"Wasted Sunsets" is a song by the English hard rock band Deep Purple, from their 1984 album Perfect Strangers.
Perfect Strangers is the eleventh studio album by Deep Purple, released on 16 September 1984.
Personnel: Ritchie Blackmore - guitars, Ian Gillan - lead vocals, Roger Glover - bass guitar, Jon Lord - organ, keyboards, Ian Paice - drums.

Fantastic guitar work on one of my all time favorite songs. I used to obsess on that one, trying to play it right when i was young, and it brings back allot of great memories. You nailed it, and got all the blackmore nuance in it.

Thank you very much for your comment! When Perfect Strangers was released, it became my favourite Deep Purple album (next to Machine Head). Blackmore created some great tunes on "Wasted Sunsets". In a few weeks I'm going to post the cover of "Knocking at Your Back Door". 🎸

@@FlavioRecalde yeah, you're right, I think Perfect Strangers was the most underrated Deep Purple album ever made. The follow up album, (I can't remember the name of), had a song called, "Fire in the basement," absolutely smoking rock blues fusion piece!

Very good ear! I was playing around with this track last evening, and for a start I was playing the chord movement with mostly open chords (except for the "chorus" / second half of verse, where there is that obvious Dm bar chord embellishment kicking it off). But your version sounds much more accurate, compared to the original track. Hope you don't mind if I "steal" a bit of your work for my own version ;) Great effort on the song overall!
