1. It is the WEIGHT OF THE SOUL that influences how deep you go, not the strength level. Kennith's soul was at least strong enough to innately resist the Lord Regent's mental veil on Etris. His soul has power not from strength, but from sheer drive/will and this rather than physical (and yes, oaths and elements count as "physical") strength. Another example would be Pleetsky himself! Pleetsky drowned into the 3rd layer but he wasn't particularly strong; not being a deepwoken or even having an attunement yet. However, we know that his will and charm was enough to charm the flames well enough to teach others to (that is, after he became a deepwoken). The WEIGHT of someone's being indeed is what influences how deep they sink, and we have little insight to what contributes to it. 2. Maestro has no "requirement" or "criteria" for the tempest eye! The reason that Maestro doesn't destroy the Lord Regent is because he is not able to solo the whole might of the Central Authority. Keep in mind that the Central Authority we see is bare-bones OUTPOSTS of what is actually in the CENTRAL LUMINANT! The actual Authority instead of the small squads we have would overwhelm Maestro - even at full power - with numbers alone. Chainwarden is just one of the MANY oaths that the Authority Wardens use. It would be like Whitebeard vs All the marines! He destroys most of them, but gets dogpiled on by 6 high ranking ones and loses. You may ask "how can Etris stay alive with the Authority being an enemy then?". Simple! The MINISTRY! Contractors belonging to multiple Ministry Prophets (You heard me, chaser was originally given his blood magic by the 2nd prophet but now that they want to make it an attunement, it's just a plot hole)! Etris alone military is quite weak and is going to be kepth that way so that nobody risks becoming stong enough to resist his mental veil In reality, the only truly powerful factions are the ones with crazy negative rep ambushes! They send multiple of their unique oath's personel and this explains why their oaths are the most powerful (oath strength scales on how many people wield the oath AND on a lesser scale the strength of their wielders. Note that combatant strength only has a lesser scale! Oaths with a powerful person/entity behind them can catch up to more popular oaths. @@Reaconteur yo so in one of the maestros dialogue options, you can straight up ask him why he doesnt go willy nilly and kill lord regent, maestro says if he does this, the authority will realise and launch a full on take over (stronger than the etris raid events) with their best units to murder/capture etris. Maestro admits Lord Regent is the only reason etris is safe, so he cant kill him without endangering the entirety of etris/etrea.
Someone said that the stronger you are the deeper you end up in the depth and he gave a theory on why Kennith ended up in layer 2, Kennith is strong, not in strength but in his ideal, as he try to find out the truth about the Lord Regent until the last moment of his life. I think its something like that
2:24 Just to clarify the deeper you drown into the depths doesn’t mean you’re more powerful. Allegedly you drown deeper based on the character of your soul and this makes sense and Kennith was the only one to question Lord Regent Amongst his peers. And this could also explain why Captain Orlandeu is also there as he was the captain of the crew.
Maestro doesn't need to be spat on to activate the tempest eye, he goes on us (the player) easily, and he just activates the tempest eye to oneshot us when we disrespect him The reason why he cant go is said, if he goes then the authority will profit and attack Vigils leaving them defenseless, meanwhile if he stays he knows lord Regent (although his intentions aren't good) will for sure protect Etris, basically lord regent is a parasite and him being gone without him being replaced will end up in Etris being raided by authority and loosing
@@Reaconteurit’s easy to kill one person, but it’s hard to dismantle a whole organization. otherwise duke or warden Jericho would have torn down the ministry by now (Also on the note of what you said about maestro rallying the etrean armed forces: regent’s mind control boosts their strength, and Etrea is only a regional power)
@Blahamus like I said in my post, the issue isn't the military but the political aspect. Etris would suddenly realize the Regent was fake, their king is still gone (most likely dead). Stability would shatter overnight and factions would emerge causing mass chaos all around the Etrean luminant. Even when United the Etreans lost the FOB at the hive to a strike team of the Authority and get attacked in their own home turf. What happens if a Divided Etris happes? Chaos, just pure chaos
better yet about the maestro tempest eyes, regent is confirmed to be a snobby douche, so maybe we can get a cutscene or something of the sorts where regent is dissing on maestro, maestro gets offended or dishonored, then pop. tempest eyes.
I think, when you wipe your soul is shattered across the deep (this is canon), so the small part that stays in the first layer is what is then turned into the enforcer by the voices (who are probably the rulers of celtor when it sunk)
That would mean you're losing a part of your soul each time you wipe though, which would mean you basically wipe your whole entire slot every few deaths

