What a lovely video. It reinforces everything I think and love about Spain. I moved to the south coast (just outside Estepona) about 18 months ago. As far as I am concerned, it is paradise. As an avid cyclist and motorcyclist, things couldn't get better.

You should have been in Spain for the 2020 lockdowns. House arrest, no exercise, 1M fines of 400 euro a piece issued (Guardia Civil came to your house with card readers), the Guardia Civil also searched your shopping to make sure you "bought enough", drones over the house to check you remained inside, armoured personnel carriers, it was a sh*t show which saw a lot of expats move to Portugal - and we're all much, much happier. Good luck in Spain, you'll need it.

Yes the lockdown was way excessive instigated by the "oh he's so handsome" Mr Sanchez.. Lockdown was brutal here. The Uk thinks they had it hard.. They had it mild compared to what we had. Sadly mainland and Portugal is too hot in summer and too cold in winter so I'm staying here in the Canaries.

Funnily enough, we were in Spain during lockdown for a project. We were being stopped by road blocks on motorways, everywhere was deserted and it was very very unpleasant. I do remember even in Tenerife two years ago, many locals in the north would still be wearing masks even when they didn’t have to.

This has been the wettest winter on record in UK. Its why I always use a sunlamp that mimicks the Sun. Then I close my eyes to picture im in Sunny beach it really really works.

Hi Freddie and Monica …just a quick suggestion, if you’ve got time to visit the excellent Picasso museum , in the old part of town , it was one of my favourite places to learn more about his work and life , in such an amazing old building too ! Great to see you enjoying the relaxing lifestyle in Barcelona. If you fancy a day trip, why not take the Ave high speed train from Barcelona Sants to Girona and Figueres? Girona is a charming Roman city with a gorgeous cathedral and is the cycling capital of Europe, some say the world. Figueres has the Dali museum - a unique experience!

Awesome guy's now that's where you need a permeant apartment it would be fab and I would if I could for sure so much better than here in the UK for many reasons .Last visit there I really wanted to try one of the scooters "stand on type " for the fun of it but didn't unfortunately maybe next time .😉👌👍

It's a great city to just walk around and find amazing lanes and places. Was there in September and it was great as always. If you get a chance find Bubó Barcelona, little patisserie hidden in a back street, amazing cakes!

Just back from a long weekend in Malaga (a much underrated city). Similar thoughts to you - wall to wall bright sunshine makes such a difference to mood and the desire to just be outside. Bit warmer there - about 21 degrees - but the locals were still wearing Canada Goose winter coats 😂

Its difficult to beat southern Spain and the Canary Islands this time of the year. The Spanish lifestyle, the climate and the low cost of living. We just returned from riding in Gran Canaria. Fantastic. Only downside is mid -summer the heat can be overwhelming. Beautifully made video as usual. Will you want to return to miserable, wet, cold and overpriced England?

The SEAT was called the 600 actually. My great grandfather used to have one. Lovely little machines. I happen to live in a small town 60 miles north from there, Girona. Just say something if you drop by. Good connection with high speed trains

I lived in Gibraltar back in the mid early 80s . I was there when they re opend the boader with Spain . We spent many an evening in Spain eating and drinking the local produce . What a life . When i look back at those days i can only say that it was a great way to live . I loved Spain then and plan to visit Gib again . My first son was born there . cant wait to get back there .

Just had a thought about your Bonneville running problems. I know that Triumph "expert" says it knackerd, it might be worth getting an ECU from Triumph Power and fitting it. My Bonneville America had ECU failiure and I fitted one of those ECUs and it has not only fixed the problem, but improved the all round performance sinificantly from the original. Cost was £250 and very easy to fit. It's a simple tank off job, 2 bolts and a plug in connector, job done! 40k is nothing for a Triumph engine, very surprised to hear it is worn out. I simply doesn't seem right.

Another cracking video! That was a SEAT 600 (Seiscientos) originally made by FIAT in Italy, and then under license by SEAT in Barcelona. 800.000 were built giving working class Spaniards the chance to buy their first car. The cost in the sixties was 65.000 pesetas, about €390. Eight month's salary.

For a city which is said to be one of the most beautiful I was surprised by the number of crumbling buildings and the amount of graffiti on walls and shop fronts etc. Maybe some people think this adds to the attraction. I went for a weekend break there early last year, March 2022. I'm over six foot and not of small build and a pick pocket had a go at me. It really spoiled my experience of the city. Weren't you 'relieved' of a laptop last time you were in that area Freddie?

The little Seat is a 600. If you look closely you will see it is slightly longer than the Fiat 500. Seat used to make the same models as Fiat, but I believe they never did the 500. Here in the Costa Del Sol there are quite a few well cared for Seat 600s. Nice little cars, but in my eyes, not quite so pretty as the 500.

I have many fond memories of visiting Barcelona frequently, and at all times of the year. A freind relocated there for work and rented a sucession of random apartments around the city. i always harboured the idea of living there myself. As a keen cyclist and biker, the attraction of a city that accomodates both, apparently quite happily, along with a decent, all year round climate. Whats not to like?

@@horspiste Funny you should mention that. That was then, this is now. Generations of Brits have been cut off from the opportunity to live and work in the EC thanks to Brexit, myself included. I still have a chum living in Spain but he claimed the Spanish equivalent of 'Settled status', there before that avenue was also closed off. He can't live or work in any other of the 27 EU nations, just Spain, because he's chosen to retain his British passport.
