You can't just assume someone's race. They might identify as white. Or something only they can define. And everyone bowing to each other's fantasies builds a perfect society, because feelings.
Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan was the biggest influence on Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. Deep Purple influenced many great bands including Metallica. Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore is 1 of the most influential guitarists in rock and metal. He also formed Rainbow with legendary Ronnie James Dio on vocals.
Deep Purple a primeira banda de heavy metal que ouvi guando tinha uns 13 anos. E assim fui iniciado no mundo do Rock. Forever Deep Purple!
The Great Deep Purple Mark ll. Back when talent was running everywhere in Rock. Deep Purple's In Rock Album is possibly the most influential album in what was to come. Deep Purple had the best combined talent ever to play on stage.
Deep Purple's career spanned many years and I have been lucky enough to see them live on numerous occasions. They have never disappointed me and are rated as one of the greatest rock bands ever to grace a stage. They were so versatile and incredibly talented musicians. Truly one of the very best rock bands ever, although somewhat in Led Zeppelin's shadow for much of their career, but they still held their own with their distinctive style, especially Ian Gillan on vocals and Ritchie Blackmore on lead guitar. We must never forget Jon Lord, (R.I.P.) on keyboards, classically trained and absolutely phenomenal.
Deep Purple (Mk II).......Singer is Ian Gillan; interestingly enough, he did the original recording of Gethsemane for Jesus Christ Superstar musical. He is considered one of the greatest vocalists in the history of rock. There is a double live album Made in Japan, recorded in the early 1970s, listen to it. They were considered by many (especially musicians) to be the best live band of the 1970s. For this line up The two best studio albums are Deep Purple in Rock and then Machine Head....This song is actually about the fear of Nuclear War recorded during Cold War between USA and USSR
I have to agree with everything you said and I learned a few facts too. Thanks. BTW I'm 61 and have always been a Purple fan but when I was younger I only listen to the most popular songs but as I got older I found songs like this blew away the small group of songs I litened to most. This song is insanely incredible. Thanks again bro. Take care
The audience was asked to be still and quiet. One of the most powerful performances ever. Lead singer Ian Gillan sang the part of Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar". "Highway Star' next!
Ian was asked to play Jesus in the movie and turned it down. Ted Neeley played Jesus whose voice is just as incredible. Ted is still doing Jesus Christ Superstar all over the world and he can still wail in his 70s.
Deep Purple was one of the best rock bands of the 70’s bar none. I used to work backstage at the Ritz theater in NY and saw them tear the roof off the place. Highway Star is a must listen.
I went to concert with 2000 people when he had his own band and the power went out, it ddn;t matter he just sung no amps it was unbelievable best concert i have ever been too, his voice is matchless, unbelievable.
If you haven't hit Creedence Clearwater Revival you really should. Born on the Bayou, Fortunate Son, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Green River, Proud Mary, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, I Put A Spell On You, Bad Moon Rising .... and a number others .... all bangers.
Suggestion for ya'll to hear Jeff Beck play guitar. The song is "People Get Ready" with Rod Stewart singing. Beck is considered one of the top 10 best guitar players in the world, played last in band with Johnny Depp, and passed away in January of this year (2023). I would call the performance a duet, only Stewart sings his part but Beck's guitar sings the other part. I'm positive y'all would enjoy it. (If you've reacted to it already I didn't find the video.)
Formed in 1968. At one time in the Guinness Book of Records as the Worlds Loudest Band. Ritchie Blackmore, Lead Guitar, Jon Lord Keyboardist and Ian Paice are amongst the worlds best RIP Jon Lord. Try the track Burn from the album of the same name.
oh man this takes me back to cruising the backroads of twenty nine palms, Joshua tree and yucca valley in the 1964 lincoln continental in the early 70's blasting deep purple in the eight track AAAHHHHHH!
Congratulations! You have just discovered the greatest band of all times. Best of all, they are still active touring and making new fabulous music. A love for a lifetime 😍
Jon Lord was and always will be the greatest rock organist to ever grace a stage. I don't think anyone comes close. Listen to SMOKE ON THE WATER, probably their best known song of all time. I'm partial to PERFECT STRANGERS because it wad when they reunited in the 80s and i got to go sere them live, one of my best memories
I too was glad that they reunited for their Perfect Strangers album as it allowed me to see them play my favourite song, Lazy. The concert was the day after my 19th birthday. So yes, a very special memory for me also.
It is so funny seeing this generation reacting to the music I grew up listening to as a young person. I'm so happy for this music to be revived and appreciated all over again.
Deep Purple are one of the 3 unholy trinity of hard rock metal they started the genre with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin first was deep purple they are also the only band still playing today releasing new music.
I’m 64 and have never heard this before. My older brothers were into prog rock, so they must have played it. But I was into soul and Motown, Disco, Glam/Pop rock. It’s pretty cool though to discover music later on in life
Im 66, I’ve always loved soul. But more mussel shoals than Motown. But I love rock as well. Was a Big purple fan. A few of their albums sitting alongside my Otis Redding.
