Another nice Video for beginners like me !!!😅.Thanks Cam. I have the bigger size Mini reef 160. Happy with it. Did some mods on sump to fit refugium. I have removed my filter socks as I am applying Triton method but I’ve heard Seatorch filter holder would be a nice upgrade . It is called “FILTER SOCK HOLDER LJ-200” or LJ-100.
Cam I got a Aqua mini reef 160, still use the G216 skimmer, just love it. so simple to set and does a cracking job. Put a reef matt 500n in, yes tight fit and a challenge to change the roll over, but it's very convenient, no washing socks and the water is so clear. i did change the light out to a pop bloom 2ft and its amazing as well and good for the 300, also put is a gyre wave maker. they are brilliant product for the price
Nice vid! The 120 was my first tank. Funny you mention the filter roller, the Bubble Magnus S Filter roller does fit. Couple of adjustments and mod to the drain but you can squeeze it in. I kept the skimmer and the return pump and upgraded the lights. The Factory return pump I used for a algae reactor and UV steriliser and upgraded the main return pump. It’s quite a good package and learnt so much from this smaller system. Good job Cam
Miss my mini reef 120, I done so many upgrades on the sump area it lasted me years and was packed of corals, The best upgrade i done on it was installing a clarisea!
A ClariSea on a minireef sounds like a great idea. It would be a much better option for Anias Minireef than the bulky sock holder she currently has. Cam
Great tank but the biggest design flaw of the tank is the noise the main drain makes, they should have included a gate valve or something to silence the drain pipe
I have this tank but am yet to set up. One of the biggest complaints I see on forums is the excessive noise of the overflow. Have seen several people mod their overflow to a Herbie by using the original return as the main siphon overflow and the larger drain as the emergency then running a new return up and over the back.
It depends on the ambient temperature, so really it entirely depends on how you run your aircon. Some people run the aircon low and constant and get away without a chiller, but most people in this type of climate need chillers. Cam
Great tank. I have this tank and have upgraded the lights to a hydra 32 and it’s prefect for the tank. Also had upgraded to a dc return and a bubble magus g5 skimmer. Will you be running this tank at all? Be great to see the progress on it!
This particular tank is floor stock at our Salisbury store. We do have a mini reef 120 that we’ve filmed, it’s called Ania’s Super Simple Softie Setup. Cam
These companies need to realise that black and white cabinets do not fit in with everyones decour, be nice to see a bit of variety in cabinet colours,,
Hey bro hope you are doing great. Just wanted to know about the spectrum. How much whites do you people add in the spectrum and also please make a video on maxpect mjL165
Good vidéo, ne carefull where you open accesoiry on aquarium… i think is better just on the side… Cam And can you see as you saw your belly it is a small round, it will be necessary to work a little😂🎉 Kiss to Ania
Tank itself is great, used one of these for around 5 years. One of the worst skimmers of all time. Also quite noisy, will require extending the return pipe under the water to reduce noise.
