Good to know. It was funny, we found such great snow but so many locals told us that it just rains all the time and to go to Crystal 🤷‍♂

Yeah, Baker sucks. Nobody go there. Try Stevens Pass or Crystal, instead.

Lol. We will all boycott baker because you're not intelligent enough to go when it isn't raining. It gets the most snow in the pnw.

@@JukkaliMx At double the price no way, I’m riding Baker. I’d rather give my money to a family owned business, and Bellingham is more fun to party in then Monroe

Been riding riding Baker for 39 years now (1985), nothing will ever beat the early days of Baker. I found a couple old pics the other day from 85-86, one of the pics was my first time on a chair and the funny thing is it was a bluebird Saturday and there’s literally 8 people in the lift line. The second pic I found was of us on top of Hemisphere getting ready to drop in to the Canyon for our last run (it was getting dark out). In those early days we had the powder to ourselves, the skis were too narrow and just sank and since our boards didn’t have edges (yet) we loved the powder. I have so many fawn days of out on the Arm, some of the days we spent all day out there hiking huge wind lips (the perfect transitions), or making numerous laps and that was before chair 8 was put in, so the hike started at the top of 4/5, not chair 8 like today. If you can do it definitely camp out, I’ve seen guys just pitch a tent in the parking lot. Sad to say those days are gone, it’s far too busy and sadly no chance of expanding, I spend most of my days at Stevens now due to the shorter drive and very reasonable midweek pass, but the memories I have of rippin powder with the homies EVERY Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be with me forever. I asked to have my ashes spread up there, it is that important to me even at 58 and still rippin fresh powder

Love to hear about the early days, and man do we with we could have experienced those ourselves! Still managing to find some pretty awesome days up there mid week where you feel like you have the whole place to yourself.

@@snowledge I moved here in 06. Bought a pass that season and did prolly 30 plus days🤘🏽 Then we had children and my wife not so into mountain sports so it's been back burner since then. My 15 year old finally asked to learn this season and by God.. it's like riding a bike🤣 I'm back in the saddle and teaching him. It's fantastic

Best part of Baker is that you can do both! Couple days in Northern WA, then up to BC!

powder days even weekdays it can get packed and huge lineups on chairs 5 and 6, getting on chair 7 to start your day can be another huge line, with many hiking to chair 5 now with the higher ticket prices of 91 bucks for a day pass people are really going to save up for the powder days so it will be more packed, the mountain on a POW day is pretty much skied out in a few hours, On the good side week day groomers on nonpowder days is very uncrowded and you feel like you own the place. Also when the temps drop in the low teens with no new snow it is very uncrowded, I don't ski weekends or holidays, Seniors with a pass, Baker is nice it's all we have and thankful

As a kid we would camp in the heated bathrooms at excelsior camp they were open 24/7 and clean. MBHC 1987-98.

Ah nice, that sounds like a proper way to do it! Better than a car/camper with no heat for sure...

As a Mt. Baker Local, I can assure you that the culture around the mountain is one of the coolest communities ever. The surrounding small towns feel so isolated, and the skiing is second to NONE. By far the best snow anywhere on EARTH. If you are deciding whether or not to go, this is your sign to book the trip.
