I saw Deep Purple live in Antwerp in 2015 and in Dusseldorf in 2018, I was obsessed with the 1969-1973 era when I was about 17, now I'm obsessed with the 2013-2018 era at age 32. God bless you guys!

Best rock band ever

I had already finished my Deep Purple Program with 9 Concerts in 1985/87 early on. After 1987 I never made it to a Concert of this fantastic Band. Too bad. R.I.P. Jon Lord, whom I was also able to meet at Whitesnake in 1981 in Zurich and 1983 in Lausanne. Very Thanks

Well, I was Deep Purple fanatic circa 1973, when I first heard Machine Head, and then I was a disciple after MIJ came out. Became a HUGE Steve Morse and Dixie Dregs fan beginning in the 80's. So needless to say, Steve Morse with DP was a dream-come-true for me!! These guys kick ass!!

I have never seen this video, but glad I did such talent from a brilliant group.

Ian Gillan has that sort of look about him whereby, in a timeline of him not being a rockstar, he might have run a snooker-club or maybe a bookies.

What a voice! How old ist Gillan here? 54? Amazing!

I have to say, as a LONGtime DP fan----Ritchie Blackmore was best when he left DP finally, to pursue his other goals. Witness his perpetually pouting, scowling countenance to know well and truly, his unsuitability for playing with a contemporary rock combo. When he was bored or irritated with the other band members or management, he invariably punished the audiences with grating, repetitive "solos" which at times would feature all of one note, played repetitively and without any artistic nuance whatsoever, loudly, jarringly, and obviously the product of an attitude meltdown--for whatever reason. I'm not even going to go into what a genius he was, in his time, as this is well-established and old news. Such an intuitive genius with hands not unlike gossamer wings, and ultimately laid to waste because he couldn't get it sufficiently together to work harmoniously with others. The bane of many a rock n' roll dream, I might say. Last thoughts? God Bless Deep Purple and Ritchie Blackmore.

Deep Purple was a construct of her Manager Tony Edwards and Jon Coletta- his Buisinesspartner. They invest much Money in different line ups. Only one aim was from Interst: Build a Band for a money Machine! And the great Reunion in the Mark II setup- 1984- 2 Million per person- without tax- from polydor. Nobody says no to this option! Well, I dont like Steves guitarrplay, but I accept him. Now- its to say- I wish Steve Morse- much Power with his wife - she is sick on cancer. Thank you!

Listening to Ian Gillan gives me the feeling that he was the heart and brain of purple, not Ritchy or John. Whenever he was a member the band progressed or they sailed in calm and secure waters.

Ian Gillan had the best hair in rock. However his haircuts in 1975, 1985 and 1999 were among the worst.

The main problem with DP is that since 1985 Gillan is not a powerful stage singer anymore. Everytime I saw them he was awful, making my ears bleed. Oliver Hartmann would have replaced him.

Ian Gillan's massive ego, proud and arrogance never let him sing live songs from Burn, Stormbringer and Come Tase The Band.

No offence to Steve Morse but the band just isn't Deep Purple without Ritchie Blackmore.

Here's the view point of a guy that was never a big Deep Purple fan..back in the day no one was heavier than Black Sabbath (Vol.1 thru 4)I don't know why media used to compare them(Apples & Oranges)..and to this day I hate Smoke on the Water its the most baby basic riff in history, and I really was so bored to death when I saw DP with Tommy Bolin in Radio City in NY and I did buy that album and listened to it regularly..other than that. Deep Purple the band were great musicians..Gillan just right as theyre singer but that Richie Blackmore was really special in that group.Too special too replace with any other guitar player really.A real fker on that guitar.Maybe only someone like Jimi Hendrix or Eric Johnson would have been as interesting.
