I think they should continue adding content to it after release unlike layer 2. Maybe new mobs, island types, oaths and maybe new murmurs or even factions.
it's 2094. I am hiding within my bunker as WW4 broken out. My last thoughts as I pass to the ethereal realm, conquest still hasn't released, and not even my grandkids could enjoy the update..
Agamatsu, I know you have faith in Arch and the dev team to cook and deliver on their vision, but they have a history of overpromising and underdelivering. Layer 2 was promised to be an open world exploration experience where other players could track you down and kill you for your loot. What we got was a instanced dungeon with absolutely no good exploration and only atmosphere going for it. It got easy and boring after the third run. We were promised Conquest was practically finished and would release in a few weeks. It's been like four months. When Deepwoken was even first announced, we were promised a dark game rich with lore and exploration, where danger lurked around every corner in a dying world. Where skill was what guaranteed survival, not build. What Deepwoken is now is a build vs build simulator where you pit two glowsticks against eachother to see who can outspam the other Dragon Ball Z style. The world does not feel like its dying, with a normal, if slightly muted, color palette and many npcs lurking around. With a decent build you're unkillable, with half a braincell you win every single 1v1 against monsters, and the only danger that comes from them is when they gang up on you. The game got fully explored in like a week, and overall instead of a dark adventure game, we got a fashion simulator MMORPG where fights are flashy and fast paced instead of desperate struggles for survival. Deepwoken strayed far from the devs original vision, and with what they've delivered so far, how can you be so sure that Arch will stick with his vision for the void sea, when so many times he's deviated from what he wanted to do?
I think the main problem, or rather how the trouble u described happened is simply that the Lore isn’t moving. From the start of the game to where we are up to now, so far Lord Regent asked us to kill Duke, Maestro trains/tests us and the whole situation with chaser and Ethiron. This much time for that little overall plot progression is what shifted the attitude of the devs and the player base to be more “make the perfect build” type of community. Even as far as mobs evolving or changing, the best we got is the brute which is a so-so mob
How many of y'all were here for update ultimate in rogue? They botched the shit out of khei, remade it and left it like 40% finished then ran to deepwoken because their poor foresight when creating rogue caught up to them

Agamatsu is known to be a lil... "Enthusiastic" to say the least when it coming to deep woken updates. But the one thing im excited about. Are these void sea expeditions. I wonder if its gonna have us like deep sea diving from our ship like diving suit level stuff. That'd be dope.
It would be most interesting if they made the southern luminant sort-of inverse: the void sea is in a giant spot in the middle, but around it there are SOME islands where you can restock, log or take a break (since not all of the southern luminant is voidsea). Then it would be the REAL southern luminant update
they should make it into sea of thieves-esque gameplay where you hop on islands to loot and pvp is just hopping on the other's boat and throwing hands since havbing to jump off to kill every lionfish is annoying asl (and also they or roblox need to do something about the lag on boats when you're not anchored, potentially something like making the overall luminant way smaller but making boats drastically slower so the lag isnt felt as much and it still feels just as big)
Arch hasn't made any exploration in this game for the last year and a half, wasn't it a big standpoint for deepwokens original release? WE NEED VOIDSEA EXPANSION!!
I don't want a lot of randomness with the location itself (not enemy's and random events and such just the terrain itself) because come on its 1 OF THE 5 LUMINANTS this can be the most important update for story and world building since it launched I don't want it to be a lot a random floating islands I want it to be a cool memorable location of the world
Personally with the idea of a 'instanced' server for a voidsea expedition, the idea of the stranger server list system could be reused! maybe when you meet someone if you say your name in chat to them it'll reveal their character name on the server list
hear me out itd be so awesome if like youre sailing in the voidsea, maybe its been one or two hours and then BAM the ambience changes from dark to lighter and the text pops up on your screen and youve come across markor or something as you see a huge mainland in the distance you sail towards and the ambience changes and you reach the proper southern luminant and thats your safe zone with a genuine city and wider luminant then you gotta make trips back and forth between the luminants maybe even to save the stuff you found out voidsea tripping man the amount of vibes id get from that would be so peak and you know itd make lore sense too

layer 2 feels way more like a "dungeon" than a whole new layer evem though its way more interesting than the depths, i think along the lines of a whole new luminant we really need some new areas that are like open world areas to bring back that mystery and exploration that deep used to have
Your forgetting about how chimes needs to be fixed because conquest will use the same type pf server code as chimes battle Royale, all of Asia is unable to play in Asian servers for battle Royale because of the code.

we HAVE TO have rogue like dungeons that change randomly each time you replay the dungeon, and you can explore it with YOUR FRIENDS, each room has different monsters, environments, and a story behind them, hell even instanced server with 25 players and they fight to be the first one to reach the middle or the bottom of the dungeon, rewarding idk the one piece i guess. This will BOOST the game player base by 100k and keep the game alive with replayability
I honestly agree, ive played Arcane Odyssey since day 1 but deepwoken overall is better with build diversity, and combat, i love both deepwoken and arcane Odyssey! Im very hyped for conquest.
in my opinion voidsea should be geniunely dangerous, some shit shouldnt even be beatable in voidsea which would actually make surviving the voidsea and doing it often genuinely require skilled sailing and actually be lowkey admirable. They can figure out their own way of making that enjoyable but thats just my idea
Deepwoken has a worse update schedule then GPO and I guarantee there will never even be another layer added. The next major update will likely be its last.
the main issue i have with arcane odyssey is the controls, they are AWFUL deepwoken controls feel like they were thought out more and make sense its legit so bad that i cant even play the game it just feels so bad and because of it ive never gotten past the first quest

@@ShipWadd Ok lil bro in THAT case weeklies would actually take off time from conquest, and we would see it in 2028, as of rn weeklies barely take any time and help the game to stay alive by improving a ton every update and sometimes adding quirky attunement paths and whatnot. Had weeklies have "substance", then people would get even more dissapointed since it is hard to make something good in a week, while working on a huge content update and trying to stay sane on the side, so we would just get even more half baked content than the slop we get now. layer 2 is so cheeks i havent even done it a single time since it dropped i did take a year break right after it dropped to be fair but im not doing a fucking pve dungeon thats deadass a waste of time bruh idc about pve whatsoever
