Those gingerbread houses are absolutely beautiful. Your multi-talents exceeds everyone's expectations. The New York dressed windows at Christmas has nothing compared to yours......the recycle, reuse method of creating holiday cheer just warms our hearts. Rick rack! I laughed so hard when you and your sister were confused! I knew exactly where she was going with that idea - hiding cracks and such like you do with caulk around a window. Love love love these houses. May steal the idea to do with the grandkids on a MUCH smaller scale. Real gingerbread is great but I hate how it attracts bugs in the house when you leave them out. This is a great alternative.

Accolades for this delightful and “feel good” video. I’m sure that most of us had a smile on our face as we watched the synergy and interaction between you, your sister and mother.. Laura, such a wonderful video of three beautiful women enjoying each other‘s company, and having a passion for what you do. Your encouragement of your moms ideas is too cute, and your sister is there to do whatever needs to get the job done. Even though this video was not garden related, I think it is one of my favorites. It was so much fun to watch it go from a cardboard washer box to an amazing gingerbread village. They were all so cute and I completely agree that it would be hard to stop decorating. You could just keeping adding fun things. Your creativity is beyond amazing and I just know that you are going to get nothing but positive comments from your customers. Thanks so much for filming this whole process. This was fun! My mom and her 3 sisters were crazy talented all in different areas. My nana & her mother too. I love glitter! Its funny the older I get the more sparkly I like things lol. I would have glittered everything lol... I love the "details". Put my tree up a week ago and for the first time a silver tinsel tree. We have rescue pups and couldn't put a tree up last year they would have destroyed it so this year I put the empty tree up for a couple wks to see what they would do. The dogs like to chew branches so I will put several fresh trees outside and try again next year. We've been putting up lights all over the farm the chicken coop too lol. Been a rough year for a lot of us, I feel everyone needs it, our neighbors have recently lost spouses and we lost our grandmother over the weekend she was 88, so some joy is needed! I usually watch everyday but been so busy with cleaning & crafting so got behind. I am binge watching and resting today since I over did it yesterday (probably the last 2 wks) hanging lights on the barn, horse corrals and even our vintage camper lol. My illness causes severe joint/muscle pain and its attacking my arms and shoulders so with hot water bottle it is a good day to catch up even though my mind is in over drive and wants desperately to get moving. Its lousy getting old. I would watch her (Laura) watching paint dry lol... Happy decorating & happy thanksgiving!!!

Oh Laura, I'm a retired florist. My shop was in South Florida. We had 2 huge windows that were decorated 8 times a year. I am so impressed with your ingenuity. The gingerbread houses are AMAZING!! It makes me want to have a go at some for my house. We can't afford many decorations this year, but displays like that are very impactful and cheap to put together :D Love the vlog style videos where we follow along with your journey; not everything needs to be instructional. This was the most fun had decorating for Christmas ever and I didn’t burn my fingers with hot glue once! Thanks for the inspiration I think I may put up my tree early this year because my aunt is visiting from Texas for probably what is her last trip. She goes home before Thanksgiving but I want to show her a happy time! She has dementia and everything is in the now. Again, thank you for the festive inspiration!! Bless you all and Happy Holidays!

This is so awesome and funny because I know exactly your process. Our family of 4 built a sherman tank out of cardboard, a ton of hot glue, and duct tape on the chassis of a folding fabric sided cart we use for taking groceries up from our parking garage. It's big enough for my 9 year old to be pushed around in for Halloween. Havent had the heart to break it down still yet after all the work we put into it.

Every piece of clothing my grandmother made for me (or my dolls) until I was about 6 years old was adorned with rickrack. Apparently, she used it (rickrack) in place of ruffles, because my mother complained to her about how hard they were to iron. Those windows are going to make everyone's day. Everyone walking by, driving by, or just knowing they're there... In fact, those windows have made MY day. Thank you!!

My mom sewed matching Christmas dresses for me and my two sisters circa 50’s. Rickrack was always the trim! Thank you for tweaking that wonderful memory. Now that you know rickrack, ask your mom about polished cotton! Our special occasion dresses were always sewn with polished cotton!

This is so fun to watch it reminds me of when my mom was still teaching 3rd grade and made all of her room decorations and bulletin boards. As I got older I started to help her with those or took on the project entirely. She's been retired from teaching now since 1998.

This is probably one of my favorite projects that I have really enjoyed watching you construct from all the years of watching your videos. Very cute! Love it so much. Benjamin is such a sweet little boy and enjoys spending time with his mom. I wish more people had relationships with their kids the way you do. I have enjoyed your videos over the years but more so watching your family and this channel grow. 🥰

The houses are so cute! When I was growing up my brothers and sisters would walk to town and bring home appliance boxes to make plays houses and even use them to sleigh down the grass hill in the summer. You hit it out of the park!

Loved this project! Reminded me of the playhouse I made for our kids when they were around Benjamin’s age. Also used a large appliance box. Added a roof with shingles and a chimney. Door and windows and a cardboard stove and fridge inside. It cost almost nothing and they played in it for ages! I can only imagine how cute you could make one, because these are adorable!♥️

Oh Laura, Mom & Sis how absolutely adorable!! Laura I’m actually doing candy land/ gingerbread theme on my city home porch this year when I’m finished it will be on my Instagram!! They turned out amazing! I'm totally inspired and I'm now thinking of all the ways I can adapt this for my business, I'm in England and we have a pub that used to be a shop so the whole front of the building is huge windows. I love hand making as much of the decor as I can for it and add to it every year :)
