In this episode of the California State Firefighters' Association Spotlight Series, we get to hear from City of El Segundo FD Fire Chief Deena Johnson Lee. I met Deena while I was working for the City of Long Beach FD, and she was working at Long Beach Memorial as an ER tech. I’m so proud of her leadership journey, and I’m grateful for her commitment to pay it forward and inspire the next generation of first responders. We all have busy lives and commitments, but it’s critical to give back and make time to mentor and coach others. Who knows…You might inspire a future fire chief.
