I bought a Sterling AX40d and it is pretty good for what i paid($425 brand new). It Has the USA Custom wound Dimarzio's and a pretty good Copy of the Gotoh 1996T. Overall it is a very good guitar BUT i have really wanted a genuine AXIS for a long time now and may finally be getting one in a few months. Of all the EVH signature guitars the AXIS is my favorite. The original EVH one has too narrow a neck for me(along the frets) and i do not like where the toggle switch is.

Hi buddy, great info in the video, I am about to customise a Sterling AX4 into this guitar, do you have any info on the amber stain or know what would be close match. I'm going to add a quilted maple top and want to get the amber stain as close as possible. Thanks
I used turmeric with warm water. If you look on Instagram there are some pictures on my page. You want it to be lighter before the clear goes over it as it will darken up if you use oil based poly. Complete build on Instagram EBMMEVH
