Since this STL file first popped up a few months ago Ive contemplated printing this repeatedly. I think this video has inspired me enough to finally do so. Keep up the good work because you just earned yourself a new subscriber!
This is your most-viewed, yes? Would you try it with LEDs? Or this inside / atop / part of a wizard's tower? As usual, love the frog - your deathly skull is a symbol of life everlasting = )
Actually my most viewed is my Crystal Trees. This is the close second. There is a version of this model in thibgiverse that has been hollowed out to add LEDs that I have seen since making this build which is definitely something that would be an awesome addition! Im also using a slightly faulty print of this in one of my coming up builds as a paice of terrain, keep an eye out for my dead primordial remains scatter terrain
@@SebMakesStuff Your chrystal trees are the bomb. I saw another RU-vidr that did them after you and she did NOT give you credit (legally i am not allowed to slap her down, sorry). I will keep an eye out for your dead primordial remains and if i lose that eye i will have to bill you for the marble-glass replacement.
Haha I'm sure she came about it in her own way. And if not I'm just happy to have inspired something cool amongst our crafting community. I'll have to look out for that video tho, I love to see what others come up with from my ideas. Haha I can print you a replacement eye, specially painted just for you
Wow, Seb! You have outdone yourself! This is fantastic! Watching this I couldn't help thinking how this could happen to someone and in life they would never think of it happening to them! Knarley! Have you started watching Obi-Wan Kenobi? I bet you have and I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple weeks you don't have a diorama inspired by the show! Never stop making stuff Seb because you just keep getting better and better! lol
Such a criminally under-watched channel! I'm really getting interested in trying out this as a new hobby. Has anyone made a guide for essential equipment to get started with?
Thank you 😁 Welcome to the Hobbying world! If you're talking about 3d printing. Check out danny at "3d printed tabletop" He has some great intros to the 3 printing world. If you're thinking more about the painting and decoration side then there are a few Chanel's out there like "Black Magic Craft", "Nerdforge" and "Real Terrain Hobbies" that do an amazing job. Really to start out all you need is a set of paints, some glue and dirt. Then slowly build up your other supplies as particular builds call for it or a good Amazon deal catches your eye
I would do the uv resin repairs and the sanding of the layer lanes and then do the primer only when that was finished... It turned out great though. :)
Yer that would have been the best approach for sure. This was kind of a figure it out as I go kinda job. But you're dead on for the best order of operations
Watching while sitting and waiting for the resin to cure on my own tower build. I think I've been working on it for 6 months now.... It won't look at cool as this. 😅
Hi, love the videos, very imaginative and original. I watched this video with my son and he wants to do this as a joint project (a teen wanting to do something with their dad is so rare) so would you mind letting me know your 3d printer settings. I have a lot of trouble getting longer prints to work and would like to minimize the failure rate especially as you said that it is a 24 hour print. Keep coming with the great ideas, I'm making a wizard tower from juice bottles and can't help but wonder how you doing the same would turn out. Thanks
Thanks mate, really appreciate it. Also makes my day to know it's encouraging you guys to work on a project together 😊 My setting were 0.8 wall thickness, 10% grid infill, printing at 205° nozel temp and 55° bed temp. At a speed of 70mm/s. It had a little bit of stringing but luckily came out nice enough on the first attempt. Would love to see your end result once you guys are done. And I'll have to add the soda bottle tower to my list of builds, I'm just starting to run out of space for all my builds haha
@@SebMakesStuff Hi Seb, My Ender3 pro using cura says this is a 82 hour print. In your video you say 24 hours. Did you change size/supports/anything that you haven't listed in the settings that you listed please?
interesting, that's a looong print time. Ive played around with my print settings a lot over the last year so I'm not 100% sure what changes ive made. Ill give you my full settings tho, I printed him again yesterday with these settings and it came out in about 24 hours again. Hopefully this helps layer height: 0.2 wall thickness: 0.8 wall line count: 2 Top/ Bottom thickness: 0.8 top layers: 4 bottom layers: 4 Infill density 10.0 infill pattern: grid print temp: 205 build plate temp: 60 print speed: 70mms enable retraction: yes retraction distance: 6.0 no supports build plate adhesion: brim
@@SebMakesStuff Sorry that it's taken so long to reply, I redid the settings and if I print at 80% then I can get the print time down to 24 hours and 42 mins which is way more acceptable. I am going to buy the same filament as you so waiting for that to come, I'll let you know what happens. In the mean time I think I'll try a tiny version for mini 10mm dice to start with. Thx again
