The prop that really sold it for me and made me realise that these guys really knew what they were doing, was the little pyramid air ioniser on one of the desks - I worked in the computer games industry and one of my colleagues had one of those, it was a lovely obscure little detail. Also - I let Jeff Minter borrow my PC once, whilst I was out of the office..........when I logged on the next day, my windows desktop picture had been changed.....................to a lovely photo of a llama.

I always wanted one of those when I was younger. I used to circle them in the Autumn/Winter Argos catalogue hoping my folks would get me one for Christmas. Never bloody did though.

I love Black Mirror but I didn't like Bandersnatch. I respect them for trying something different. My only really nerdy nitpick is about the set design. Colin's Akira poster. There's no way he would have had that in the year it was set. The game Nosedive reminds me of the game Downwell on PS4. An Akira It Ain't Broke would be nice.

The 1st volume of the Akira Manga came out in 1982 (with the picture of the black explosion) and the episode takes place in 1984, so maybe??? (But unlikely).

@@tph2010 very unlikely a Brit back then would have. The manga wasn't translated then and to have one of the panels made into a canvas back then hmmm. No internet back then either. This is similar to Stranger Things where one of the kids has an Evil Dead poster despite the film not having purchasable posters until a lot later.

Well Colin was hinted to be a time traveller and know a bit more about reality then everyone else did so it kinda makes sense that he would have a future poster on his wall to hint to the fact there’s something odd about him Idk that’s just my opinion

I did not notice the Akira poster. Most people I talk to about it, do not like it because its too dark and weird. I am a self taught programmer, I thought the main actor and his home desk did have the look of someone who writes code on their home computer.

That was a great interview, & a fascinating insight on the museum, & the props they provided, as well going in to the history of home computing, a decade I grew up in. I always think that 1979-1984 was the best years when it came to technology, because it was the starting point of bigger things, but at the same time, the games were fun, simple, twats to try & complete, & you could multitask, eg waiting for a game, you could read a Fighting Fantasy novel, or a Sinclair User, The Beano, or if you was a teenager 2000AD, or VIZ. The best thing about home computers in the 80s is that you could hook it up to any portable black & white or colour television. Who’d of thought that for a brief moment Cambridge could have been the British equivalent to Silicon Valley.

We are actually sometimes referred to as "silicon fen", not as glamorous I know, but Microsoft, Apple and ARM are all here! -R

This was fascinating stuff. My sister had a Sinclair model, can’t remember the exact one though. It’s probably up in the loft.

Bandersnatch tickled all the right nostalgia danglies for me (as a lifelong Speccy nut), so for my 7th or 8th favourite RU-vid channel to do this sort of follow up piece is particularly splendid. Top job guys. You might have been promoted to 6th favourite now... ;-)

I relate to Duncan, this is just going over my head, interesting, but ultimately I'm just wandering if Richard chose sugar puffs or frosties.

As someone that played on ZX Spectrum's in their childhood (still got my Spectrum+2 128k), this episode brought back some great memories. Many an hour was spent playing games such as - Robocop, 1942, Paperboy, Batman, Daley Thompson's Decathlon, and Chuckie Egg. This was an interesting departure from the norm, and I would definitely be keen to see some similar episodes in the future.
