would be nice to be able to test on a personal site and not on your demo site

Hello, we are very excited and have also looked at and tested the test site. I still have one question: Is there a possibility not to translate certain words (such as company names or special terms) and if so, where? Kind regards - Heike

Hello Heike! Yes, excluding certain words is possible from the Advanced tab → Exclude Strings section. Here's our documentation on how exactly to do this: translatepress.com/docs/developers/exclude-certain-text-or-element-from-being-translated/. You can go straight to the "Excluding strings from automatic translation" section of the article.

Hi, if I undertsand well, all the translations won't be added as new posts but directly stored in your plugin's wp folder? Any way to change this to have one post per language or at least one main post and all translations available within the same editor if we want to add language specific content for instance? Or if we want to customize the output translation with native reviewers?

Unfortunately, this is not possible with TranslatePress. TranslatePress does not create new posts for the translated versions of the original post. But the translated versions will have separate URLs. That means every page has a separate URL for each language no matter if that page is translated or not. Our plugin is string-based which means we detect the individual strings from a page, not the entire page as WPML/Polylang does for example.

Hi, do you know if it translates metadata?

Hello! In order to translate meta descriptions and other SEO elements, you will need to activate the SEO Pack add-on, available with any pro license of the plugin. Then, you will be able to find all the metadata in the visual translation editor (in the strings dropdown from the translation sidebar).