Five amazing musicians just doing their thing. Jon Lord-Organ, Richie Blackmore-Guitar, Ian Gillan-Vocals, Roger Glover-Bass and Ian Paice-Drums, THE Mark II version of Deep Purple, and in most peoples opinion the best version. Seen these very guys three times and it was always a treat and an exhibition of talent not to be missed. The audience in this video is either stunned or stupid. One of England's greatest exports.
The audience is not stunned and not stupid, but followed the instructions - this version is the best, not because it is sung and played better than anyone, but because it is recorded almost perfectly, and this is a great merit of the audience, who kept silence.
One of the best songs ever written and performed. DP had genius talent throughout the line up-and my personal favorite, Ian Gillan, in the top few best rock singers of all time.
Oh yes! That sound is excellent with the organ, all those bands back in the day that had organs from like the 60’s but then you have the way Deep Purple does organ work…and omg, it’s something super-special. Shout out to the Animals too! Love them! ❤️ Yup! Deep Purple is one if the best bands! 👌✨💯
Favorite song by Purple. Had the pleasure of seeing them live and they played this song. Which was great because by during that tour they only did this song every other night. It was hard on Ian's vocals.
if you cant feel this. youre dead inside. FACTS fun fact about the band. it was formed with the idea that the music normally written for lead guitar would go to the keyboard instead.
Excellent reaction to Deep Purple. I've seen them in concert not too long ago and they are still going strong. Another excellent group with intense instruments is Grand Funk Railroad - Inside Looking Out. So many good tunes out there. Keep up the good work!
My Father taught me quite a few Deep Purple songs when I was learning my instruments. I know why he didn't teach me this one... I'd go insane on the keyboard alone.
Just to give this song some context, the Vietnam War was still going on. Deep Purple's song Smoke On The Water is their most played but My Woman From Tokyo is also a good one to listen to.
I grew up listening to Deep Purple and had their black light posters on my walls and went to several of their concerts back in the 70s. Me and my friends would sit around in our basements or bedrooms, smoking weed and jamming to Deep Purple. we were the real "That 70s sho.... hahaha They were incredible to see live. Next time try their hit "Smoke on the water"... that'll really blow your mind. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F7ZF2xaNhyw.html
Well, the audience---like almost all tv audiences in the day---were told to stay still during the taping. You can see the same "reaction" in many of these old videos. You would be removed from the taping if you actually showed some dancing/emotion during the performance. Just the way it was back then.
Their most FAMOUS song is Smoke on the Water (you have all def heard the main guitar riff) Their best solo is on a song on Rock Band or Guitar Hero called Highway Star. It shreds!
I have listened to Deep Purple for many years and saw them once live over 35 years ago. However, I just came across this song about 6 months ago for the first time and I love it!!!!
Dude the In Rock Album is possibly the most influential album in Rock History. It has elements of Speed Metal, Proto Trash and really solidified the Hard Rock Genra.
When it comes to comparing groups like deep purple led Zeppelin Rush, they are all so talented you can't compare it just comes down to personal taste. Like saying who's more talented Picasso or Rembrandt.
I just realized you haven’t heard The Doors yet. Now there’s a lot to choose from Love Me Two Times, Break On Through, Roadhouses Blues, The End… could go on forever with this list. The Doors definitely deserve some play time. Jim Morrison has an iconic voice ❤❤❤
Barbara Smelser I loved the 70s music as well and I was a teenager back then, but don't like a lot of the 80s songs, or the fashion from that era, including perms, which ruined my long hair! 😊
Check out minute 9:11 Drummer Ian Anderson drops his stick and manages to recover like a boss! I have always found this super awesome and not a lot of people catches it lol
Well spot. Probably a mistype, but the drummer's name is Ian Paice (the only one playing in all editions of Purple and still touring). Ian Anderson is the singer/flutist from Jethro Tull
All Five of Them are masters of their Weapons. 1.)Ian Gillan -vocals 2.)John Glover- Bass Guitar 3.) Ritchie Blackmore -Electric Guitar. 4.)Jon Lord-Organ 5.)Ian Paice - Drums. Meet Deep Purple.
So pleased you guys have discovered Deep Purple phenomenal musicians & vocals, I also recommend Highway star, smoke on the water, strange kind of woman, Speed King, darn it they are all good songs Deep Purple are awesome.
I really never expected you guys to do something like this let alone enjoy something like this the way you did Thank you so much You really blow me away with all the things you do I am enjoy this channel so much Thanks again for all you do
I'm digging you all listening to the good old stuff. This is live music, warts and all. As it should be. Ian Gillian was classically trained. The keyboardist Jon Lord composed a full symphony to be played with a famous British orchestra. In 1969. I was two years old. I remember hearing this on the radio. He is by far the best rock singer ever. No one comes close. He was also the original Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. That voice is soaring, and he conveys that hopelessness at the senseless violence we see every day. He also don't miss a note, either. Sick range. Perfect control. You name it.
My second time commenting after your Alice in Chain's "Rooster" reaction. This is probably my favourite tracks by Deep Purple. The version from their Live in Japan album is probably the best, but this live performance is up there. Excellent and classic rock song. Brings up memories of my father playing his records when I was a kid.
