Decluttering & Organizing My Home Office 

I'm a professional organizer and loved watching this video! I shared it because I love how organizing your space made you feel so creative and excited about your home office again!

The older you get the more you realize that less is more. Purged my closet yesterday since it’s freezing and snowy here in the Atlanta area and love that feeling of now having a closet that’s all clean and tidy! Love your videos! Bless you!

I love cleaning and organizing, l actually get excited about it!! My husband and I just had our condo freshly painted, before each room put back together I went in and cleaned out all the things I knew we weren't going to use anymore and either gave them away or threw it away and it felt so liberating and now we have so much more space it feels great!!

I love your office, because it's on the smaller side and truly looks cozy. Big enough for everything you need but small enough to find things easily.

Just moved into a new place one week ago and I can see everything I don't need or have not used in so long. I needed to see this video to motivate me to get my things put in their proper place. Amazing how life is less stressful when you only have what you need and not all the clutter.

I can't wait to do this to our house once the remodeling is finished. Living in a construction zone for the last two years has been driving my husband and me batty! It's an older home that needed a ton of work. We're about halfway through with it. I watch things like this to keep me motivated to get it finished so we can finally get it organized. I too have started a decluttering and half way through I wanted to cry and asked myself, what have I done? In the end it's worth it but it always turns out to be a bigger project then planned, so plan for more time than you anticipate. Good job kiddo!

What you said about "getting rid of what we don't use" is a key to cleaning and organized. I am reading an AARP book on Kindle entitled "Downsizing The Family Home: What to Save, What to Let Go". I am on the road to minimalism. In 2017 I completed my small capsule wardrobe and got started on the house. So, in 2018 the house will be finished. (I'm actually moving into an RV in 2019) Paper and clothes are the two hardest categories for most people.

I'm a box hoarder ( I keep all the boxes that stuff comes in). I need to get rid of all that. I guess I'm just a hoarder in general. My goal for this year is to do what you did, take one area at a time so it doesn't seem so overwhelming. Thanks for the inspiration!!!! One tip that I do is take all the instruction manuals from any electronics or appliances, etc., and put them in page protectors and put that in a three ring binder. Always accessible and easy to find when needed. Love your videos!!!!

Oh my goodness! I so need to tackle my home office! I work from home & my office has become a dumping ground for all the stuff that no one knows where to put! I’m finally going to make this space the calm serene place i need it to be so I can feel more productive!

Great job!! I love it when a place feels peaceful and am working on making my office into my haven. If you haven't read the life changing magic of tidying up, I would strongly encourage it before tackling clothes!! It is SUCH an amazing way of looking at your possessions and surrounding yourself with joy and love, while also releasing your liked or unloved possessions out into the world to bless others. I read the book years ago, reread it last year, and find myself noticing when I pick up an item and smile immediately now. It gives you precious insights.

My son helped me clean out my office closet a few months ago. It’s a great feeling to get that kind of project done.

Simply love your tutorials....I'm in the processing of painting the interior of our home and decluttering as I go...it is very liberating and I love that there is so much more room. I'm also moving some furniture from one room to another to create new looks. Love your new hair style very young and fresh.

I am going through the same thing myself! It takes time! Good for your get up and go. You can upload your CDs into your Mac or iPhone, etc and dump the CD’s completely. I had to switch to ebooks because I needed the space. I love your built-ins and your desk. Cheers.

i am a “closet purger”. meaning i purge in secret bc my husband keeps everything. i’ve even got a mission impossible thing going on where i’ll remove an item of his into a “new undisclosed location”. in short time, of its not mentioned it gets tossed.

I have moved / downsized twice in the past 3 years and still have so much more to do - thank you for sharing this video! I am inspired to figure out where to start.... right after one more RU-vid video. :)

I cleaned out our master closet in Dec 2017. Took me an entire Sunday to get it done and cleaned. But oh, how fulfilling it was to finally clean it out! I don’t mind going in that closet now! 😊

I love having my closets & drawers organized. My family teases me in good fun, but it really does make sense to have “a place for everything & everything in its place.” 😉 Great video-you even look pretty & fashionable while cleaning. 💗

Now that I have recently retired I've been purging my house of stuff. I take a drawer, a closet several times a week and if I haven't looked at it or used it in a year - out it goes! I'm taking weekly trips to the local charity and I feels liberating to get rid of stuff I no longer need. 5 bags of work clothes, shoes and bags, sheets, towels etc.

Great video. Hard to get rid of stuff...sentimental, videos, papers etc. The older I get the more I want it gone. Been meaning to try the Konmari method. Love your haircut and glasses.

My sewing room needs some serious love. It's a large room over the garage and has been the dumping ground for things from the house for a number of years. Don't know what to do with it? Send it to the sewing room! It's to the point where my creativity is stifled and productivity is hampered. My goal is to have it completely organised by June. Lots of fabric and unfinished projects that need sorting through. I have to break it into bite sized tasks and reward myself with sewing time after accomplishing a task. Wish me luck!

I took down all the Christmas decorations yesterday....uffffffff.....THAT was 6 hours of work....now the house looks a bit sad and "empty" but soon it will be time for Spring decorations. Awesome video! My home office was on my 2018 list as well. I have been tackling it in stages and I am at 90% complete. I've lost my motivation to finish the last 10% but your video has inspired me to take this over the finish line - you did a great job (and so will I - lol!). Let's keep getting things done in 2018! (You get extra points for doing the job in a scarf - having it dangle around without it bothering you was impressive!).
