Simon, I watched this video while having breakfast on the big screen television this morning and I am now replaying it on the computer. The telly does not record the credit for RU-vid, so I make sure to run the full video when I am at the computer. Thanks again for the informal chat and thought wanderings...enjoyed the video. My thought is palm fronds...
Wow Simon, here I have been drooling over all of your pottery for weeks now and wondering how I'm going to get across the pond to take a workshop from you and then I go to your website and see you're living in the states. This means I don't have to travel as far but still a distance since I'm not on the east coast any longer. But it's still a shorter trip to where you are now. Woo hoo. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos.
Thank you for sharing so much. Just wondering why Copper oxide (CuO) or carbonate (CuCO3) is not used to get green colour, in the same way that you use iron and cobalt oxides. Is it water soluble after firing? What if I apply a little on a surface and bisque fire it, with no intention if glazing it. Would it stay on?
Where do you get your brushes. They seem nice and springy, whereas mine just bend at the first sign of brush stroke preasure and dont spring back. Are they a particilar brand or hair type? or do you treat them with something ? starch , viagra ??? help!!!!
yes but they are not all equal in quality. I have caligraphy brushes but they do not work as well as simons. The bristles do not spring back , making it hard to get a nice fine release point ( the tails simon refered to) on a brush stroke.
