I used to go to your dad's camp when I was younger so its so cool to watch and see the familiar woods when you hunt at home. Always loved watching your videos.
If you liked trying that one you should try the Swhacker 3" 150 gr. Holy crap is it devastating and I'm thinking a lot more durable and reliable than those heads.
I guess you could consider them a single use item, it definitely works, but did sustain some damage. I don’t think it will fly as well after being bent. I use a fixed blade with a crossbow, so far so good.
Definitely try the Swhacker 150 grain 3”. Much, much, much better than that arrow. I use the Swhacker 2.25” 125 grain and love it. They’re built much better. Great video though, I really enjoyed it.
I think that the lubrication from the carton of water helped it go through everything and land on the ground. Same with the deer, the blood lubricates the arrow as it passes through. You don't have that if you just shoot into the block of silicone or whatever that block of stuff was.
All bows should be tuned to the broadhead they shoot (fixed or mechanical). My Wasp fixed broadheads shoot like my field points and I'm the only weak chain in that link because they don't fail. As long as I do my job (take good patient ethical shots), they do the rest.
You want a good fixed broadheads try the magnus black hornet serated those things pack a punch I shot a buck last yr with em and the entrance was about 2 inches the exit was about 4-5
I shot the grim reaper whitetail extreme 2" blades that cut a 3" hole. I figure I can aim 2" further back and still cut further forward than a 3/4" fixed. Killed just over a dozen deer with them all exited except the one that hit the off shoulder joint.
Hear we go down the rabbit hole-if you want more penetration use a heavy broad head, 200gr-250gr. Speed does nothing for kinetic energy, weight does, which is punching power. Think of it like this, heavy weight boxer to light weight boxer and snipers use heavy gr bullets. Now for the return comments
Slang blade makes a 4 inch broad head. Shot a couple deer with them. Wasn’t impressed with penetration at all. You should make a video On them though!!!
All mechanical broadheads are one use. You shoot it once and then you have to replace the blades. Otherwise you risk blade deployment failures. However this is still a garbage design for a broadhead. Penetration is way more important than cutting diameter.
I can testify on these I shot some on my compound bow , and managed to kill 3 deer with these exact Broadheads and it was just complete devastation on the deer to the point where half a lung was just laying on the ground.
Well...if you shoot a deer at 5 yards like you did...any broadhead should work. Not a good test. I'll stick to my rage extreme chiesel tip. Hasnt failedme yet.
