Considering how dark the setting is and how confusing prophecies are, i think the “prince who was promised” isnt a hero who will fight The Others, but a literal prince who was promised to be sacrifice to them. Perhaps the Others can only be appeased when a child of worthy blood is willingly given to them, like how Theon was given to the Starks to prevent another rebellion. We know the White Walkers need human infants to procreate so maybe they need a prince to become the next Night King. unless that was never mentioned in the books, then im soooooo wrong

There are so many ways the prophecy could be interpreted (partially because it's easier for the writer to make alterations to the story if need be), but my intention was to focus on the main points and attempt to interpret it in the most feasible and down-to-earth way, as I don't think it'll get too abstract (from the evidence we have about other prophecies). We have to remember that the world of Game of Thrones, despite being infused with fantasy, is very realistic, and that's reflected in both the characters and the way the world is built.

@@FictionPsychology ok, so then all we only know for sure is that WW want babies for something and they’re building an army of the dead. Everything else from the tv show is just fanfic 😋

@@hydraman246 Actually, I was wrong (I completely forgot about this): There is a tale about the thirteenth commander of the Watch, the tale of Night's King, who was supposedly a Stark. His brother, the Stark of Winterfell, formed an alliance with Joramun, the then leader of the wildlings to cast him down (because he was sacrificing people to the Others). I don't know how they portrayed him in the show, though. So a theory about Night's King could be a video on its own, as it opens the door to many other possibilities.

17:40 ooooh the horn! Perhaps Dragonbinder? Or maybe the Horn of Winter? Hmmm interesting 🤔 It's also interesting the fact that there's two horns in the story, each one holding a power connected to either fire or ice. One calls upon and gives you control over a dragon, the other supposedly destroys the Wall, which is made of ice. Maybe the junction of their power could be one of the keys to destroy the darkness, or the said major evil.

Grrm often uses songs as a metaphor for battle. He’s often written about the song that sings from the clashing of swords. Is it possible that this is a prophecy for the end battle? I also don’t think that prophecy has any value in asoiaf beyond distracting the characters from the ultimate problem and is meant to lead them to their (book characters) death. The bear and the maiden fair leads to a lot of death.

I can’t get behind how incredibly mundane and boring it would be in the books to just turn Jon snow into a super secret hero god king that can do no wrong. I genuinely hold out hope that he just stays dead in some ways to keep this story from happening because it’s shit tier writing.
