Did you happen to do the vibration test Brian did? I have mild arthritis and several hours of correcting with my old 8mm HF kills my hands. I'm looking at upgrading to a 15mm and trying to decide what is smoothest to the hands (least vibration) but still strong and not stalling out on any little thing. I'm mostly looking at a original Boss G15 (can get used for $200ish), a Maxshine Pro, this Shinemate ex620, and also curious about the SPTA 15mm cordless (get tired of fighting cords). They are all in the $200ish range except the Shinemate which is a bit outside of my budget. Anyway, just curious of your findings between the Maxshine Pro and Griots Boss....and any others you've compared. Thanks!

But i was provided with 6/15 counterweight and a 5 inch "heavyweight" backing plate, which is different from usual one. I feel my machine to be really vibrating even in 4- 4 n a half. But in your case, the counterweight is 5/15 and 5 inch backing plate is also normal. So will it be a better option if I go for the same option as yours or won't it make much of a difference ? Please do help.

Just my .02 since you didn’t get a response, but the 5/15, 6/15 and 6/21 are all Shinemate options but it should have come with their standard backing plate. The heavyweight backing plate is an option to turn the 6 inch machine to a 5 inch machine. In your case, sounds like the order got messed up.

Professor, another knock it out of the park product review. My two top criterion for any quality DA are vibration and decibel levels. After 3,000 hours in B-52s, noise is a real issue to me. LOL. Seriously, it sounds like my decision to buy a Rupes this month, due to their low vibration and decibel levels has just hit a wall. @@nicksdragon6929 No problem, you are welcomed! Sorry for my previous message, I was writing it on crappy phone :) One thing I forgot to mention, Rupes LHR15 Mk I machine is almost 10 years old - first of it's long-throw kind. Reviewed Shine-mate polisher EX620 5/15 is it's latest generation. I think Brian is honest man and giving us his best opinion, however, if you are beginner or intermediate detailer and you have the budget, go for Rupes DA system and stick to it! This is my best advise. Their new polishing liquids are goooood! I bet you did your research about their DA-system :) BTW, over 7 years of hobby and semi-profi detailing I threw so much money on buying and trying different cheap compounds / cheap pads / cheap machines (thinking it will be sufficient) and I currently ended at Rupes anyway... Yes, you can say I'm Rupes "fan boy", but I'm slowly transferring my stuff to their DA-system just because it works. Also Shine-mate is so overpriced here... For example Shine-mate foam pads are more expensive than Rupes foam ones!! I wish you happy and healthy new year, greetings from Czech Republic :)
@nicksdragon6929
@nicksdragon6929 3 года назад
@@jandusek882 great answer. One of the reasons I like Rupes is that when your machine breaks down after the warranty, you just send it in and they literally rebuild it just like Brian was showing us, all for $85. I didn't know Brian's machine was old technology, that is a very good point.
