Follow us on this selffilmed hunt in December for pheasants. Pheasants see everything like turkeys, so a blind is a perfect solution for hunting pheasants. And they are good eating to. Action starts at: 02:25 but your welcome to watch it all.
Bow is Bear Grizzly Vintage 50@28 and the arrow is Goldtip Ultra light pro 500, with a 100 grain brass insert and a Zwickey Delta. Arrow weight is about 500 grain

Sir Robert! The thing is that here in Denmark where I’m at, there is no such thing as public land to hunt, and with the small private areas one is allowed to hunt here, it’s more about what area you have, wether you can feed your self or not. But I would call my self a true hunter, though. Thanks for watching

The first game I ever took with a how was a Pheasant. I was fifteen years old I only got one so we made it along with chickens. Great memories. The best tasting bird I ever shot are wild turkey. Easy to clean and prepare. Those I took with a shotgun I was very fortunate I got two in the same group. They are smart and fast the were close together and was able to get two good shots 15 yards. Then I got nothing for along time since the first.

Your videos has inspired my to pick up archery again. Alone with this I want to get a recurve bow similar to yours. I`ve always been into longbows, arrow fletching etc. but I think recurves might be more suited for stealth hunting. Your videos are plain and simpel without fancy smart talk and rockmusic and depicture more what bowhunting is all about. ..Oh... I recently purchased a book from 1878 " Witchery of archery" owned by the late British actor Robert Hardy. ..Keep up.

Very good instinctive shooting despite seemingly short distance. Makes me wonder if i would hit anything this way because i'm used to "calculate distance and direction (somehow in my head)" from wide field of view first, than before taking shot focus on target and a few "anchor" points very close to it. Maybe it isn't hard and just takes some additional training to get sure about placing shots well.
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 3 года назад
Thats why I shoot like I do. I find it effective at all hunting distances, meaning mostly with in 15 yards. I dont have time for to much measuring. Of course I could shoot a higher score on a 3D range if I was string walking or something, but I rest my case to a more all round style. Thanks for watching

No you actually dont loose much meat, with sharp heads. It’s more a clean cut. Because of our energy requirement we need sharp head’s with tradbows on small game like pheasant’s. @peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 года назад
HAROON SHAFQUIT yes sir! I’ll be happy to. The further we are pulling a bow out, the heavy’r it gets. So at 28 inches of drawlenght, this bow is 50 pounds. And because I’m only pulling 27 inches, I only holding about 47 pounds on my fingers. The industrial standard for bows is measured at 28 inches. So if a bow is marked with 45 pounds, its at 28 inches of drawlenght. Since you are a beginner I’ll go with a 40 pounds at 28 inches, so you can learn to shoot the right way from the beginning. But if you have a short drawlenght, like 26 - 27 inches, I’ll go for a 45 pounds at 28 inches. Here is a few brand worth looking at as beginner bows: “from the cheap end” Samick Sage - several Bodnik Models, forexamble the Mohawk. And the Bear models, such as the Grizzly

The Grizzly is faster than the Super mag?
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 года назад
Fabien l'archer I actually Think it’s the same approx. The Super Mag have a higher braceheight, which slows it, but Mine shoot’s a fastflight string. The Grizzly shoots a Dacron string, but have lower braceheight. Speed is about the same. Either of them are speed bows, though

In Denmark we are hunting hens side by side with the roosters. The season starts and end at the same time. So it´s probably not lesser wise than shooting a doe

Hahaha are you kidding me??? These are wild birds and lives in great Numbers here! One of the most common bird to hunt here. We are harvesting between 700 and 800.000 pheasants pr year in this country, and They are still all over the place. How about knowing about stuff, before talking?? There are other worlds out there, than the one your looking at, mister!

@asifansari4963 4 года назад
@@peterjuulsgaard Even if it is a wild bird and surmounts to great in number, it does not mean it's oppressive spot hunting. Each and every animal was once great in number but owing to our cruel activities a few have been reduced to a great extent causing declaration by WWF as endangered. In India we respect these birds and it's environment.
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 года назад
ASIF ANSARI and I respect that you respect these birds! I respect them my self. But to me it is a wild living chicken which I’m eating, instead of the one from the store. So what’s the problem in that?? Actually these birds don’t even belong here. We know they came from asia back in the 1500 year or so! So that means that I will NEVER endanger these birds by hunting them! Right?? Atleast as long as I dont hunt your birds! So In my world I’m actually helping these birds in our country. They have a hunting season from october the 1st and until january 31 st. That’s actually only 4 months. The other 8 months of the year They are not allowed to hunt! So They are reproducing more than we can hunt! So What do you have to say about that? Are we really that bad as you folks out there think? I believe you guys are eating meat too? And you don’t have any problems eat a industrial chicken! Honestly I Think you guy’s need to wake up instead of basing you opinion’s on feelings! Fact’s my freind! Try to look at facts!
