I was there... saw Purple 7 times in 1993: Stuttgart, Paris, Zurich, Lausanne, Nancy, Brussels and Stockholm. Had a ticket for Barcelona that was unfortunately cancelled due to Roger being ill..., but I was on the plane with Jon Lord, from Geneva to Barcelona, sipping white wine and talking about the band.... great memories...
Yes. They managed to hold some of the old magic on this tour. Jon gave a public talk in a local university music department one afternoon. ( he tutored students performing his Concerto) I couldn’t get time off work to go. Just wanted to say how much his/purple’s music means to me. Glad you have that great memory/experience.
Gillan and Lord on top, Blackmore is unique and original, etc. Amazing good performance. Adore Deep Purple! Awesome 💯✖️💯💥 Hard Rock 💪💛🤘 Золотой состав группы 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Fantastischer Konzertmitschnitt!
Read, in the an early 70’s interview with Roger ... “Even on a bad night we’re better than most bands” ....This is proof that on a good night no band is better live than Deep Purple. What a great audience too. Just bought tickets to see them in the U.K. in 2020 ⚡️🚀⚡️
This is the peak of their musical abilities. 1993 had some amazing gigs like this one, Oslo, Stuttgart, Paris, London 2nd night. It wasn't about the speed like in the 70s.
Not about speed like Lazy?.... 1:25:00 Egomaniac on speed? :) In 1994. Not so fastt? (and much better setlist?) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6VtukkIKsII.html
How Blackmore does to be so talented ?? the intro of smoke on the water: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I crack...... Paice, Lord, Blackmore and Co,,,, nice, very very nice for my ears
1993. The best year of MKII, after 70's of course. On stage, the band was really amazing. Far better than what they made during the 84-85 and 87 tours. Blackmore plays melodic and inspired solos. Gillan finds a good part of his voice. And of course, it is when they are, finally, at the top, that Blackmore decides to leave.
Riccardo Colman It has been a very long time, so it's hard to remember much. I actually saw them twice at Forest National in 1973. Mk 2 in March, and then Mk 3 in December.
They were on fire instrumentally on this tour. Blackmore was finally playing well again. Gillan was a bit more consistent, probably. The Birmingham show lacking, but shows like this and Stuttgart show how good they were.
You wrote: "Blackmore was finally playing well again" You are completely true. During the 84-85 and 87 tours, his playing was very messy, nervous, with almost no melody. A disaster. He started to improve during the 91 tour, with Joe Lynn Turner. There he is again fantastic. And unfortunately, that's where he decides to leave. Enigmatic Blackmore!
We never saw this lineup again after Ritchie's departure 😥 The mark 2 was the Best ever of all lineup ( Morse is a great guitar player , amazing ) but without Ritchie is like :" something lack here 🤔
The whole band sound better here, perhaps this is after Ritchie handed in his notice? He's playing like a man who has had a load lifted off his shoulders.
Ha! If only! I don’t know if it’s true but I heard that he tore up his Japanese visa to communicate that he was serious that he wasn’t going there with the band ....despite the tour being sold out. Of course Joe Satriani stepped in and did a great job. Steve Morse saved Deep Purple, what a guitarist.
@@seabud6408 I saw Ian Paice on the Come Hell Or High Water DVD saying they got a scrappy hand written piece of paper saying Ritchie was tired of Ian Gillans unprofessional attitude and he was leaving the band. I hadn't heard the visa story but with Ritchie you never know. Satch was great short term and as you said, Morse saved Purple.
