutely shit at this!!! i fucking suck!!!!
For some reason, i don't use firearms. And i do know that firearms are essentialin the later waves, i just haven't practiced using them yet. Why? Bc im a no balls mf that doesnt like dws gun system
Users of scavengers, raiders, death squads, freedom fighters, reikgons, crusaders and alies Lead pipe scavenger Crowbar scavenger Knife scavenger Ice axe scavenger Cleaver scavenger Shove scavenger Special knife/karabit scavenger Baton scavenger (WE CALL IT DIFFICULTY TWEAT) Kira scavenger (bruh I forgot the name) Sledgehammer scavenger and user of berserker Lameo blade user of rhyer and then why did he hold like that man fix this Fire axe raider (shielder) Military axe raider and fighter The decimator/merci-fall user of Sledge queen and rayzen Military Machete eru scouts and death squads Maria/abbie user of berserker maybe Billhook/snake eyes user of Executioner Fiercer axe/malice user of Jericho Theourgia hand user of skinner and apostle Pike crusader Short sword crusader Great sword (zweihander) crusader Maul (warhammer) user of Commander Executioner sword/deo volente user of zealot "void" and true user of Emperor Unused melee weapons from umg and sof: Hidden knife user of Reikon Hidden Kitchen knife user of Hanger a tier 4 knife from admin but bad terrible damage Sickler claws user of sickler wait a minute sickler become agent now
Another thing when fighting grouped enemies without strong melees (tier 3, 4, or workbench crafted) is that most weapons inflict debuffs. Blades and spears apply bleed (damage over time), axes and blunt weapons inflict fracture and cripple (slower melee attack speed, lower melee damage, increased bullet spread with gun scavs) (lower movement speed). When not having enough window for a heavy blow or a combo, spreading the debuffs on multiple scavs could either deal extra chip damage or weaken them for less punishment for mistakes.
See, I would love to use this, but I use berserker and I tank damage like I'm a wall, so I would like you do do a class guide so I can see how to master berserker without needing a good weapon
as a former riskrunner main now an apostle main i do not need to parry im just gonna use my abilities to stun them for quite abit and daves can kill scavs
This guide is much appreciated. The new player experience is INCREDIBLY brutal (as it should be) and evem after pledging once Im having issues with CQC. Thanks for teaching me, now off to put these in practice!
Hmmmm depends on builds and perks but I think I overall like the Firerer axe more. It's the most underrated thing in the entire game, only costs you 50 scrap, kills almost anything even with reduced melee damage which allows for much easier wins with supports and backlines. Yeah I'd go with it.
if you're REALLY WANA MASTERD PARRY AND SHOVE just test it while fighting SQ Is it worth it? The answer is no Is it Fun? Then answer is YES, you can humiliate SQ AI with that and THAT 1 GUY POSTED killing SQ with Tier 1 wepons
for a backliner that very rarely parries and wants to get every mastery, this really helped me , i dont die that often anymore and can get to wave 9. very cool.
Me watching people fear SQ with 130 Medium ammo, Tac armor, modded akm, Risk runner, with Janiel, S44, I4S, and full rations when you are so calm against her with a fucking machete and tactical armor
If you're referring to sledge queen, after her longshot if you're not using aggressive behaviour you cant parry the following heavy/grapple attack so you just need to get out of range. For the shortshell, it's just habits really.
