Deconstruction: Skinnerbox Analyse Krystal Klear's Neutron Dance (Electronic Beats TV)

Krystal Klear's Italo disco-influenced Neutron Dance on Running Back was everywhere last year. But what sounds, instruments and effects did they use to build the deceptively simple track? To find out, Telekom Electronic Beats TV asked live-electronics masters Skinnerbox to remake the track from scratch, in the process discovering the tune's hidden depths.

@@575garden the 106 was one of the first "portable" synths back in the days, so it means something arround 10 kilos made of wood & steel;)

My juno 106 doesnt work anymore. It powers on but it has a noise sound when you turn it on. But i can still use it as a midi controller

@@ElectronicBeatsTV certainly one of the biggest, but a success that seemed so contrived by a few big DJs and the electronic music press in a fashion most familiar to the pop industry. RA hyped it as a summer anthem before it was even released and it had barely been played. Most remarkable for the sheer disparity between the reputation and what is a trite, derivative, forgettable piece of music. Certainly a matter of opinion, but a track that invites the contempt.
