You don't always need to fish with a feeder or a pole to catch well on large reservoirs. In this episode I use the Sliding Waggler technique to have a bumper days fishing.

You had some nice churners there, well done. I will have to try that method next time I get to a deeper lake.

Another well explained video on the slider float Den, looking at making some myself and giving it a go, normally fish with pole or feeder, looks good for fishing deeper waters, one of my club lakes is pretty deep like how you can change depth.

@FishingwithDen 6 месяцев назад
Its pretty simple if you set it up correctly Bob, but if you don't you're likely to get tangle after tangle.

Hi Bruno. Thanks for asking mate. I haven't been out fishing for the last two months because I injured the index finger on my left hand while I was making a new platform. Unfortunately, my left hand is the one I hold a rod with. I'm hoping to get out again in the next week or so.

I think I would need a new arm for that Richard. Nothing seems to work like it used to these days mate.🤣🤣

Have tried the slider but have problem with undertow float moves around....think my float is 12g capacity
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen 6 месяцев назад
There is often a strong undertow in large and deep waters. Your hookbait will always move to some extent in these conditions, but you can slow it down by going a foot or two overdepth and adding some small shots on that area. You should also use a somewhat thicker/more buoyant tip to stop the float being dragged under by the current. Personally, I don't worry too much about the bait moving in those conditions as you can still catch plenty of fish.

@FishingwithDen ty den I use the diawa carpa slyder float 3+12g so that's 12g to hold it in situ ?
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen 6 месяцев назад
@@magpiemale That is a heavy float mate. You should be able to overcome some of the undertow and slow the float down as I described above.

Hey Den, got the new underwater camera? A new Waterwolf is about to get on the market (or already is on the market). WaterWolf 2K WiFi. Seems better than the previous two versions.
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen 4 месяца назад
Hi Ovidiu. I got the replacement Waterwolf camera about 2 months ago unfortunately. So we will just have to wait and see how long it takes me to lose the new one before I get the next version.🤣🤣 I also haven't been out fishing for the past two months because I damaged the index finger on my left hand. (I'm left handed). I'm hoping to go out fishing later this week to see if I can use it now, so I will start to produce some more videos soon.

Great to hear the WaterWolf 2.0 will be filming the resting place of WaterWolf 1.0. maybe print a harness to keep the camera 15 cm above the deck, on some kind of stiff helicopter style link.
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen 6 месяцев назад
I think the main problem was the tangle caused by the wedge shaped support I attached to the bottom of the camera combined with leaving the long wire on the camera Ovidiu. It looks like it had got twisted around and around and that caused the line to fail. My bad, I'm afraid. Thanks again for your contribution mate.😁😁👍👍

Great vid once more. I never seem to get on with the slider float for some reason or other. Love my waggler or your method with the line grip. Very often set it with a pop up on 2" on a 4" hook length just to keep it off the debris on the bottom. I have made a Polaris type float and a Loc slip but not tried them in deep water except the bath? I am going on a trip for 4 days in May pure fishing and maybe a pint or two ;) Will test them out with my mates then.

Den .Have you thought about using a second rod with the camera attached with a marker float for an aiming point Using a standard feeder on the second rod ? May stop you losing anymore expensive cameras Was this using the Map carptek reel ? " Want a fast bite try drinking your coffee or eating your sandwich 🙂 "
@FishingwithDen
@FishingwithDen 6 месяцев назад
Hi Barbara. Yes, I have tried using a second rod in the past. It looked like a good idea at the time, but sometimes I ended up with the lines getting tangled when a fish took the bait. Yes, it was the MAP Carptek 4000FD Reel and Yes, you're right, tea or a sandwich always does the trick!🤣🤣👍👍
