Hello Karen! How exciting for a new friend!! I just love to see this community grow! Louis unfortunately has a throat infection possibly throat cancer I'm not sure yet. Poor kid I'm really worried and my heart hurts. I love him so much. Thank you for your prayers! My mom. loved making woopie pies and church events! When my mom passed away I was going through stuff in her basement and I found her moms cook book from 1914. There was a recipe for woopie pies in it. Also so exciting news! I lost 24 pounds in the last 2 months! I feel so good! I never really learned how to declutter as a kid because we never had much anyway. In 1968 when my mom met my dad he shared a butter cookie recipe with her that I still have! When he took his life in 1994 one of the only things my mom saved. I understand how hard it can be to let go of things with special peoples handwriting on it. When you said Pennsylvania did you mean Philadelphia Pennsylvania? I know a lot of history about Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Benjamin Franklin died there on April 17th 1790 aged 84. The constitutional convention was held there in 1787 with George Washington as the president of the convention in which the U.S. constitution. Isn't that neat! I love that fluff! That exact brand makes strawberry fluff you have got to try it! Me and Louis are early risers. Me and Louis are usally up and awake by 7am ish lol. I miss baking with my mom. Louis doesn't really like baking and I figure I shouldn't push it until hes older. I always try to keep my papers organized but honesty my desk is a disaster. Lol when you said are you here for the baking or are you here for the decluttering or both all I could think of was I'm here for it all! Louis is always such a sweetheart he says its ok mom you should take a break and last week I was overwhelmed but also concerned for Louis health. He was so miserable and hw did not feel well at all and he still came down and he asked if he could help me and that just melted my heart. I think the project I am dreading most is going through my moms things. Something my mom loved doing was singing church hymns. Whenever I was sad about something my mom would tell me the lord has told us to rejoice in him so rejoice! That always stuck with me Have a wonderful weekend friend!

My latest decluttering is in my garage. I’m slowly working through my 13 bins, down from 16. Lots of pictures and sentimental stuff. I’m also repacking my husband’s things so what is in the garage will look neater.

Saturday: Went through and restocked emergency supply bins in car and the household first aid kit. I made a list and went to Target. On the way home we went through the car wash , to get the miserable road slush off. So pleasant to have a fresh car even if it will not last long! Hope you get through this storm soon.

Hello everyone. I love soup, my parents are from the south so we ate hearty beef vegetable soup (stew) with cornbread on the side. I too love spaghetti with bell peppers and plenty of onions. I have a box with my children items in it that I haven’t opened in years. I’m an single empty nester and work outside of my home. My son comes home for holiday breaks from college. I work long hours in health care and these past few years have been stressful so opening that box will be emotional. I plan on cleaning it out in May when my middle one graduates from college. That food/pies look good. I miss attending a church where we had dinners, heck I miss eating meals with people. Take care🙏🏿❤️😇

You can stack crates and make an extra bookcase I used to do that in my pantry for extra dry goods and in my back hall for cleaning supplies

Oh whoppie pies! The old argument between Maine and Pennsylvania on who was the first to make them! I’m from Southern Lancaster County and a descent of PA Dutch (my PapPap was raised Amish). We retired to western PA in the mountains and they call them gobs.

Very impressed with the synchronised dolloping but at a loss to know what the jars of fluff are 😂 I did think that the other ½ ounce was the bit that was stuck to the inside of the jar and got locked from the spoon.. I have declared it too cold for garage sorting this week but have cut out three tunics, two cardigans and a hoodie . I've also cleared the horrendous laundry backlog, throw n caution to the wind and previously untumbled clothes into the drier. Can't wait for March when I can often line dry in the garden without adding artificial to smells to it

Hi Barbara! I would not be declutter in a garage either! 🥶 Even my basement is chilly but no where near what a garage would be!! Fluff is basically whipped egg white and sugar. Karen, you are on a roll girl! The basement is looking good! 🤗 Sending ya a hug, I am happy for you! I know how tiring it is going through homeschool papers and deciding what to keep and discard. I can say I have decluttered 99% of the textbooks and work completed. I still have my grade books from high school years as well as samples of work. I think I can let it go now, my oldest graduated high school in 2007, my baby graduated in 2012.😜 Thank you for sharing how you re-use tablets that have a few pages used, I have done that for years only to have some folks tell me I was being ridiculous trying to save notebooks like that. They just threw it all in the trash and then would go buy all new things for the next term. I am thrifty and can’t stand wastefulness when it can be prevented easily. Like tearing a few used sheets out of a spiral notebook so the rest can be used. Anyhoo, thank you! I thought I was the only one who did that. 😊 i have never tried making Whoopi pies but y’all made it look easy so I may try it. I will have to look for a low sugar or keto version since I try to limit sugar intake for health reasons. The soup looked delicious. Will have to try it as well. Have a blessed weekend! ❤️❤️

I actually kinda don't hate it down there now!! 🤣 One of my daughters did college classes while in High School, then did a year of Art College on half scholarship, then wanted to go to Beauty School. Mind you, all of her college classes were A's and B's. Since the State of ME had never licensed an homeschooled esthetician, we had to get extra documentation to prove she really did High School!! 🤷🏻‍♀️??? That scared me into keeping High School stuff longer! Of course, to make it more confusing we lived out of the country in her freshman year for our adoption, so that was a bit of a hurdle too! OY! But it all worked out! I need to go through and take out samples so that I am not keeping so much!! I hope you can find some Keto friendly Whoopie Pies!! 💝💐

My homeschool records are contained but are not organized very well. I think I will put this on my spring break list of to dos. The recipe card of your Mom's is so special! Since it is getting very fragile you may want to consider having it put on an apron or cutting board or tea towel. There are companies that can transfer her writing on to these items.

