I'm 65 and I am a great grandfather and I approve of this ❤😂 I stood inline overnight for tickets in Albuquerque in 85 Reunion tour. Even in my middle years ❤❤❤❤
@@Steve4206 Jon lord's is dead Ian Gillian is touring. He hates Ritchie Blackmore. IE; rock and roll Hall of Fame induction. Blackmore was told not to come.
Ritchie is and always will be a guitar God and legend. He is up there with Jimmy Page Eric Clapton David Gilmour and Tony Iommi and all the greats of the 70's..and even in the 80's with Rainbow..he may have lost a step at age 71 but i can never forget his time with Deep Purple..one of my favorite bands of all time God Bless Ritchie..he is Greatness! One of the most underrated guitarists of all time! an enigma and a genius!
Hé was great, unique brilliant but..... There are better only in other music genres that are not as popular as heavy metal of hard rock. Hé said it himself also 😂😂
"Respect," other than Blackmore's atrocious playing. I don't know if he's drunk, or jaded, but regardless his playing is sloppy and uninspired. He misses notes throughout the song. It's just plain bad playing.
Our beloved old super bands are fantastic. However, it is also a fact that in recent years, measured by the TOP 50 hit lists of the largest music markets in the world, no human musicians were involved in more than 80% of the songs / hit recordings. And the computer-generated sound is still on the rise. So let's all support young musicians who make handmade music. Only if we buy their records, DVDs and merch do we enable the young bands and musicians to turn their passion into a profession and also to be able to make a living from it. The ROCK N ROLL is crying out for help folks...🤘🎸🎹🎷🎤🎺🥁🤘.
I’ve only been a fan for 40 years As a 12 year old , my Dad came to pick me up It was a gorgeous early Spring/Summer day He had a powder blue 450SL with the roof down I remember him saying, I’ve got some music playing on the tape deck can we listen as we drive? I hope you’ll like it The track was this one and the album Machine Head Blew me away Still does Always will Time respects no one Sooner or later memories are all we’ll have But oh my, what memories
Maybe that horrible music he's been playing the last 20yrs with his wife tired him out, because when I tried to listen to it, I know it drained the life out of me.
I was there, travelled all the way from Australia. Was a great show with Manfred Mann & Thin Lizzy supporting! But Rainbow were really good, well worth the trip. Thankyou Ritchie for dusting off the strat for us one more time - brilliant.
Love Richie Blackmore's guitar playing....Deep purple..great 🎶 music...Highway Star.. awesome...every band member perfection....thanks for sharing....I'm 68 now...good memories...good for the soul...their music is timeless..oh also awesome Hammond B3 player..
@@Mr75044 I'm a big fan of Purple and dig Rainbow too. Blackmore as a musician is brilliant, that's not the issue. This isn't new. RJD said he was an asshole and treated people around (including fans, band mates, his peers in other bands etc.) like shit and swore he would never be that way. I don't care who you are, if you have reputation as a major asshole for 50 years, it's going to cost you clout and respect with everyone in the business.
@@Mr75044 No problem. Another reason IMO is when DP peaked in 1972 with Machine Head, a year later Ian quit so they couldn't build on their momentum to stay with Zeppelin & Sabbath. Sure Coverdale is an incredible singer but it wasn't the same.
I remember Richie saying in Kerrang back in the 80’s, that he was essentially a shy person and he needed at least a bottle of scotch before stepping on stage. Looks like he had three in this clip. Still my geetar hero and always will be.
Ritchie and the band were great, as usual, but that singer really nailed it. Having a good, strong singer who can pull it off live always helps a band to play at their best. This performance was a good example of that!
Ritchie was never given the credit he deserved as a guitarist, songwriter or performer. He is amazingly talented but doesn't have the 'Star' ego-tripping confidence to really put himself 'out there'! I have met the guy, and he is actually very mild and humble, but very intense when it comes to his music.
In every thread there is always somebody who says a super duper Star has not been given enough credit. And I don't know how old you are but Richie never had a problem with confidence or ego.
Under apprecited wtf?. Im in australia ad every person every knows this guy, they had their first hit here with black night way back in 1969, unbelievable guitarist and highly apprecited
@@djizzah Black Knight came out in 1970 first hit record with deep purple was Hush 1968 Ritchie Blackmore played on lots of other hit records he was a highly sought-after session musician
I love it! I grew up with Deep Purple and Rainbow music! Finally we got DP inducted in Rock N Roll hall of fame! For us forever fans that mean lot! Now we fans will work to induct Rainbow in to it also! Since that my beloved Cleveland Cavs won championship tomorrow morning at 11am will be a huge parade and will be there, damn! I got get up early to go there! Greetings from Cleveland OH.
Blackmore has always been one of my top 5 favorite guitarists. With Jimi, SRV, and EVH. Saw Rainbow (with Dio) in 77 or 78, with Starz and Blue Oyster Cult, just to see Ritchie. Still sad I never got to see him with Deep Purple.
And the fifth guitar hero should be Michael Schenker! I got to see Ritchie in 1982 with Rainbow (Straight between the eyes tour) and with the reformed Deep Purple in 1987 (House of blue light). There was always this dark and moody vibe on the right hand side of the stage, like this is forbidden territory for anyone except Ritchie, which was epic and perfect for who he was to us. Fun to see that Romero gets to stand close to Ritchie without having his head bitten off. That's new!
@@ericodijk - for me...After the ones I named up there....Gibbons, Clapton and Page get spots 5,6, and 7...those 7 should be "set". After that, the arguments commence. 😄
So happy to see one of the originators, Mr. Ritchie Blackmore still rocking out! In my opinion the solo to Highway Star is one of those iconic solos that shouldn’t be tampered with, and I wish Ritchie played the solo the same way it is on the original recording , but it still sounds great! Rock on 🤘🏻
Ronnie James Dio is a better vocalist than Ian. Ian never sang properly and ended up losing his voice occasionally. Ian screamed as much as he sang. Screaming is not singing. I could name many great lead vocalists that were better than Ian in their prime: Freddie Mercury, Robert plant, Sting, daltery, Steve Tyler,
I saw Ronnie´s band when he was just a kid, I must say, he was unbelievable, he had a band named Barracuda in Chile, he always sang this way, I am very proud of what he became
Dirty fingers Blackmore looks like one of the 3 musketeers and plays like a greedy pirate - no care for the audience or his band members - only here on earth for himself!! Under his wizard hat is all the money he stole from former band members!!! He's a LEGEND !!!