Imo they should add a secret weekly where instead of fighting ethiron you get a round 2 with chaser (midway you get into layer 1 thru klaris) and it will allow you to get a new feature with bell. Maybe even a new layer 2 specific bell awakening!!!
The more you have influence on the world, the more it wants to get rid of you. Whatever the player does it doesnt affect the world one bit even though how strong they get, since they arent related to anything around them. I guess you could say Kennith went to second layer because he was trying to change things around.
since mr unc doesn't put the bg music in the description and people might be looking for it; it's "Every Day is Night" from the VA-11 Hall-A OST, for the first one also, just generally i believe the same rules apply to npcs as they do to players in the depths, likely kennith fell down the wrong hole and went through the eternal gale only to end up in new kyrsa, same with orlandeau, wouldn't doubt it, while duke, being smarter than that, escapes the depths each time only going to layer 1, as no matter how many times you die in deep you never go IMMEDIATELY to layer 2 [anymore]. also evangarde rest says outright that zi'eer is a necessary evil to keep the authority at bay away from etrea, as the reason why he doesnt off him, etreans are all under a 'mind veil' from him, whether or not that dissipates in lore once zi'eer is gone is unknown- and it would be horrible for etrea to end up in some kind of civil war or chaos only to be chopped up by the authority afterwards,
Are you referring to Vigils specifically? Because that doesn’t make sense. Stratos is stronger than Maestro and I’d assume he could defend Vigils from the authority whilst Maestro takes care of Lord Regent.
@@bucket8849 Nevermind I was disproven by another dude. Stratos isn’t stronger as he’s second in command to Maestro. In the lore, Maestro is confident that he could defeat Lord Regent. Since Stratos is weaker (by an unknown quantity) it’s actually difficult to say whether he could defend from the Authority on his own.

the thing is that the way to enter lower layers on death, is to have a strong soul, not a strong ability the thing about kennith is that he is stong willed, strong conviction is what sends you lower.
Something of note on the time alteration properties of Layer 2. It's stated several times that the unusual things happening there are because of Ethiron waking and therefor under normal circumstances the time alteration wouldn't exist. Still doesn't make sense how it's still up after we defeat the scion but whatev.
It could be that being sent to the deeper layers of the depths like the second layer doesn't only scale on physical strength but moreover the strength of the soul. Also, I believe that Ethiron doesn't have mind controlling gale powers but mind controlling powers as well as gale, I don't know why and I don't think we will ever know. Heck, every drowned god could have additional special powers.

maybe duke's soul was too weak because he used his own soul and not other peoples because he wasnt crazy yet so his soul was weak and he got sent to layer 1
the excuse i think they are going to say for the duke and celtor plot hole is that he's somehow connected to the city, because he was a citizen from there, so he always go back there, honestly that's pretty bad and shallow but i do think they're going to say that
my guess of why the duke does not go to layer 2 is due to his soul having a strong connection with celtor this is because he was a man who lived in celtor when the city drowned was, he in celtor when this happened, we dont know

Kennith went down to Layer 2 because of his willpower, he was mentally strong enough to somewhat see through the Lord Regents veil, so while he's PROBABLY not as physically strong as Duke Erisia, he's mentally stronger, I'm pretty sure Duke also went insane so... there's that, his will is weakened so, perhaps that's why he would get sent to layer 1 instead?.

