@@creamwobbly ofcourse tommy bolin is unreplaceble, but neither is blackmore, i said it before and i'll said it again, put ANY guitarist in the same genre again him at the same age and he'll slaughter all of them, not to forget that blackmore was more genius than he even knew himself, by killing many other genres without even intending to... and when he found out that there was the last stage of mastery; playing music only, without distortion, lightshows and thousands of people in the audience, he mastered that as well... i don't see any guitarist doing all of it that easily, i'm not saying nobody would do it better, but they don't, so until the day of truth, he's neither replaceble
Deep Purple almost never sounded better, the new man Simon has brought 174 shiploads of fresh and new life to the band, He and Mr Blackmore were are the 2 greatest guitar players in this band, Totally brilliant
I am a DP fan for almost 50(fifty!) years but when I heard this guy playing the guitar I was mesmerized. GREAT PERFORMER! and fresh blood for the group, just on time. GOOD LUCK SIMON!
50 years!? Brow you really know what you are talking about. I really appreciate your comment as there are plenty of 'fake purist' who claims Blackmore is unreplaceable and that Simon is just an enthusiastic guitar player in a tribute band 😪
Take a look at his solo stuff before this gig with DP. He’s like a blend of Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher. Been a huge fan for a few years. His live album is phenomenal.
This is the first time I've seen Simon McBride. I miss Steve Morse, but Simon is a great guitarist and perfect fit for DP!! I look forward to their next album. Thanks for posting.
I've seen Deep Purple with Morse here in Rio like 10 years ago.. It was good an all.. but Simon McBride is FIRE!!!!! Holy fuck.. If he would be at that time playing I would be in total ecstasy.. I'm a guitarrist for 15 years and know what I'm talking about. He's got the SPIRIT of rock.. even while doing the tapping solo it has so much feeling.. nothing anything automatic and souless..
You're a guitarist for 15 years. LOL Definitely makes you an expert. I'm a guitarist from back in the mid 1960's. I remember when Blackmore first did this solo. I was around before Deep Purple even existed.
@bryansimmons4550 I don't know what mr "playing for 15 years watched but there was no tapping in the solo...but, he's an expert playing for 15 years! Lmfao. I didn't see anything special about his playing that stood out to be honest. I think he needs to go watch Chickenfoot play Highway star...Satriani plays the organ solo on guitar as well...but I'm no expert 😂😂😂
Simply fantastic Ian Gillan rocking so well and the band. Simon smashingly rocked the rhythm n solo in his style .. complete justice to this rock staple .so highway star and so Deep Purple 💜
Simon is a champ! I didn't know him but what I've seen is just awesome!!! He's now in the top of my list with a few others, and God knows my list is long!! I don't even know where I am in it 😅
DP - the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best of the best 👏👏👏👏👏🎤🎻🎺🎹🎸🎷🎧🎵🎶♩🎙🎚🎛🎼📻📻📻📻📻📻
Can you believe there are some 'Purists' which claims he is not a good fit for deep purple? In addition they also claim this is just a tribute band jajaj
Simon is amazing .. I discovered him a couple of years during the covid19 with his excellent solo stuff. With Simon personally I feel closer to the Blackmore essence and that's what I like. Morse was also FANTASTIC .. hoping the best for him 🙏
@Le sparta their still pretty popular in Europe and Asia. If you remember even the mighty zeppelin was struggling to sell out stadiums in the late 70s.
OMG! DEEP PURPLE HAVE BEEN RE-BORN! Best guitarist since Blackmore! What a player this guy is! Blues licks mixed with modern playing! Some of the licks i've never even heard before! ANYWHERE! and he's fun to watch too.. AWESOME!
Topppp!!! Been a fan from early 70 ties and still here ....Goog Job from DP and ofcourse topper Ian Paice on drums......Thank you for playing this dudes ....Love You DP!!!!!
@@georgepolanco Yes. The new guitarplayer plays a more Richie Blackmore style. More blues/rock based. With a more heavy rythm - not so many screaming high notes. That's fine
As close to the Mark 2 line up as we’re ever gonna get. Simon McBride has re-ignited the spirit of the band from the 70’s. A live album with this crew would be a treat. Reckon they could carry on for a good few years yet hopefully.
First there was Gary Moore, then Vivian Campbell, and now another N.Ireland guitarist Simon McBride absolutely blowing the cobwebs off all those classic Purple songs. I love Gary Moore, but heck, Simon might even be the best of the lot!!
Absolutely! It's amazing how Simon McBride is breathing new life into those classic Purple songs. Each guitarist brings their unique magic, and Simon is definitely making his mark. Love for Gary Moore is timeless, but Simon is carving his own impressive path! 🎸🎶
I am glad, that I do not need to campaire those giant guitar virtuoses. I love them all three, and getting older now, inspired by the tribute concert for Jon, I learned to love lights and shadows of Hughes, Coverdale & Co as well :) We all only cook with water 😉
first important thing is ,he is enjoying playing Ritchie solos, second he is Irish and flesh and blood different,I hope he help the band to compose nice songs, since Ritchie left, they have really no new material to show, and earn from Ritchie.and at the end rock always have debt to Ritchie,he is masterclass of rock and endless.long live rock'nroll
Deep Purple have been fortunate - through knowing what makes a guitarist for such a fantastic band. Look at the roll of honour...Blackmore, Bolin, Morse and McBride. Just amazing guitarists...ALL OF THEM!
Absolutely, Deep Purple has been incredibly lucky to have had such a lineup of talented guitarists throughout their history. Blackmore, Bolin, Morse, and McBride have all brought their unique styles to the band, making it truly amazing! 🎸🎶
Simon McBride's ability to infuse new life into familiar elements is truly remarkable. It's impressive how he reimagines things in such unexpected and exceptional ways.
@@georgepolanco Yes! There are so many good-great-awesome guitar players who could have handled the parts perfectly well, but not brought that "extra" vibrance and freshness that Simon does. Also I love his tasteful punctuations between phrases - I'm not sure what the guitar term is, but those sparing, well-placed embellishments that in lesser hands would just be more show-offy noise. He really knows how to speak through the guitar.
@@Arfshesaid457 I completely agree! Simon's guitar playing adds a unique vibrance and freshness to the music that sets him apart. His tasteful embellishments and well-placed punctuations between phrases showcase his skill in conveying emotion through the guitar. It's that ability to speak through the instrument that makes him stand out among great guitar players.
Stevie Morse tem muito estilo e um otimo guitarrista, mas onde estava o Simon guitarrista com presensa de palco absurda parece estar integrado a mais de dez anos welcome in rock
Seems that Mr. McBride is the best thing that has happened to this - anyway still outstanding - band. Even more "Blackmore" feeling and tone than Mr. Morse created. Most probably the only ones apart from the Rolling Stones, who can still keep up their level. More than 50 years and they still sound great!
