Deep in the Dark 

Hello my dear friends, my name is Irina. I live in Chita in Zabaikalskiy region of Russia. My English teacher is a friend of Michael Shipley . He moved to Russia from America many years ago. In 1997 Michael brought a cassete with a movie "Charlotte's Web" from USA. My teacher started to use this movie on her lessons in school with her students. This way young citizens of Zabaikalye, that were studying English met and loved the characters of this story. The movie and songs are really great, and our kids like them as much as yours do. :)

Haunting, such beautiful music, it's a shame that no one is making such songs like this anymore.

This means so much more to me now that Charlotte really is gone...

as a child I thought this scene was supposed to be scary. but now as an adult, I find it to be so beautiful! I'm grateful to have watched movies like this growing up. I can appreciate them even more now

I watched this movie the other day for the first time again in years I could not hold back the tears. This movie will always be my favorite movie for many years. It was just like yesterday it brought back many many memories the songs in this movie have so much meaning.

After hearing Debbie Reynolds passed away the day after Carrie Fisher's death......some of the songs from Charlotte's Web began to click. It's sad to see and hear those who were part of our childhood passing on. A lot of us will always remember those moments of a time when things were a whole lot simpler and better despite whatever problems we had going on at those moments.

I love Charlotte’s voice, the harpsichord, and these four lyrics “Fragile & magical shadows silently start to appear,” “Silvery miracle, Charlotte’s web,” “The infinite wonder of Charlotte’s web,” “Miracles somehow appear.” I love when Charlotte’s web appears, shining in the early morning sunlight.

This song has brought back so many memories of the animated Charlotte's Web movie.I watched it as a child on a VHS tape and in school. It was one of my favorite movies and I just adored the songs that Charlotte sung. They were so heartwarming.But this song was one of my favorites because the lyrics were like that of poetry. I'm sad that Charlotte didn't just die in the movie,she died in real life as her real self,Debbie Reynolds.Debbie's part in the movie is her web,and a message came with it:Value not only your life,value the life of others as well. Because doing so can make all kinds of miracles happen,even if your life wastes away doing so. You will die knowing that you shared so much love with someone as they have done with you. The love you shared while on your journey through life and the mark your love will leave is what made the journey worth it. Knowing that your love saved a life.And as Wilbur had said to your daughter while you had died as Charlotte, let us all say to Debbie in our minds, "Her memory will be treasured forever". Honestly, I think this book/movie (my parents made me read it before they let me watch it) is the reason I like spiders so much. Only a few of them are harmful, and the rest do such a good service by eating pest insects, and because I lived near the country, I got to see spiders weaving their webs all the time, and it's honestly quite beautiful, and amazing that something with as limited brain capacity as a spider is born knowing how to create such an intricate structure as a web. They really are amazing creatures.

They dont make music like this anymore ....quite literally!

The beginning of the harp melody reminds me so much of the beginning tune of the main titles of Rosemary's Baby. This movie does bring back so many childhood nostalgic memories growing up. Rest in peace Mrs. Reynolds; you will always be remembered in my eyes as the actress who gave life to one of the most unsung heroes in children's literature as the voice of Charlotte. I loved this movie, and I loved this soundtrack from beginning to end.

Hats off to the Sherman Brothers who wrote the music and lyrics to this film (and many other classic Disney and musical films). As a kid I didn't appreciate the quality of the lyrics as much as I do today.

Charlotte by design is a creature of contradiction, and a lesson to people that someones outward appearance, even thier inward design are not grounds to pass a judgement. Charlotte is a widow spider. She has a venemous bite and kills other living beings to survive. Yet for that shes charming, charismatic, sweet, and has a heart of gold. She worked herself to death, relinquishing her much needed rest, all night long, over and over again to save her friend. She didnt eat, because she knew Wilbur would protest. She sacrificed her health and ultimately her life to save Wilburs. Its a rather unfortunate irony that Wilbur took so much of her for granted. Charlotte by design is the friend we all wish we had but do not deserve, lighting up the night for us and being a receptacle for our woes and worries. Wilbur is an excellent representation of ourselves, living with the constant expectation that others will do and do and do for us but we will never need to give back. To someone like Charlotte, it is enough that her friend lived and found happiness.

Deep in the Dark was one of my favorite songs in this movie as well as Chin Up and there must be something more. Deep in the Dark was a beautiful song and taught you a very valuable life lesson at some point near the end

I still cry every time I watch it . I still love this movie. Charlottes death still gets me

in those days, children were taught about death at very young ages. All Dogs Go To Heaven and Land Before Time just to named a couple. These days, people worry about children being too young and being traumatized. most children back then turned out just fine. There's debate on rather or not we could say the same for this generation of children if they were watching films like this. This film brings back a lot of memories. This song is still as magical as it was back then. Ever sense a friend of mine pointed it out, I can't stop thinking about the question. should children of today watch children films of yesterday?