People drown further based on the strength of their soul, not like strength itself, their soul. Pretty much saying the more of a protagonist you are the more you drown
They should make it so Kenneth escapes the depths like Toji and on a fated day, there's like a live event like in fortntie where kenneth solo's Lord Regent and takes the throne and becomes the king of etris
Duke erisia's ability (bell) is to manifest golems. With his research on the forge and souls, he imbues the souls from the husks into his golems, not that he can create. The ones with souls are the red golems. significantly powering up the golems because souls have immeasurable strength in deepwoken, rogue lineage, tftv, yggdrasil. its a reoccurring theme. Dukes ability is his mastery over galebreathe and his intelligence. Duke didn't kill everyone in Erisia, it was long since a ghost town only inhabited by bandits and such. He wouldn't be titled Duke, unless there was a former power system. Either king of celtor, or king of etrea not too sure for example, giving Duke the title. Kennith and Orleandeu likely fell into the second layer, through whatever npc exclusive lore is in deepwoken. wouldnt be fun if we got yeeted into newkyrsa just bc we mis stepped. Duke likely only ever goes to the depths like the rest of us and escapes. You clearly lack the critical thinking on this front Maestro is easily one of the strongest only rivaled by the prophets when they use their hacks, such as queensblade which sealed King Etrea (the strongest person to ever live in deepwoken aside from meatlord) Maestro is rivaled by drallis ehr aswell but that's sorta unfair considering he's literally chosen by the celestials, and directly hailing from the ivory cities. Tempest eye having a few bounds to power makes sense, the disrespect factor. Yes he can do these things, however he doesn't. Killing regent would cause an all out war between the authority, ministry and maestro being caught in it. The ministry and all the prophets would flood and try to cause the drowning, the authority would capitalize on etris and the ministry at once, changing the war entirely. Vigils, which maestro only wants to protect would be caught at the same time by the ministry. Nobody compares to maestro at all when it comes to other powers in the etrean faction. It just isnt possible, everyone would be slaughtered and countless warmasters would descend upon vigils and etris. They dont got the man power for that. Ferryman racist thing is kinda fair, but you gotta think about how it actually came to be. He's lived for hundreds and hundreds of years, generosity used. Witnessed the decline of humankind, the evils of the world, id be pretty mad too. He's a fair person if you can compete with him, he grants gifts and experience. He's looking for people worthy. Being able to change the colour is probably a signification of mastery of itself, considering we have spectre, azure flames, twisted puppets, surge path, scrapsinger etc. Ferryman being bisexual probably would be a thing due to how many people he's met, there's no doubt he'd like more than just a woman. Felinors exist after all. yea primadon is just a godly sea monkey who was worshipped and given sacrifices to keep at bay. Chaser is a betrayed disciple of the prophets and ministry, he's a sad case. He never makes it to layer 2 and doesnt even know it BECAUSE of the loop he's stuck in. Kaido argument is just ignorant, reproduction and eating the corpses of dread serpents would have the same effect because they're essentially biologically edenkite but in a corrupted sense. I think its pretty obvious your next characters have a separate soul. you can have the Vacant flaw and still wipe and create a new character also you dont keep the Tarnished flaw when you wipe which I am assuming is connected to your soul.

i dont know who said this, but i remember watching a vid of the lore where they said that the reason duke dosent go to l2 on death and why we can easily defeat him is that he keeps his magic weak enough to where he wont go to l2 and uses his golems for his things tldr i heard that he keeps himself weak so he dosent go to l2 and uses golems for his antics
Ok on the topic of the maestro, yes he is powerful no doubt of it, but we have to remember that technically speaking even with the lord regents mindveil etris is on the back foot. They have lost control of their furthest base (outpost near the hive) to a authority strike team and get jumped in their home turf. War isn't determined by super powerful god like beings but the soldiers. The Authority is the strongest if not second strongest faction. The legion is doing scouting missions meaning etris is diplomatically alone if push comes to shove. The Authority has the numbers and technology advantage over etris, and no amount of trained swordsmen would be able to stop a horde. Another thing is politically and stability wise Etris would be ruined. The regent was a pretender and god knows where their king is. I think its the political and stability reasons Maestro doesn't scramble the regent. He absolutely can, but the absolute mess that would unfold would leave Etris the most vulnerable in its history.

