As an ex-Postie this was great to watch. What a transformation! I can tell you this is the most love a Royal Mail vehicle will ever get in its life. They are treated so bad during their working lives. Vans are rarely assigned to just one person. They are driven hard, never cleaned and even the newest vans have a dent or two within a few months. They have a hard time on the road delivering and it’s great to see this vehicle with a new lease of life! Good work
They look to have marginally improved with the Peugeots but it’s still a rough old fleet, I remember some of those LDVs being in a right state, so faded they were almost white and not a straight panel on them 😆
As a current RM fleet mechanic, i can confirm that thay are still abused daily. i'd have the combos back in a heartbeat though,great little vans. the fiats, peugeotsand Mercedes just fall apart

Cracking transformation job you did there 👌. The bodywork, interior and engine bay were completely unrecognisable compared to how they were beforehand. So satisfying to see faded red bodywork brought back to life. Looking forward to your next video 👍.

Wow, what a channel, totally subscribed!!! I've recently bought a former Royal Mail Vauxhall Combo (57 reg) to do a campervan conversion and have that faded tired bodywork and filthy interior. I'm really not well-versed with car cleaning etc but your Combo videos have shown me everything I need to do and how to do it, which is a big deal for me. As others have said, great no-nonsense videos working with real cars. Nice one!!!

I'd love to see a video where your told "feel free go to work on a van" but I understand the economics behind the used vechicle market determine how much goes into these vans and it becomes uneconomical and unprofitable go beyond a certain point of a restoration detail. Another van rescued fair play 🙌

Good to see you look after your self wearing PPE ... So many detailers on RU-vid handle harsh chemicals and dont even wear gloves. Im a mobile detailer in the UK. My van is an ex royal mail, ex large load escort vehicle 2003 Vauxhall combo 1.7Di with starship miles. Ive owned it for the last 14 years and Ive detailed it maybe 3 times. It needs another if I get the time. It has the usual combo water leak on the plate that holds the master cylinder into the drivers footwell. So I have plants and green stuff growing in the footwell. My customers dont care what my van looks like when I arrive, they care what their cars look like when I leave. I see very few new people per month, I dont have the time. 95% of my customers are returning domestic customers The rest of the time I do finishing and final polishing for a few local body shops. I cut my teeth in the motor trade. Needless to say, I steer clear of motor traders (bunch of pirates) and the motoring dross they deal with.
I bought a red combo like this myself 2 months ago an t cut an then polished it myself, i only really got it so i could have a go at cleaning the faded paint i done it by hand an it was way more work than i thought lol nice work buddy

Loved the video. I find it way more satisfying to see a real life worksvan get cleaned. A trim dressing I really like to use is Owatrol Polytrol. It is really cost effective and leaves a great long lasting color darkening an gloss effect. You can even shine up metal parts with it, which I find great for engine bays.
You certainly polished some value back into this van! I remember the combo van you did before in this colour but this is an even better transformation- great job👍👍👍👍👍
