I’m old and remember how hard these albums were to get in the states. Pre-internet, we had to rely on zenes and word of mouth. Usually could get bootleg cassettes at clubs… and then pay $100 for imports at specialty record shops.

Liz Fraser is Scottish. I was born in the Scottish town Fraserburgh and have a son called Fraser. One of the best songs ever.

LIZ FRAZER ROCKS.. this mortal coil was just a precursor to Cocteau Twins who hav never had the recognition they deserve.. go listen to sum o their stuff WOW 👍👍👌👌❤️❤️

Tim Buckley performed his song on the last episode of the Monkees. Cocteau Twins version was on the UK charts for a year. Elizabeth Fraser dated Tim's son and heard he was missing presumed dead from drowning as she was recording vocals for Massive Attacks hit Teardrop. Song To The Siren is about a woman beckoning sailors to drown at sea. Very creepy. David Lynch requested this song for Blue Velvet but Cocteau Twins read the script about a violent S&M mystery and said NO. Then loved the film. Lynch got to use it in his worst film. Lost Highway.

This is by far the best Version of this I've heard. The LP is fantastic. "Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust" is the A Side of the 12" and well worth a listen as well.
