The weird thing is Jim Carrey doesn't look bad as Wolverine but Hugh Jackman looks grotesque as Ace Ventura.

I think that's because of how over exaggerated Jim Carrey's facial expressions can be. He's able to contort his face in ways that Huge Jackman can't copy so when we see Huge Jackman's face contorting in a way that only Jim Carrey can do it looks unnatural.

@Puss in Boots That's the linear way of thinking, yes. If you think of '2' as YES & '1' as NO, now you have values which are of same value but opposite in polarity. Kind of like how +1 and -1 are of same magnitude but opposite polarity.

Amazing how just swapping their faces completely changes the tone of the scenes. Jim Carrey's face gives a sense of comedy to every scene as Wolverine, but Jackman as Ace Ventura gives a tragic feeling of an overconfident man who is outside his element.

Incredible DF. It's quite striking too, it shows you just how animated Jim is with his facial muscles compared to every other actor. He looks practically dead on Jackman's face in Wolverine, but Hugh on Jim's face in Ace Ventura looks like he is constantly being electrocuted, never been so animated.

I like how thses roles would fit them perfectly as well, imagine Ace already has his connection with animals but with Hugh's Australian accent he'd be like a one of those animal wildlife adventurers, and Jim doing a slightly toned down version of his character Hank from Me Myself and Irene would make a good Wolverine

We are SO familiar with their faces and voices, that it looks weird the first time you see it, but after a couple of times you kinda see it different. Jim looks very convincing as wolverine, but Hugh still feels a bit weird, maybe because he never acts in that extreme way.
