I'm at a time where I've fallen away from my faith. Which is poor timing, because my deacon plans to baptize me end of this month. To get back out of this hole I had planned to attend this Sunday's mass again, so this video comes at exactly the right moment in my life. You're a godsend, Amber.

i struggle with what you're saying at times i think?, so i am not judging you about feeling like you are falling away or becoming lukewarm. we should remember that what we fill ourselves with is what we become... meaning if we indulge on a lot of secular entertainment and everything of this world besides God daily... NOT going to mass, NOT going to confession, NOT going to adoration... then you kno, obviously we won't be desiring God nor will we feel His presence, nor will we want anything to do with Him or will we care about Him. we must treat ourselves like little childten that need to be disciplined and taught because we cannot grow if we just do what we feel like. i sometimes get discouraged bc i fall into sin but i go to confession asap and i get right back on track with God again even if i don't desire to at the moment. we take God's forgivness, grace, love and everything He is for granted... and its scary bc this world will one day be on its last day before the 3 days of darkness and we won't even know until its too late. repent of your sins and turn to God, we must take Him seriously. i say this not to scare you but with the highest love and respect for Him. i struggle similar to you but i am self disciplining and its the only way to grow or do better. i also suggest praying the rosary daily, gabiafterhours is a channel thats gotten me on fire for God and helped me to understand why the rosary is important in our faith. i hope i helped you. i write this long comment bc i kno the struggle of our faith and we must be strong. I made a commitment to attending Mass every Sunday this year and I haven't missed one yet. It amazes me how it changes everything about my life, being reunited with Jesus through Holy Communion. I am a different person.

Hey Amber, idk if this suggestion may be too simple but it helped me when i first began diving into the Holy Mass. Simply learning the responses and correct gestures to the mass, along with their meaning. This was a big problem for me as a child during Spanish mass because at times it sounded like people were mumbling the responses and I didn’t have anyone to teach me them, so I learned through a missal that went through the order of mass. This helped me see that the mass was a ritual that followed instructions which I then discovered was all biblical.

One thing that I find helpful is to have an intention for each Mass. When we are at Mass we are at the foot of the Cross, so what better place to bring our deepest needs before our Lord? Having a particular intention at each Mass reminds me of the power of the Mass and that our Lord in His love wants to give good things to us.

Arriving early to Mass is definitely a must! I find that when I arrive late I am so much more frazzled. I'm distracted and I'm a distraction to others, finding a place to sit is difficult and distracting, this leads to me feeling more self conscious and therefore taking away all the attention from God. But the times when I do arrive earlier to Mass, I feel so much more at peace, so much more prepared and my head is definitely in the right space taking in the silence before the church starts to fill up.

Thanks for all the tipps. the coming 15-30 min earlier for mass has really proven itself for me and my family in the past years.bPersonally, I struggle especially with paying attention during the sermon. I wrote it down as a new year resolution to really start paying attention to what the priest is telling us. So with the ongoing year I have realised that it is a lot easier to just try and pick one aspect of the sermon to take with me and write it down as soon as I get into the car or home after mass. That way I don't pressure myself into remembering a whole sermon (especially if the priest speaks for like 20-30 min). By now I am writing more aspects down and it gets easier to stay focused during the sermon.

I don’t remember which Church father/saint said it but one of them said that we should bow our head at the name of the Holy Trinity, Jesus and Mary. You can also bow when the saint of the day is mentioned. This is mostly a novus ordo thing tho since they aren’t mentioned in the TLM.

One thing that helped me was reading books that explain the parts of the Mass and their spiritual meaning, such as The Hidden Treasute, by st. Leonard Port Maurice. Also Other books like Introduction to the Devout Life, by st. Francis of Sales, and Imitation of Christ have sections dedicated to this.

Great advice. I particularly like to show up to mass pretty early and remain in praying position the whole time within the Sanctuary in addition to focusing on prayer before and after mass. Some may talk before and after mass but it's a time to connect to Jesus and God the Father. Great job on your channel and I wish you the best. One thing that could help out your videos is to use a "morph transition" which will make your takes a little more smooth. Keep up the great work and God Bless All.

I attended Franciscan for two year. A good number of students did not wear shoes during mass since in Exodus I believe God tells Moses to remove his sandals because he is in holy ground. Though I may not recommend this in an everyday chruch per se. It would be an interesting practice to try:

Hi Amber. I find your videos very inspiring.!! I would recommend you look up sermons given by the late archbishop Lefebvre. I think his views on our religion are very interesting. I know some of his followers have lost their way but that doesn't negate the truths that he speaks and his ability to see where all the changes in the church would lead to. Look him up if you haven't already done so.!!!

I arrive early to Mass and do most everything you suggest here. My biggest issue though is all these other people that arrive late to Mass. And I dont mean like late when the bells have just began to ring. No, late as in when the priest is giving his homily. All this tardiness is a huge distraction for me and has become sadly a deterrent. 😢

Thanks for all the tips, Amber! I definitely need to start getting to mass earlier. Three things that I always find helpful at mass are to stand at attention and hold my hands as if praying when standing during the mass (God is our spiritual commander in chief as well as our Father), making the sign of the cross and praying "glory to You, my Lord and my God" when the eucharist and chalice are raised, and fasting from sunrise until communion which reminds me how my soul should hunger for the Lord similar to the physical hunger that I'd feel... especially when praying in a vigil mass.

I find that a lot of people at my Latin mass bow their heads when the whole Eucharist is raised and also when the chalice is raised. I have since started to do that and it has made me way more present and feel more like I'm participating in the mass. I also in my head when they he raises Eucharist and the chalice I say in my head this is the body of Christ. This is the blood of Christ and it has completely changed my feelings at mass. I also sometimes find myself wanting to kneel more, but I don't know if that is acceptable to kneel when certain things are being done and everyone else is either standing or sitting