The duke thing isn’t even fuckin true, his bell is golem creation. The forge of sin is what allows for soul extraction and that’s an “amateur use” of its power, which is why the lord regent wants it retrieved. This is why the duke suddenly began kidnapping people to put their souls into golems: his original bell could only maintain so many at once while fueling them with souls allowed him to make as many as he wants.
Also why the maestro doesn’t kill lord regent is literally in the game when you talk to him to get one of the unique weapons: the authority is actively trying to conquer etris and should a civil war start they’d genuinely just swoop in and 3rd party win.
I mean before it was an oddly specific bell player’s wouldn’t know the role of, but the stoneheart now directly says the golems come from it. Deep lore is made of glue and popsicle sticks but it’s not as bad as people think.
The sad thing is knowing that most of the community doesn't care much about the story, I think they could make it a little more interactive and present. (And I want to have a Kyrsgarde gf!)
The duke may not be falling into layer 2 because 1. He is boosted(by his forge of sin) and acording to the lore channels he is probably around level 2 or 3 bc he can't go deep enough to be in layer 2 but i do not belive it since it could be that just kenith has mental strength to be able to fall that down to layer 2 ,the ideal of revolution and freedom from the lord regenant and not him being strong...and dying from guards of lord regenant..
Don't even get me started on Deepwoken lore The Starkindred are supposed to be a celestial counterpart to THE DEEPWOKEN, the mid as hell cosmetic oath is supposed to be a counterpart to the likes of Pleeksty and The First Prophet Constellia was sieged by kyrsgarde under Ethirons will, the Lightborn (Celestial and human hybrids) either fleeing or protecting it. YET WE JUST FIND THE LIGHTBORN KING AND THE FLOATING KEEP RESIDENTS, since they were fighting up in the sky you would expect some at LEAST easter egg style lightborn and kyrsgarde corpses in obscure areas in the overworld Also we don't have a depths counterpart to the Lightborn despite that possibility being a really cool thing to do for more Ministry lore and content. Hell, even New Kyrsa lore is so much lost potential. If Arch Mages content on social media that's lore related can be trusted, Ethiron is slumbering beneath New Kyrsa and the residents kept doing rituals to keep him asleep until they just stopped believing in him and didn't do the ritual, causing him to wake? for a split second and take over the people of New Kyrsa. Imagine a difficult side goal of re-doing the ritual to unlock floor 2 as a new open world, Deepbound on fat steroids perhaps? And the open world Layer 2 people wanted. And that's just PARTS of Celestial and Layer 2 lore, not even mentioning everything in the overworld nor possible deeper layers.
krulians are the depths counterpart of lightborn starkindred could very well be stronger depending on the strength of the celestial or maybe other factors, considering what the starkindred church have achieved, the method we obtain our starkindred is through a dying/dead celestials blood in a dinghy library under an abandoned church.
the reason maestro doesnt wipe lord regent is because zi’eer is the sole reason the central authority hasnt invaded etrea also, zi’eer is roughly as strong as akira but the throne he sits on amplifies his strength SIGNIFICANTLY to the point that hes able to cast a mental veil over the whole of etris, and maestro even with his tempest eye isnt able to defeat him like that however what interests me is that this mental veil also ties in to etreas beef with the central authority since the mental veil deludes the citizens of etris into thinking the lord regent saved them from the authority, which granted him the title of lord regent BUT the central authority is only beefing with etrea BECAUSE etrea hates central authority due to the false memories of them being invaded before you guys start having at go at me in the replies, let me first say that this lore is IN THE GAME its in maestros dialogue and in an authority journal

The developers should finally make a general lore that is complete and Not always listen to what devs say. Basically what I mean is to make a document that devs approve about all the lore, and I really mean all, so that stuff is intact and not shit like you say in every lore video.
Gonna just dissect the duke section (Not the full video, for obvious reasons) 1:13 Unc, The Dukes Bell lets him take souls and create golems from them, and the husks are people he kidnapped and experimented on with FoS 1:21 Unc, hes literally confirmed to be delusional and insane due to the fucked up shit hes seen 1:42 Unc, hes clearly talking about lost celtor in the first layer, its so obvious even a blind man can see what hes talking about 2:24 Unc, kennith is down there because of how dying works, the stronger will your soul has, the deeper layer you go, orlaneu is down there because klaris got butthurt over something he said
