oh hey! it's been a minute, but i'm back in 2020 and ready to get my life together with a huge home/closet/everything declutter. come along for the ride as i purge, organize, and clean my new york city studio apartment for the new year.

Nice job!! The struggle is real. I've been downsizing, repurposing, recycling, donating & blessing for 3 years. It's a process 4 sure. I've learned to stay on top of it all...if we can do that. What I like to remind myself is...it's easier to "keep up than catch up". Enjoy the journey, even when it doesn't feel like it's very enjoyable. Be blessed.

Welcome back! I, too, remove my name and address from junk mail. It's true: You NEVER know how that stuff could be used. Good on you for doing that.

Oh yes, my mom ALWAYS removed address labels & shredded before discarding, and I learned to continue that from her! 💯👍 You did a FABULOUS JOB!!!!Your video inspired me to clean as soon as I get home today! 😄👌

Hefty brand makes clear bins with red lids and green locking closures in different sizes. I pared down my stuff, ditched cardboard boxes, and got these bins, on sale at Lowe's, which now live happily under the bed ( after I got bed risers)!

Watching videos while I clean up and organizing my room since we thought we had to move year go. I love your dream catcher. I just blue medium size from Arizona day trip few month go and mini blue one always had them but yeah just been to lazy to start it

Not sure about other countries, but in the UK you can give unwanted tote bags to food banks. The clients need strong bags to take home their donated food.

Yes PLEASE. I volunteer at one. MD is getting rid of plastic bags July 1. It is a challenge to get clients to bring their own bags. You can send them to me!

ill take the reusable bags. I'm an instacart shopper and always feel guilty when people have to buy shopping bags. I wish there was a way we all could donate reusable bags at the grocery stores. Best- T

My locan store does this! It has a box by the door where people can leave their unwanted grocery and produce bags, and other people can take them.

I hope this helps but staples are completely recyclable and do not need to be removed from paper. Recycling facilities sort these (and paper clips) as part of the paper recycling process.

I do that with my mail too. I tear off and shred the parts that have my name or address and recycle what I can of the rest.

Not sure how much space you have in your apartment, but a cross-cut shredder is an excellent way to get rid of mail with your address on it.

Cut down on mail by going to Catalog Choice and opting out. They plant trees for every so many catalogs unsubscribed from-and it’s not just catalogs but most mailings.

I just have to say it, because I went through this recently and moved so many times. You have to much stuff and you need todo a huge purge and stop organizing and storing. It cost money, just downsize.

It might depend on the recycling centre, but I've heard it's not recommended to recycle very small pieces of paper, as they easily get caught by the wind and escape? But would blacking them out with a permanent marker be a good idea?
