We discuss the most recent advance in arrow cutting technology, the Decut Arrow Saw. We discuss the price of it, and why we are testing it in the first place. We do a speed test and see how fast and accurately I can cut a dozen arrows. We also discuss who would want to buy this product and discuss the price to build quality.

This is a great affordable saw,had one for a few years now and never had a problem with it. Regards the plug "issue",its simple, just cut that plug off and fit the one you want, takes a few minutes and never think about it again.

Been using one of these for 5 years in my shop and its still going strong. We 3d printed a replacement cowl that has dust extraction, that will also take away those very short cuts without getting your fingers close! Only issue with it, is that the measure on the table is only a rough guide and you have to measure every set-up with a measure stick.

I use my metal working lathe and a dremil with flexidrive and cutting disc to cut my arrows. Does a brilliant job and fairly quick when you know what your doing. Extra bonus... I can cut fletched arrows or bare shafts without nocks

Been using this the last 2-3 years now it’s been great . The measurements on it are kinda wonky I adjusted it all to be as close as possible but it’s not perfect. My only complaint is if you have it on a bench the carbons can fall down and bounce back into the cut off wheel and explode the wheel. Unless you have it right over the edge of a bench . Even adding a tray to catch the cut offs it still can come back to the wheel and when that wheel explodes it’s terrifying. I wish there was a back guard so the carbon can’t come back to it

Have the pro version. It works, though the motor is pretty weak, and not sure why they couldn't have guided the arrow square to the blade. As it is, if you don't cut in small increments the shaft will cut at an angle and need squaring. Blades are rather thin and we've replaced with better version from the hardware store. Our motor gave up after a couple of months shop use.

Not that I cut many! What I use though is my normal Makita cut off saw with a metal cutting blade fitted, it also has a dust extractor.

How exactly do you cut them though? I hope it's in a jig and not eyeballed.

@roycurrie9208 That's definitely a way to do it, although I don't think it's ideal (if it works for you then go for it😅)

Blades are just cement bonded grit. I have this saw and broke the blade just moving the saw from one bench to another. Other than that, saw works perfect. Here in the US, I just re-wired for our plug system. I do wish the saw would have worked with a Dremel cut off disc and not proprietary decut blades.

it is baffling how lazy people are. want want want. oi vay. another interesting video. I do not have the decut saw, but i am SO glad I have a saw for my own arrows. Archery shops near me dry up fast, so self reliance is a must.

I bought the non-pro version many years ago and have cut hundreds of arrows and these are my thoughts... - The grinding discs are poor quality. i suggest going to a hardware store and buying better one. - The non-pro version doesnt have the foot switch, which would be very useful and i wish I'd bought the pro. - The motor isn't very powerful, but not a huge issue. - The non-pro is a pain in the butt to adjust. ...In short, buy the pro version and buy a better cutting disc!!

Why do people break blades? If it happens to an individual on one occasion only after they have learned how to properly use the tool, it could be a faulty blade. If it happens more than once, I would say it’s most likely to be a lack of mechanical sympathy and poor technique.