I think Marshmellow "fluff" is available everywhere now, just not by that brand name. Around here it is called marshmellow creme, and is basically everything but the gelatin... I used to get that when I was a vegetarian and wanted marshmellows.

You could use those red folders and put them in your file cabinet and then file your tax returns by year in them. When I was a preteen I loved Fluff in hot chocolate. That brought back a lot of memories.

Hi Karen, both recipes look delicious, randomly we can get Fluff easily in the UK, I used to buy it but obviously no point now but do recall it being very moreish. The basement is certainly looking very organised, do you ever look back to old videos from when you began the de clutter? It’s good that it’s all there for you and us to see the change. Oh I could reminisce about childhood church potlucks for hours 😂🤗🥰 and Oh how I miss those old days but I have tonsay I'm also grateful for how far we've come that after Madeline's diagnosis well over a decade a go that now my church puts up an allergy friendly table and everyone labels those foods with contains or -free labels 🏷 Thank the lord for charity and compassion even from those who don't understand 🙌🥰😂

Great video today as always. The soup looks great especially for these cold winter days. I had my first whoopie pie when I was in Maine last summer and they are yummy. My one son still has a few years of high school so I have a huge stockpile of folders and notebooks, pens and other school supplies. I know he won't use them all but I'm suffering from the "Just in Case" problem that can happen when decluttering. Have a great weekend and have fun at your church supper.

It’s hard to organize when you have piles. My husband doesn’t understand it gets worse before it gets better. Dislike when I think I’m done and I find more for the tub on the bottom! I’ve been in our basement for 2 weeks now getting close to the light at the end of the tunnel!

My whoopie pie recipe is very different from yours and comes from my grandmother. I have made them for a business that ships lobsters all over the country and they included them with the lobsters. I just made some to send to North Carolina and now have to send some to my daughter's friend in Maryland. I am not a very good cook but my whoopie pies are loved by many. I use my cookie scoop to put the filling on the cookie part and then put the top on and squish it down. That looked like my white fluffy Christmas wreath from T.J. Maxx that you packed away.

I made them at home and brought them to the fish market he was shipping out of which was in my home town. Did it for 2 years until he moved the shipping part to Portland and since I'm 30 miles north I didn't want to drive there to deliver them. They used to freeze them and he said he couldn't wait to have one so he would eat them out of the freezer and it was like having a delicious ice cream sandwich.

Great video! I keep an empty bin at the front of my stored Christmas decorations for those inevitable items that I miss when undecorating. When I come across the random Christmas kitchen towel or stuffie, I just throw it in the “misc” Christmas bin.

We stopped at Staples on the way home from the gym, needed copies made of some important papers. Running the usual wash, still have two phone calls to make before the weekend. Gave the garage its necessary daily sweep out. I have never made Whoopie pies! Yours turned out beautifully! Montana does not have an official dessert, but S’mores are the unofficial camper choice. Huckleberry and cherry products, salmon , and morels are favorites. How nice to have such a lovely daughter💕. Perhaps I shall try the cake version of the pies!

My biggest thing I do not want to do is pictures, I worked on them today and my brain hurts and I thought I had a few years in a shoe box That needed to go in first well after 3 hours I WAS WRONG 😢😢. My husband (my youngest son's dad) passed in 2000 and I just whatted to get passed those years. And I did not. My son was 2 when his father passed he's 24. And now I remember why I didn't want to do them. Am sad cookies look yummy. Mmm you make me hungry 😂🥰

Let me know what you think when you do!! Don't add the milk before you cream like it says to in the directions! We did at first and had to start over. It was too much. Cream, then add milk and blend that in! 👩‍🍳

You said some people are here for the decluttering, some people are here for the recipes and some are here for both... I am here for Leo (and Woozi) hehe. (I'm kidding. a little bit) I remember that post on Instagram about the creepy santa. That made me laugh. What a shock that would have been hehe. I love Ivon! It makes me happy to see you and her doing things together :) I have never seen a whoopie pie before so I enjoyed watching you make them. Have you thought about getting that recipe from your mum laminated or something to protect it? It is very special. (hugs) I have never been to a church supper. I am not sure they even have them here (in Australia.. maybe they do and I just don't know about them) but they sound lovely. I love that you have such fond memories of them growing up, that is really nice. My sister used to say that brussel sprouts are angry little cabbages hehe. Hi Em! That’s a great idea to laminate the recipes!! That’s interesting that church suppers aren’t a *thing* where you are. Mainers love them and you see signs for them on the roadside and they are advertised in the newspaper! Bean suppers with Boston baked beans is a big thing too even amount clubs. Another great video Karen. The soup recipe looks delicious and nutritious. The whoopie pies looked good too, but I can't have sugar. Have you considered using only lose leaf notebook paper stored in binders for homeschool to make saving certain papers easier? Does your district allow scanned copies of work for proof? We saved special items from each grade by scanning them into a file.

This year I moved to all looseleaf and you are right that it is SO MUCH BETTER! I hated to throw away all those notebooks. Don't know if I should donate used notebooks with half the sheets left? What do you use on your nails? I do them myself just Sally Hansen quick dry two coats then one coat gloss. I have been thinking about doing home gel nails. Not sure which brand.
