Not every western song suits this instrument but smoke on the water does for me especially the base rhythm. What a talented young lady and a lot more strings than a standard guitar.

I saw Luna lay down some Hendrix in an Asian Instrument store in LA. The store owners really liked it but their daughter was a huge Luna fan and was ddo excited that she almost fainted. It was a hoot.

I would recommend hearing the version in Shamisen instrument. That one on the vid is Korean, the one I recommend is Japanese.

Definitely should be used in a martial arts film. She got the vocal lines word for word and the solo note for note. Amazing! She could do a whole soundtrack of rock songs.

Don't judge Richie Blackmore for this song, because it has an easy riff. Listen to Blackmore's Night. RB is one of the greatest, most under-rated guitarists EVER.

Joe Thomas hi! I highly respect RB playing and skill as a lifelong Purple and Rainbow fan... my remark is in appreciation of Luna’s amazing skill on this ancient, traditional instrument, rather than any intention to slight Mr Blackmore’s skill... his infamous arrogance though... demonstrated by the said quote (made as an opinionated young man at that time of DP’s rise in popularity) is perhaps the issue here which detracts somewhat from the man’s unquestionable musicianship. And of course, the riff appears simple to many, but to play it like Blackmore, eludes quite a lot of players...
