Subscribe and join me!! ♥️
I just want to say one last thing I know you were talking about changing your channel name at one point and when you said Slow Gentle Living... I was like... that should be it!!! Aww God Bless you.
Also Karen, you may like a channel called Cleaning therapy I find her soothing She doesn't move too fast but she's intentional and more gentle. She does a lot of chatting too which is nice when you are doing stuff. You may already know about her but if not, you shoudl check her out. Also her husband is diabled and so is mine so that resonates with me.
Hey Karen, I would love to hear Robin preach. I am sure he's great at it Because I see the way he is when you have your cooking with Mr. Mainer segments. he's so paitent and I feel like if he does any conseling at the church he does amazing at it like you feel like he would truly listen to you. if that makes sense. I haven't commented on your videos in a whole because I have been behind in watching. I have missed them while I have been away from your channel. Your garden and outdoor areas are so relaxing to me as well as they way you talk while you are doing your work. Keep being amazing and have a blessed day if I don't comment again as I watch. lol.
I write a note of foods that need to be eaten before they expire and I place it on the fridge with a magnet. Once that food is eaten, I simply scratch it off the list.
I guess im in the minority because i do not like slow living. I want to be busy and watch videos for the inspiration to keep going otherwise im a couch potato.
Why on earth would I care about how I am described at my own funeral??? I will be dead and gone. That idea is really taking co-dependency to the next level of disfunction. Just live your life as you see fit and what anyone else thinks about that is their "issue". UGGHHH, no wonder people cannot just live joyously and be contented with what is. Also, you may model proper mental health to your children and as a result they will be fine, or not. We ALL have to find our own way in life, regardless.
Our trash pick up bill is part of our water and sewage bill. My bill is about $56.00 a month. It was under $30.00 but they added more recycling drop off bins. It doesn’t bother me to have it that high cuz the garage truck comes 2x a week and since my husband and I recycle and compost alot of the times our trash can doesn’t have to go to the road much
That was a lovely comment that you highlighted. I also loved what you said with regards to being intentional about what's the best thing you could be doing right now. 13:00
I would love to hear robins sermon- and I’ve had quite a few God smacks where I was so busy I couldn’t hear him till His lesson smacked me upside the head and He said listen
I followed everything you said in this video. And am adjusting accordingly. Thx for speaking the truth. Just my humble opinion. Take care. Until next time t time.
Karen, you really have a calming spirit! My anxiety has been high recently because of a health issue, but watching your videos and hearing your calm voice, I feel my anxiety going down. Thank you!
A nice relaxing video today, Karen. I love the idea of the candy corn wreath. Regards advice on cutting back the runners in your rose bush, it really depends on whether you want your encourage it into being a climber or not. If you prefer a more uniform look, then cut it back. I personally would cut them back because this helps the plant not to focus all its energy just into the long runners, but rather into strengthening the plant as a whole; especially in its first year of growth.
Yes, I would love to hear the sermon. I missed our Sunday service this week as I was caring for my husband after his TAVR procedure on Friday and he was discharged on Saturday. Today is Tuesday and he is feeling much better.
Would the book you were talking about by any chance be an audible book? My sight is beginning to fail me to the point where I have to put something right up to my face to read.
I did want to ask you, what do you do on the days that you don’t feel well or on actual sick days? I’m currently suffering my a cold that I can’t seem to get rid of and I’ve gotten to the point of the cold cycle where I’m just to tired to want to do anything. I got up this morning realizing I have a ton of stuff that needs to be done.
I think you need to give in and rest. Go ahead and get a sheet of paper and brain dump everything that you feel needs to be done. Then take a hard look. What can wait until another day? When you see what can’t, why can’t it wait? You will definitely feel better in the days to come especially if you rest, hydrate, take your vitamins… For the stuff that absolutely HAS to happen, is there anyone in the home who could help? Praying for you sweet friend! I understand how anxiety tells us we have to keep going. But if you don’t stop and take care of yourself, you might get worse and eventually be forced to stop for much longer! ❤️🩹
Thanks for the video, Karen :) I'm hesitant to embrace "slow living" in the way it's so widely being used now. I see aspects of it that truly reflect a Christian way of life. As trends go, though, I find women try methods to fill and fix our hearts and minds the way only the Word and Jesus can. When I read or hear, these lifestyles are often accompanied with yoga and the like which I try to stay clear of, not in a legalistic way but for me it just blurs too many lines.
I think with anything, we always filter it through the Word of God. I think of slow living as giving up hustle culture and its toxicity, taking time to be thankful, to breathe, to meditate on God's Word. It's about balance. I recognize I am slowing down and I am seeing the beauty and balance in it that I had forgotten. Try not to get caught up in the title. Try to think of what I am saying as "Intentional living", walking God's will for YOU instead of saying yes to all of the things culture and others say should be part of your life. God doesn't need us to be hurried; he needs us to be intentional and think about how we spend our days. You are right. We have to be careful that we don't replace the peace of God with the pursuit of fake peace outside of God. Definitely duly noted! ♥
I too had to quit watching the news. My sister actually became almost paranoid about going out of her house worrying about all the things she watched on the news.
Yes, I try to have the majority of the housework/reset done before the weekend, but I don't work outside the home so I don't know how realistic that is for most people.
I think there is a product from the Simple Green company that made to remove algae from your siding and deck. I think it might be less toxic than other cleaners you might use.
Karen, I enjoyed watching today. Getting the everyday tasks done is so important and the simpler a space is the easier it is to keep it in order. I think your lounge fits into Joshua Becker’s description of rational minimalism. Which is why as I’ve mentioned before I think the main level of your house is pretty minimal already. Regards reset days, I always do my main house reset on a Monday for the week ahead, although my hubby and I have different days each week that we do different things around the house so we can ensure things get done every week. For example, Monday is shopping day (hubby does the shopping) whilst I do the house reset etc. I think the weekends should be kept for relaxation and fun projects or for doing bigger projects around the house that require specific attention.
